The Experiments Beneath Green Haven Penitentiary

2023.06.07 13:53 papabear513 The Experiments Beneath Green Haven Penitentiary

I stared up at the magazine cut out of a Maxim model that was crudely pasted on the underside of the top bunk. Her pert breast shimmied ever so slightly as Pete tossed and turned above.
She was platinum blonde with legs long enough to wrap around me twice. Or so the camera angle made it seem. I felt a stirring below, that yearning for a woman’s touch… which I hadn’t felt in six years, three months, and eleven days.
I rolled to my side, stifling it. It was the wrong time to seek out an orgasm, and I knew after the release I’d just spiral into self-loathing anyway. I focused on a crack in the cinder block until my eyelids became heavy.
Static pushed the thought of women from my mind as I slipped into sleep. The smell of cigars and oil flitted through my mind in a memory. My dad’s repair shop. The one I was meant to take over, before the arrest…
------
“Aaaarrgghh!”
A cry echoing from somewhere deep within the prison startled me awake. My heart thundered in my chest like a rabbit thrashing against its cage.
I rolled over to see Pete crouching low, his face pressed against the bars.
“What’s going on?” I croaked.
“They’re taking Benny.” He whispered.
“Fuck, really?” I pulled myself to the top corner of my mattress, just enough to peer around the edge of the bars.
Two guards wrestled the young latino onto a gurney as a man in a lab coat watched from a distance. He fought against them but it was futile. Once the straps were locked in he screamed once more, pleading for help.
Dozens of eyes watched from dim lit cells, none of which stirring to offer assistance in the slightest. We knew there was no helping him. We knew what happened next…
His cries were muffled as the doctor jammed a syringe into the base of his neck. Benny’s muscles tensed and pulsed in the fit of a seizure, but then lay still. The cell block was silent once more as they wheeled him down the hall and into the catacombs.
I did a cross over myself but didn’t bother to pray. Once they took them, they never came back.
“A damn shame…” I muttered.
“Yeah, he was a good kid…” Pete stood and leapt back onto the top bunk.
A fire burned in my chest. I wanted to say something. To cry out about the injustice of what was happening to us. That committing a crime shouldn’t damn a man to whatever terrible fate they had instore for us below three feet of steel and a quarter mile of dirt.
But I didn’t… What good could it do? Other than drawing attention to me in a very negative way.
Once they took you to the lab, you were never seen again.
All you could do was hope that your number was never called, and that you got out of here before they visited your cell late into the night.
—-----
87…88…89…90…
My chest was on fire as sweat dripped from the tip of my nose. I couldn’t go back to sleep last night. Kept thinking about Benny.
91…92…93…
So began the push-ups. It was the only way to clear my head.
94…95…96…
My therapy.
97…98…99…100.
I rolled to my back, out of breath.
Three years, six months and change.
So much time left to go.
Benny had only been here for a little over a year. It made no sense…
None of us could figure out exactly why they took who they took. There seemed to be no method to the madness.
Just a couple weeks ago they took old man Tom Finch. He’d been here longer than any of us. A lifer on the account of premeditated murder back in the 70s. But they didn’t come for him until he’d served most of his adult life behind bars.
The red beacon suddenly swirled above. A buzzing sound hummed as the cell doors clicked and slid open.
Breakfast.
—----
I pulled my tray along the bar to be loaded with oats, powdered eggs and bread.
Meager rations.
I grabbed a small carton of milk and made my way over to sit with Pete. He was already nibbling on his toast while perusing a crossword puzzle.
We exchanged nods and I went to devouring the entirety of my plate.
Calories build muscle after all.
Which was something Pete had no interest in. He was a bookworm through and through. Rail thin too. When we’d met, I’d assumed it was from the drug problem he’d had on the outside, which ultimately landed him in incarceration. But come to find out it was just his metabolism and general lack of appetite.
“John…” He whispered.
I looked up from my feast.
He was looking to the corner of the cafeteria and I followed his gaze to see two men in lab coats surveying the crowd.
I grunted and squeezed the handle of my fork until my knuckles went white. The impulse of burying it into their throats was almost overwhelming.
“Their activity has been ramping up.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’ve been seeing them much more frequently as of late. They must be close to a breakthrough.”
“Breakthrough of what?” I furrowed my brow.
“Who knows? Whatever it is they are doing down there. They’ve been taking us more often as well.”
Pete sighed at the twist of confusion on my face.
“Think about it… Benny last night, then Tom two weeks before that. Then Eric ten days before that, and Deonte maybe three weeks prior. It’s never been that close together. Until recently, they only came perhaps once every other month. Sometimes only once a season.”
Shit… he was right. I hadn’t realized it before.
“So what does that mean?” I asked, shoving another hunk of egg into my mouth.
“I have no idea. But I’d say our odds of survival have been reduced dramatically.”
—-----
Pete might as well have been an oracle, peering into our grim and desolate future.
Over the next several months we started seeing the lab coats weekly. Sometimes even more often than that.
The prison yard felt empty. Sure there were still plenty of us left, but our population had been noticeably trimmed. One gang in particular only had two members left, which didn’t bode well for them. The others slowly circled them like sharks. I had no affiliation with any of them and kept to myself. But still, I could see their fate a mile away.
Although, despite the business as usual dog eat dog atmosphere, there was an undercurrent of fear rippling through the general pop. You could smell it, like a scent of decay and desperation. Hard faces that had once promised violence, now almost flinched around every corner and jumped at each shadow.
The energy of a couple of hundred men that felt like an animal backed into a corner was palpable.
But what could we do?
I didn’t know but I sure wish someone would tell me… I threw myself into my workouts and Pete hardly ever looked up from a book. Escapism was our only reprieve.
I went to bed with a prayer on my lips, hoping I wouldn’t hear those iron bars moving in the late hours of the night.
—-----
A loud clanking followed by footsteps pulled me from sleep.
I squeezed my eyes tightly shut hoping it was the cell next to mine.
But it wasn’t…
Three guards hovered behind a fourth that was unlocking our cell. The bars clicked and began to slide open.
I jumped to my feet and backed up against the wall. I pulled my fists up into a boxing stance, I wasn’t going to go without a fight. My muscles tensed and flexed like coiled steel.
“In the corner inmate! We’re here for your cellmate.” A short and stocky corrections officer barked with his hand gripping the baton at his waist.
Pete squirmed into a ball at the corner of his mat and looked at me with wide, pleading eyes.
I put my face in the opposite corner as instructed. A mixture of fear and relief roiled in my gut, and I hated myself for it. It made me feel like a coward.
“No, no, no, no, no!” I heard Pete squeal from behind as guards flooded the cell.
I peaked over my shoulder and watched as they pried him from the top bunk. Pete tried to resist, but there was nothing to him. A bag of bones that they easily wrestled down.
That same fire ignited in my chest. Anger washed over me, cleansing away the cowardice. For God’s sake, he was my only friend.
All I could see was red.
I spun around bringing the back of my fist across a guard’s face, shattering the bridge of his nose. Blood spurted from it as he dropped Pete’s legs.
With a giant step forward I brought an uppercut into the portly officer’s abdomen, dropping him like a ton of bricks.
I shoved a third into the corner, pinning him there as I screamed for Pete to run. He scampered out the opening and the last thing I heard were his footfalls as a baton smashed across the back of my skull. Everything went black before I even hit the ground.
—-----
I spent a month in solitary.
The room was so small it should have been inhumane to house a human being inside of it.
Still… I made the best of it with dips, pushups and situps. Countless reps of them. It was all I could do.
Some mornings I’d wake up with horrible migraines. I assumed it was a slight concussion from the impact of the baton.
I only hoped Pete could have somehow made it out. But somewhere deep down I knew that would have been impossible. Hopefully he at least gave them some hell before they took him below.
I stopped praying before bed. It didn’t seem like it did any good.
If there was a God, he didn’t exist inside these walls.
We were abandoned.
The unheard.
—-------
When I finally got back to my cell it had been emptied of everything. Pete’s books, artwork from his niece and even my Maxim cutout.
Just like he’d never existed. My heart sunk at the sight.
Later that day I’d learned from others that he had been captured just moments after escaping the cell.
But our actions weren’t wasted in vain.
We were the first to fight back against the abduction and it sparked something in the others.
They started talks of an uprising a few weeks back. A prison riot.
They even had a guard on the inside. C.O. Matthews. He was a very religious man and was just as horrified by what was happening as we were and had been looking for a way to help.
“It’s going down tonight John, just before lights out. Be ready.” Jerry whispered at the picnic table.
I gave a nod that I understood and headed off for my daily jog around the courts.
It wasn’t about getting out. Getting free. That wasn’t going to happen. It was about sending a message.
I let my mind go blank, filling with static as I enjoyed what could be my last day outside.
—------
The beacon swirled overhead in the common area.
“Inmates to their cells. Lights out.” The intercom buzzed.
There were over fifty men in cell block B, and not a single one of us moved.
The voice on the intercom repeated himself angrily as guards began to shuffle in closer. Nods passed like dominoes from one inmate to the next. We were ready.
“Get to your cell inmate.” a guard growled as he clamped his hands down on my shoulders.
I threw an elbow behind me into his groin, he howled in pain as he hit the floor. The other inmates sprung to their feet and flew off from their leaning places to join in the brawl.
Fists, feet and batons flew wildly across the cell block as we engaged in war with the uniformed officers.
I grappled with one until I was able to submit him in a choke until he went limp in my arms.
I stomped another in the face, spilling blood and brains on the concrete floor.
It had looked like we were winning until they sent the special response team in. We formed a line, many of us battered and bloody, in front of the row of riot shields.
We waited for their charge for what felt like an eternity.
But suddenly they backed out from where they’d come and slid the cell block doors closed.
What the hell…
The red beacon swirled once again overhead as a clicking sounded out behind us.
The rear entrance that the lab coats had always used swung open. I spun around to see…
“Mary, mother of God.” I gasped.
It was Pete…
But there was something horribly wrong with him.
His skin clung loosely to his body and had a terrible jaundice looking hue to it. His eyes almost seemed to glow and his hands… they were impossibly large like contorted branches.
I held my hand up to my mouth in disbelief.
A scientist stepped out from behind him.
“As you can see, we have a few kinks left to iron out, but we are making great progress. Would you all care to see what he can do?” He looked into each of our eyes inquisitively.
“If you don’t, head back to your cells now. You have ten seconds and then I shall release him.”
It was so silent you could hear a pin drop. But a violent and hungry energy filled the room, emanating from what used to be my friend.
Suddenly, over half the remaining inmates bolted for their cells out of fear. Not that I could blame them, my knees wobbled and threatened to buckle just at the sight of him.
But I stood my ground, as did a handful of others.
“Very well then. Specimen 3-1-0, engage.”
A growl reverberated through the cell block.
“Everyone rush him at once! It’s our only shot.” I hollered.
And we did, but it didn’t matter. It happened so fast. It was over before I could even comprehend it.
He moved like an animal, picking each of us apart almost in unison.
I lay on my back, unable to feel my legs as I watched Jerry be disemboweled. He was trying to shove his intestines back inside the tear in his abdomen before the creature came back to finish him off.
I did a cross over myself but didn’t bother to pray.
As Pete stood over me, with dead eyes, I knew there was no God.
He didn’t exist inside these walls.
We were abandoned.
The unheard.

DIY Media Furnityre Cooling
Ive got 4x60cm Ikea Bestå modules fitted to the wall using rails, so there is no space between the furniture and the wall. The only space that can be used to induce and extract air from the furniture is the left side of the left-most module and the right side of the right-most module, and the bottom of each module. I can also move air between the modules.
My goal is to be able to keep the doors closed at all times, even if the tech inside is under stress. Right now it gets way too hot and I need to keep the doors of the modules that have power consuming tech in them open during operation.
For now i Have one AVR and a PS5. I want to avoid placing any of them outside the cabinet in order to keep it clean and avoid annoying light pollution in the room.
Here is quick sketch i made that might be sufficient, as Im guessing exhausts beneath the tech might be a waste of money due to the tech it self constricting air flow to the fans mounted here.
Im thinking about using 5x120mm PC Fans (Phanteks SK 120 PWM for example), a USB switch to provide power to each fan (such as CY BOX IB-AC618 USB Hub/Port), some usb to molex cable converters and perhaps one or as many potentiometers as needed to control fan speed (noise) unless there are some smarter solutions to do this without using a PC.
PS: There are already 60mm holes between all modules horizotally in their side-back corners, to enable cables flowing to devices in all modules and to feed speakers cables directly from the top of the nearest section to the speaker (1 (LF speaker cable and HDMI to TV), 3 (center speaker cable) and 5 (RF speaker cable)). There is also a 60-80mm hole under cabinet 1 where all power cables come in from underneath the bench and where sound cables to SWF and surroundspeakers and other HDMI devices leave the AVR (module 1 is basically the cable mess and small device compartment).
Looking for feedback on airflow cooling in my case from people who have done something similiar them selves before I start buyt stuff and cutting more holes :)
Colors on arrows are how hot I expect the air to be leaving each module, relative to the exterior air (blue).

It's cold. But when it's winter it must be cold. And that's the problem. You either have to pay for heat or get tired with getting coal or wood, starting the fire and checking it doesn't spread. Going out is a torture. You have to put in a dozen layers of clothes. Underwear, pants, short-sleeved shirt, long-sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, boots, neck warmer, hat, gloves. To go out to a shop that is on the ground level or just around the corner, you need all this wearing and getting tired. Winter clothes are heavy, limit motions, sometimes even visibility, and are hard to put on and put off. So buying those is hard and even if you do, then they're hard to walk in. Summer and spring don't have those problems, because you can put on clothes for outdoors and indoors, just change boots and you're alright.
And winter is such a great time to get sick. And the worst thing is having a stuffed nose and have to breathe with your mouth, with this cold air. Throat damage guaranteed, plus this pain in the face from the cold air blowing in your direction. Summer and spring don't have such problems. And winter has the highest amount of deaths of all the seasons. I literally got a frostbite because I touched snow with my bare hands because I didn't have gloves on them. And if you're healthy and put on the clothes, there's another problem.
Getting around. Most of us are rich and have a car and can drive wherever they want. But if you can't, you have to use public transit. I don't have anything about just using it or the fact of the existence of public transit, but the quality of those in Poland, where I live, leaves much to be desired. You have to wait, in cold. In a city this isn't a problem as big as in the rural areas where buses function. These are often coming only in early mornings and in early afternoon, but even if they come more often, they often are late. And no matter the location, you often have to stand, and even if you find a seat, you can sometimes smell people who don't shower very often. Trams, trains, metros and buses are often heated, like most indoor places, we'll get to that later, and people coming there in winter are usually in jackets and sweat in those vehicles, especially considering how crowded they often get and how warm those crowded people are. You'll sweat like a construction worker after 8 hours of work during a heatwave. And driving doesn't save you from the effects of winter. You have to scrape snow from your car, the engine can not start or the visibility is low and roads are blocked or icy, you can skid easily and crash into another car, a pedestrian, a pole or a tree. Walking does neither. If snow falls, it's crushed by people walking, melts and freezes again, and or forms ice on the sidewalk. And you can slip on it and either break something or die. Each time I walk on it, I think I'm gonna die. Either i slip on it and land on a spiked fence, I land on the sidewalk and break something, or I land on the street and get run over by a semi truck or a car. If you manage to get to your destination, there's another problem.
All the buildings are heated, so if you're in winter clothes, you're going to sweat like a construction worker after 8 hours of work during a heatwave.
It's dark half the day. You go to work or school, dark, you go back, dark. And the other half it's cloudy and grey. And the whole world dies. No leaves, no grass, no flowers, some animals hibernate, just grey, cloudy skies and white brown combination of snow, soil, water and mud. No sun. Sure, there are Christmas lights but let's face it, they are only to hide the grey and dark.
It's a hard time for students. The semester ends. You have to pass everything. They throw a lot of tests and quizzes at you. You will tire yourself to death.
Winter sports and games. Snowballs. I hate snowballs. Even if the person who throws one is someone I like. Usually, I take it easy, but in my mind, I hate it. Ice skating. I can't do that because the nearest lake or skating rink is too far away to walk. I could afford that, but I would need to wear all those clothes, get on the bus, ask my parents for approval, get back. No way. Skiing. I live in a city surrounded by forests and farm fields. No way. Sledding. Those are easier because I have some hills in my neighborhood, but going out, taking the sled, going back. Nope. Snowman. Going out. No.
And there are, CHRISTMAS IN WINTER. I'm fed up with them. Literally a few days after Halloween and All Saints Day, all the shops and malls are decorated, and Christmas songs are playing on the radio and Christmas commercials on TV. "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart...":“Christmas promotion! Bone carp, only 21.37 per package or a withered Christmas tree, 69.69 each plus delivery for 3.21. Holidays for Christmas, Old Zealand, 666.66 both ways. Christmas loans, only in Pierogi Bank Polski." Don't take Christmas loans, that's the stupidest thing you can do in that time of the year. They're still up everywhere, wherever I go, whatever I look at. Until the day finally arrives, December 24, when you are completely fed up with it. And it's not like I hate Christmas. Christmas in their current shape and theme are asking for dislike. You want to get up, leave, and come back when all this madness is over. But it's nice that we have time off and we get presents and meet our family. In the summer we have more free time, and on birthdays and name days we also get gifts and meet our family. But always something. And then there's another holiday.
New Year's Eve and New Year, when humans celebrate Earth going around the Sun once again, while nothing besides it happens in nature and humanity on those two days. You can do whatever you want on that day, and in my case, it'll be sitting on the couch in pajamas, watching TV and eating some unhealthy snacks like chips. Most people will spend it partying with friends and family and doing stuff together. And then, they will count from 10 to 1 like if a rocket was starting, and then fireworks explore, and dogs are scared. Afterwards, people will start to go home. And then you can't sleep the whole night because some idiots have too much fireworks and firecrackers, which is also a problem the whole winter.

2023.06.07 13:30 BaseballSeveral1107 CMV: Winter is the worst season

2023.06.07 13:22 IcyTransportation460 Another brick in the wall

Hello everyone,
Sorry for yet another brick thread, yesterday it happened to me too. I updated my miyoo mini plus to latest onion os dev (beta-dev-072c73c), it went good. Then I played TOONSTRUCK (scummvm) as usually. When you want exit from that game and you press menu it goes blank screen and you must reboot device. As we know this problem may be connected with auto-save feature and disabling it should solve it, but anyway i didn't know it by that time. So after playing a while I copied another language version of game and it didn't run on scummvm. It failed for finding 'toon.dat'. Also scummvm menu kinda changed its interface , it went to like dos design with black and green font color. After shutting down it went completely to black screen and never turned on again.
So for now I have 'bricked' miyo. Only green and blue lights turn on, nothing else. Tried everything from every instruction, brick flash images/other images, 2 differend sd cards (sandisk and included card), low level formatting and etc. Nothing worked. I have a feeling that no step helped in resurrection of miyo, reaction of device still the same, no slight changes.
Maybe any new insturctions or ideas or something what could help? Thanks in advance.

SAR-21 Weapon Light
Does anyone know the make model of weapon light that had the on/off button that replaced the button cover on the handguard? The light was mounted at the 11 or 1 o’clock position and the cable went under the handguard with the activation button taking one of the button ports up front. I can’t find anything on if it was a light or just a switch. Thanks

2023.06.07 13:21 Floridamanridesagain [WTS] I built a WWSD upper. It works great, but I don't like it. Please buy it.

Timestamp: https://i.imgur.com/MzatDnI.jpeg
Complete build list:
BCG: Bad Attitude Department. Bad Kitty marking on rear of BCG.
CH: Radian Raptor SD
Upper: Battle Arms Development Lightweight Billet Upper Receiver
Barrel: Faxon Match Series 16" Gunner, .223 Wylde, Mid-Length, 416-R Stainless QPQ Nitride, 5R, Nickel Teflon Extension (SKU 15BW8M16NGQ-5R-NP3, this is the match barrel with the NP3 barrel extension) https://faxonfirearms.com/faxon-match-series-16-gunner-223-wylde-mid-length-416-r-stainless-qpq-nitride-5r-nickel-teflon-extension-ar-15-barrel/
Rail: JAG Composites SFH 15"
Gas block: Wojtek Weaponry 0.625" set screw "infinitely adjustable"
Optic: Primary Arms SLx 3x microprism, green illumination
Asking $1000 + actual shipping. Roughly 600 rounds through the barrel, just enough to break it in properly, zero the optic, get the gas block adjusted, and have a little fun. Handguard was NOT mounted for any range trips, since I was making sure the gas block was set up correctly, so the handguard is practically brand new.
Payment via Zelle preferred, can also take Venmo or PayPal F&F.
As for what I don't like about it, having a 16" upperifle this light just feels... Weird to me. I'll be sticking with my SBRs.
I am willing to split this up, BUT... The barrel nut is titanium, and I really don't want to scratch it up, so the uppebarrel/handguard must go as a unit, and must got first. If you just want that, the price will be $588 + shipping.
After that's gone, prices are as follows, all + shipping:
BCG: $96
CH: $88
AGB & tube: $30
Optic: $220 (includes box with all the extra risers and such)

2023.06.07 13:19 GhostIsItsownGenre Why am I so sad? I want to change this energy. I have a long story. Thank you if you read it and have feedback

I'm going in deep because I want to find the source of this and change its energy. Life happens and we have no choice but to move on and I don't want this sadness to hold me back. I 39 Male never married, no kids, 6 girlfriends over 20 years. I have lived pretty simple and easy of low responsibilities. I don't get out much, especially with just myself. If I'm not at work, with friends or siblings then I'm in my room almost the whole time. I work a very social job but don't make a lot money however I can see this job with achieving my goals, utilizing my stock benefits to buy property to build a house on. My paychecks haven't been great but my stock helped me pay 20k worth of debt and have 35k of current investment. So I stay living below my means, simple and easy until I'm there. My personal life style and situation has a lot to so with it but on to what happened.
I don't think this situation is really that bad, I've seen worse with my friends and family which doesn't make me feel better, but for my own personal experience this has been pretty hard and painful. My best friend and my ex are dating, only 2 months and she (ex) got pregnant. There was a 5 month gap since we broke up before they started dating and she was with a very toxic drug addict between us. So my best friend had nothing to do between her and I not working out so I don't hate them and still their friend. She didnt leave me for him not cheated on me him, it had nothing to do with me.
I was about to never talk to my ex ever again. But since they're dating, I decided to stay friends. Never been friends with an ex before. She was a drug addict, like really bad and alcoholic, restless and had anxiety with a poor self image. But she is really good looking and fun and really sweet. So it's sad how she holds herself like that. I always tried to encourage her and show her how awesome she actually is. I know she is a good person. Shes got deep trauma too tho. She made me feel some of the most love anyone has and was really fun most fun of all my girlfriends. But at the same time she was really rude when she wasn't sweet. Her restlessness and anxiety made it hard to have her around me when we werent having fun. She said some of the most hurtful things anyone has said to me and it was the substance abuse, I think.
I had a hard time dealing with her substance abuse, she never did it around me. But it obviously had an effect. I thought several times if I should break up with her, but I still wanted to stay. After 6 months she was spending less time with me, she would be with her drug friends. So I started feeling hurt when she would bail on plans and choose to stay there instead of with me. She would say things like "if we even make it 6 months" she told me she was hard to handle and wasn't good with relationships. Not giving me much motivation. But I love her.
My personal life was in shambles, my living situation was a disaster, I barely had space in my room. I was hoarding junk. I wasn't pursuing my other goals/passions. It was 6 years since my last relationship the longest I've ever been single. I been at the lowest Ive been. I guess substance abuse is a deal breaker because I didn't really lean in, it ruined my family when I was a kid. I distanced myself instead and hoped that she would change. I would always tell her to come over instead, say things like you are allowed to have the friends you want but if you can't make the change and be sober around them then she'll have to make difficult decisions and not be around them, but that's up to you to figure out.. She couldn't do it on her own it seems. Feeling a lot of pain from her behavior and anxiety. She broke up with me after 9 months, because I wasn't in her life in the scope that she wanted. I couldn't get to her when she felt like needed me the most, when she was struggling with addiction and anxiety. Transportation issues, stubborn to buy a vehicle but managing to save money and I stayed away from the trap house where she would run into toxic people.
So I started to feel relieved actually. After the break up. Not having that around anymore, I was in so much pain from how she treated me I was about to never talk to her again, except I knew that I was a positive light for her. So she reached out a few times and I gave her my time. Things got way worse for her and her addiction. Fast forward now to my friend stepping in and getting rid of the toxic people, he picked her up, took her home and fed her and then they started dating.
She's now over 2 months clean. Which I'm proud of. I was really mad at first hearing about them dating. I remain friends with her and at that level it's good, she's been sweet and fun like how I like her. She's been a good friend. I still have feelings for her for some reason. She told me it wasn't that she didn't want to spend time with me, which at first was my assumption making me feel hurt. Although she said hurtful things, like not spending time with me so I said I felt low priority, her response was "you arent even priority." That hurt. But evidentally she felt like she wasnt priority to me. She said it was all about her substance abuse and she didn't mean any of that. So with that understanding I'm no longer mad at her or blame her. Being around her sober and clean is new to me. But jealous my friend has that after what I went through.
It's been hard to see them together. Seeing him get affection from someone who I used to get it from and I havent dated anyone since. It makes me feel lonely. But I am super grateful of her healing. So I cannot resist her chance to get better. But it seems very codependent. Why am I so sad about this? Regret for not doing what he did in order to help her the way she wanted/needed? So I didn't get to be with the healing/healthier her. She is improving and I see things present in their relationship I wanted. So that makes me jealous. It was hard to hear she is pregnant with his kid, unplanned, that she decided to keep. While when we were together, she said she wouldve had my baby if I got her pregnant. She already has 2 daughters and is a good mom, she's done good at not letting the drugs get in the way of her family. We talked about having a family. We would have if we stayed together.
But with all the pain, anger and anxiety that made me think about breaking up with her, the relief of not having her around and telling myself to not take her back if I had the chance for the sake not being lonely, why does this made me sad? She thought I didn't love her but she has no idea how hard it was for me. Seeing her healthy and healing kinda makes me want her back. But I don't know if it would even be good or not.
Either way this has pushed me a bit. I'm going through a transition. I cleaned up my room a lot and started studying on things that will help me with my goals/passions. But I've still been pretty sad and low ambition though I have been feeling some motivation to work on myself more, take care of my space and not feel sorry about myself about it and the relationship. I don't want to live like that. Thus situation makes me want to improve myself for the next person. But I feel like sadness is still holding me back.
Did I let her slip through my hands by not engaging with the problem of her addiction thay my friend did? With regret that makes me sad? Am I sad because of attachment? Seeing my friend get affection when I don't get it anymore and haven't found anyone else? Am I sad because I didn't change my living space, get a new car, work on myself to be there for her even though it would have been hard. Am I sad because it revealed to me my living situation? She pointed things out and I didn't take action fast enough to change. As she said nothing changed. But it's changing now, but not very quickly. But progress is progress
My life isn't any set back than it was before I met her. Actually it's a little better. So why am I sad? My room is getting better so I've started from here and working my way out, though I'm not doing it very quickly. I know she really cares about me and says she still needs me in her life. She was a foster child with my half brother I haven't seen since he was 2, for 25 years. I met him because of her, so she's been significant coming into my life.
Why do I feel sad seeing them have what I wanted and never got? When I don't even know if it would have been better. Cause they've been making each other mad and having some struggles. But they are having a baby and working it out it seems
Am I really sad about them? Or her? Or am I sad about myself and that's why this is motivating me to change. I've only taken a few tiny steps. My ego says its wrong, where my heart says that things manifest as they are needed. She wouldn't have had the chance to get better with the help of my best friend had I not endured that.
How do I change this energy so it doesn't hold me back from my growth, process, goals, self care, finding other relationships. Thank you for reading

See-Through Solutions: 5 Glass Door types to Uplift Your Interior

Glass door are an interesting choice for making spaces seem bigger, brighter, and more open. They let natural light in while still providing some privacy.
Combining openness and separation is possible with glass doors - openness yet separation. Glass doors are low maintenance and easy to clean.
Whether you need them for your office, kitchen, balcony, or bathroom, glass doors can really transform an ordinary room into something special.
Commercial Glass Doors
Glass doors are a great option for commercial spaces as they help create an open and inviting ambiance.
They allow natural light to filter in & give customers a glimpse into your establishment from the outside. For offices, glass doors promote transparency and make the space look more spacious and airy.
They are also low-maintenance & easy to clean. When choosing commercial glass doors, go for tempered or laminated glass which is impact-resistant and durable.
Kitchen Glass Doors
Glass doors are an ideal choice for kitchens. They make a small kitchen appear more open and roomier. Glass kitchen doors also reflect light well helping to brighten up the space.
Popular options for kitchens include framed or frameless glass doors. Framed doors have an aluminum frame with inserts of glass.
Frameless doors have a more minimalist look with hardly any frame. Both types can have frosted, patterned, or colored glass to add some privacy.
Kitchen glass doors keep cooking fumes and odors confined to the kitchen while allowing light to pass through.
Sliding Glass Door Singapore
The sliding glass door in Singapore is becoming popular for balconies, patios, and segregating spaces. They glide smoothly to save on space versus swinging doors.
Sliding glass doors allow maximum ventilation and merge indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly. They infuse natural light into the interiors and afford beautiful views.
Choose from aluminum or wood frames that can match your home's architecture. For safety, opt for tempered glass that can withstand high impacts.
Office Glass Doors
Glass doors are suited for offices as they promote an image of openness, transparency, and modernity.
They allow natural light to enter workspaces which boosts the productivity and well-being of employees. With glass doors, offices seem more spacious, airy, and illuminated. They also visually enlarge cramped rooms and passageways.
For privacy, frosted glass doors or tinted glass prevents outsiders from seeing through while still letting some light in. Glass office doors can have elegant aluminum or wooden frames to match the overall office decor.
Toilet glass door
Glass doors can add a stylish touch of elegance to toilets and powder rooms. Choose an opaque or frosted glass door that masks the interior from view for maximum privacy.
Clear glass with decorative etching is another option for an artistic flourish. Glass doors reflect light and make the toilet space look more airy and spacious.
They are also moisture-resistant and easy to clean after use. Frameless glass doors lend a sleek modern look, while aluminium frames are hardwearing and fuss-free.
Glass doors transform an ordinary toilet into an inviting, stylish retreat.
To sum up:
So, Glass doors are a worthwhile upgrade for any space in your home or office.
They build a visual connection between indoor and outdoor areas while still offering privacy. The reflective properties of glass let in natural light and make rooms seem more spacious.
So, if you're considering glass doors to upgrade your space, I'd say go for it! The right glass doors will elevate the aesthetic and functionality of any room they fill, infusing it with elegance and an open yet private feel.

2023.06.07 13:18 falconfall231 I feel behind

I feel behind the rest of my peers. For reference I graduated at the end of 2019 right into COVID after almost dropping out a couple of years before. I am in a smaller area in the south where there are not really any big businesses and mostly small businesses. I kinda just screwed around because I couldn't get anything and because of COVID. In the early and middle of 2021 I started and studied and passed the CPA exam. It took me 6 months to get an entry level staff role and I got laid off and started a new PA role recently.
I am almost 28 and feel so far behind considering I have like maybe 6 months of experience. I feel I put too much effort into the CPA instead of trying to focus on getting good jobs or trying to find good experience.
I am not the biggest fan of PA thus far. Billable hours can go fuck themselves. I was thinking of maybe trying to move somewhere like Atlanta or something where there are more jobs but the economy is so crappy and wages so low that I am scared. I don't have any "connections" either in any city except for one friend in Atlanta who isn't in accounting. I feel like a giant baby at this point and am really unhappy with where I am at in life right now.
I just want some industry, government, or finance role where I don't have to work to death for 8 hours straight and with a hybrid schedule. Am I shit out of luck or is there some light at the end of the tunnel?

2023.06.07 13:16 Vivid-Ad-1097 Spectral Charger Mount

Spectral Charger Mount
I'm having a blast with Diablo 4 and hope everyone else is as well! This mount dropped for me in a Legion Event. Reminds me of the Swift Spectral Tiger from World of Warcraft, one of probably less than a handful of mounts I ever wanted in that game. For that very reason, this is probably going to be my favorite mount in Diablo 4. Though I'm sure others may share a different opinion on that, I'm just very happy with how this mount was done and kinda wanna share the details I've uncovered(so far). If anyone knows of anything further about this, I'd love to know!
The faces(skulls?) fading in and out from its trail it leaves while moving has me mesmerized. The spectral coat is constantly changing, shifting from transparent to the thick smoky texture you see you for the horse. Photos don't do it justice.
Day time photo to show lighting difference. It has unique sounds for Mount and Spur, and I could not get tired of them. My favorite is when it's silent. 10/10 :)
On the Dismount, you can watch the spectral steed quickly fade into nothingness.

The natural sugars in plums provide a sweet taste without causing significant spikes in blood sugar levels. Including plums as a snack or in salads can help satisfy cravings and reduce calorie intake, supporting weight management efforts.
  1. Improves Cognitive Function: Plums contain certain compounds, such as anthocyanins and other antioxidants, associated with improved cognitive function. These antioxidants help protect brain cells from oxidative stress and reduce inflammation, which can contribute to cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. Regular consumption of aloo Bukhara may help maintain brain health and enhance memory and concentration.
  2. Supports Skin Health: The antioxidants present in aloo Bukhara play a crucial role in maintaining healthy skin. They help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, UV radiation, and environmental pollutants. Additionally, plums are a good source of vitamin C, which promotes collagen production—a protein that keeps the skin firm and supple. Including plums in your diet can contribute to healthy, glowing skin and may help reduce the signs of aging.
  3. Provides Hydration: Plums have a high water content, making them an excellent choice for staying hydrated. Proper hydration is essential for overall health, as it aids digestion, circulation, temperature regulation, and nutrient absorption. Eating plums can help replenish your body's water levels and contribute to optimal hydration, especially during hot weather or periods of physical activity.
  4. May Aid in Diabetes Management: Although plums contain natural sugars, they have a low glycemic index, which means they have a minimal impact on blood sugar levels. The fiber content in plums helps slow down the absorption of sugars, preventing rapid spikes in glucose levels. This makes plums a suitable fruit option for individuals with diabetes or those looking to manage their blood sugar levels.
  5. Supports Eye Health: Aloo Bukhara contains various nutrients that promote good eye health. They are a rich vitamin A source, essential for maintaining good vision, particularly in low-light conditions. Vitamin A also helps protect the eyes from age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. Additionally, the antioxidants found in plums, such as zeaxanthin and lutein, play a crucial role in protecting the eyes against damage from harmful UV rays.
  6. Reduces Inflammation: Inflammation is a natural response by the body to protect against injury or infection. However, chronic inflammation can contribute to various diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis. Aloo Bukhara contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help reduce inflammation in the body. The antioxidants in plums neutralize inflammation-causing free radicals, potentially reducing the risk of chronic inflammatory conditions.
  7. Supports Healthy Hair: Aloo Bukhara contains essential nutrients like vitamin C, iron, and antioxidants, which are beneficial for maintaining healthy hair. Vitamin C aids in producing collagen, a protein that supports hair structure and strength. Iron helps transport oxygen to the hair follicles, promoting healthy hair growth. The antioxidants in plums help protect the hair follicles from oxidative stress and damage, reducing the risk of hair breakage and promoting lustrous, shiny hair.
  8. Regulates Blood Pressure: The potassium content in aloo Bukhara plays a vital role in regulating blood pressure. Potassium acts as a vasodilator, helping to relax the blood vessels and lower blood pressure. Incorporating plums into your diet can support cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of hypertension and related complications.
  9. May Aid in Weight Loss: Aloo Bukhara can be a valuable addition to a weight loss diet due to its low calorie and high fiber content. The fiber in plums promotes feelings of fullness and helps control appetite, reducing the likelihood of overeating. Additionally, the natural sugars in plums provide a sweet taste without the added calories of processed sweets, making them a healthier alternative for satisfying sugar cravings while maintaining a calorie-controlled diet.
  10. Supports Liver Health: The antioxidants and phytonutrients found in aloo Bukhara help support liver health and function. The liver is crucial in detoxifying the body and eliminating harmful substances. The antioxidants in plums aid in reducing oxidative stress on the liver and promote its overall well-being. Including plums in your diet can contribute to a healthier liver and improve detoxification processes.
  11. Alleviates Menstrual Discomfort: For women experiencing menstrual discomfort, aloo Bukhara can offer some relief. Plums contain certain compounds with anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce pain and cramping associated with menstruation. Consuming plums during this time may provide natural relief and contribute to a more comfortable menstrual cycle.
  12. Enhances Nutrient Absorption: Aloo Bukhara contains certain compounds that enhance the absorption of nutrients from other foods. Specific acids in plums, such as citric acid and malic acid, can aid in breaking down and absorbing essential nutrients like iron, calcium, and other minerals from your food. Including plums in your meals may help optimize nutrient absorption and improve overall nutritional status.
Conclusion:
Aloo Bukhara, or plums, continue to impress with their health benefits. Plums are versatile and nutritious fruit, from promoting healthy hair and supporting liver health to aiding weight loss and enhancing nutrient absorption. By incorporating aloo Bukhara into your diet, you can enjoy its delicious taste while reaping its numerous advantages for your overall health and well-being. 2023.06.07 12:55 Alemit000 [Gulikit Kingkong 2 Pro] Any way to check battery charge on PC?

I know that mode lights flash when battery is low but is there anything more precise than that? Aside from the orange light going out when it's fully charged. Seems like a basic QoL feature in a wireless device and yet I can't find any info about that...
