2023.06.07 11:17 AffectionateFocus190 A friend of mine committed suicide at 9 years old.
Throwaway account since I'm young.
Back in primary school when I was in 2nd grade my older brother had a friend that I'll call Tim. Older brother and Tim would play at either one of our houses, not video games, more horsing around. Older brother, Tim and another friend would be at school together. Tim wasn't popular with others and got bullied on the bus, people spat on him as they got off the bus. One time there was a heated argument in which the other kid yelled something along the lines of kys. I don't think it was long after when he hung himself in his closet. When I was told by my mum on a Friday afternoon that he died, I cried but didn't understand what suicide was. On Monday we had an assembly where we released blue balloons (his favourite colour) into the sky in his honour. We were all told he was bitten by a snake in his house as to not upset us. Only 1 teacher, around 50 years told us what happened. She went to attend his funeral. He shouldn't have died
He would have turned 18 in 2025.

2023.06.07 10:31 dwredbaker Rulers should exemplify temperance~D. W. "Red" Baker
Ecclesiastes 10:16,17~" Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!"
"Woe to thee O land"~A woe is pronounced upon a land, for nations depends strength depends upon sober and diligent rulers.
- The child here is not of age, but rather childish, foolish leaders sobriety of a mind controls by wisdom.
- The conjunctive and indicates the child is compared to excessive luxury by princes, or leaders, if you will.
- the next verse indicates the child king is contrasted to a king with nobility and proper training.
- What does a childish king/leader do? They play rather than soberly engage themselves for his nation, the people he is serving. He does not rule/guide the government which he is over, to practice temperance.
- This world has had a few excellent rulers, but ONLY a few.
- King James 1 of England wrote a commentary on revelation at the young age of 18. The issue is not age, but character, self-discipline, and gravity. In my lifetime, I have yet to see one such leader.
- A nation is on the brink of destruction when its leaders are foolish and luxurious. Much of what we see in our day!
And they princes eat in the morning~There is no sin in eating breakfast, but the lust of the flesh for luxurious gluttony and drunkenness is sin, which our next verse indicates is the foolish corruption under consideration.
So obsessed with partying that they start early and do it often.
We all have been there:
1st Peter 4:2,3................ "
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:"
Apart from the grace of God would still be there, enjoying every minute of it. But such a lifestyle of gluttony, drunkenness, are ruinous. Destruction is just right around the corner.
Blessed art thou, O land when they king is the son of nobles~The issue is not birthright, but rather the character and proper training. The primary issue in any leader or ruler is an issue of
character! Exodus 18:21; 1st Timothy 3:1-13. And they princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness. - Temperance, contrary to the Temperance Movement, is moderation, not abstinence.
- We live in the days of eating, drinking, in an excess, which we must avoid. Moderation in ALL things is the mark we all should aim for and set an examples for our children and their children to follow.
- The excess of food and alcohol corrupts one's sensibilities in many ways. Proverbs 30:7-9......
"
Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain."
What did Agur request? He then asked God to give him only convenient and modest success (
Pr 30:8). He wanted to avoid both poverty and wealth, knowing that each brought its own set of temptations and trials (
Pr 30:9). He did not pray against both for the carnal difficulties each could bring, but rather for their effect on His love of God. Riches could puff up his mind and turn him away from God (
Pr 18:11;
28:11;
I Tim 6:6-10), and poverty could lead him to steal and disgrace God’s name (
Pr 1:10-19;
6:30-31).
These two requests were very wise and noble. Agur did not use prayer to satisfy his lusts, as most men do when they pray (
Jas 4:3). He sought the glory of God, the truth, and the spiritual good of his soul, even if it meant sacrificing some success. As in Solomon’s case, obtaining wisdom to please God was more important than riches (
I Kgs 3:5-13). As with Moses, reproach with God’s people was better than sinful pleasures (
Heb 11:24-26).

2023.06.07 04:58 sleepybullmoose Rearranging Ringer Mock Draft Lottery Picks (Player Comps and Projections)
Methodology: I looked at highlights of every player, glanced at their stats, and noted down the nba player of was reminded of the most when seeing them play.
Ringer Rankings
- Victor Wembayama
Worst Case: always injured, Best Case: 7ft 4 Tim Duncan (HOF)
Explanation: Victor has good defensive instincts and offensive skillset. Couple that with his tremendous size, and you get someone who could potentially become GOAT. Only barriers to HOF will be injury.
- Brandon Miller
Worst Case: Fringe starter, Best Case: Poor Man's Kevin Durant
Explanation: Great shooting stats in college. Bad defensive stats. Movement reminds me a lot of KD but with worse stats. A big forward with good spacing will at worst be a fringe starter in the NBA. Basically if Jabari Smith was bad at Defense but much better at scoring.
- Scoot Henderson
Worst Case: backup pg, Best Case: Westbrook with shot and higher IQ
Explanation: Very explosive, strong body, good handles and footwork. Bad shot, bad defense, and injuries will prevent him from reaching ceiling. Good athleticism and IQ should make him a career backup at worst.
- Cam Whitmore
Worst Case: Bust, Best Case: Charles Barkley
Explanation: Plays like a ball handling big man stuck in the body of a wing. Explosive leaper but lacks the effortless of Scoot and the Thompsons. Shooting is supposedly iffy, Barkley-esque in his movements. If his offense does not work out he will struggle to stay in the league given his lackluster defense.
- Jarace Walker
Worst Case: Role Player, Best Case: Draymond Green/PJ Tucker
Explanation: Big body but plays under the rim indicating lack of explosiveness. Bad shooting stats. Good feet, will be a defensive specialist. Could stay in the league as situational defense only player. Needs to improve offense if they wish to stay on court. Similar game to Draymond minus the playmaking. DPOY potential if he can find ways to stay on the court.
- Amen Thompson
Worst Case: Bust, Best Case: Skinny Zion
Explanation: Very interesting player due to OTE. Amazing athlete, glides effortlessly across the court. I see him more as an undersized point forward than a wing or guard. Body control at rim and explosion is like Zion. Good playmaking but see him more as a secondary facilitator than a primary. If the outside shot never comes through he will have to become a DPOY level player otherwise he will become a bust.
- Taylor Hendricks
Worst Case: Role player, Best Case: Better Jonathan Isaac
Explanation: Good shooting stats, good length, and good defensive instincts. Bad ball handling forces him to play the big man role. DPOY potential.
- Ausar Thompson
Worst Case: Bust, Best Case: Better Jaylen Brown
Explanation: Better shot than his brother. Less of a guard game. Plays more like a wing. Reminds me of a young Jaylen Brown but more athletic. Shot is still worrisome but supposedly less than Amen's.
- Anthony Black
Worst Case: Fringe starter, Best Case: Jason Kidd
Explanation: Surprisingly athletic despite complaints. I see him as a mix between Lonzo and Lamelo. Not the defender that Lonzo is and not the scoreball handler that Lamelo is but somewhere in between. If someone told me that Black was the true third Ball brother (not LiAngelo) I wouldn't really question it. Good size. If he can play defense and he can space, I at worst, see him as a fringe starter.
- Cason Wallace
Worst Case: Role player, Best Case: Mini Jimmy Butler
Explanation: Funny enough he has the same wingspan as Jimmy Butler. Cason isn't the most explosive PG but he knows how to make good use of his length a little bit like Jalen Williams. Good defense, scoring potential, and the Kentucky guard stereotype could end up with a solid backup at minimum.
- Gradey Dick
Worst Case: Role player, Best Case: Reggie Miller
Explanation: Good body control at rim. Good shooting stats. Looks like he has some ball handling game. Not sure about defense but he at least looks like he will have a solid Nba career at minimum. Plays like a taller player. Given the right opportunity, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being one of the best players in this draft.
- Derek Lively
Worst Case: Bust, Best Case: Mitchell Robinson
Explanation: Plays a lot like Mitch in his college games. Horrible shooting stats. Defense only bigs aren't as valuable in the league anymore. Could very easily bust out of the league if he gets injured early.
- Jalen Hood-Schifino
Worst Case: Role Player, Best Case: Less Athletic Dame with worse shooting
Explanation: Decent athleticism. Good size. Looks like he has potential of driving and finishing, being a secondary playmaker. I see his best case as being a borderline all star.
- Keyonte George
Worst Case: Role player, Best Case: Deangelo Russel with better shooting worse playmaking
Explanation: Has that sluggish nonathletic feel to his game. Similar size to Dlo. His shooting form looks better but his stats are worse.
My Ranking:
My ranking of the prospects based on floor
- Victor (AllNBA1st/AllDef1st/DPOY)
- Scoot (AllNBA1st)
- Miller (AllNBA2nd)
- Anthony Black (All StaAllDef)
- Cason Wallace (All StaAllDef)
- Dick (All Star)
- Taylor Hendricks (DPOY/AllDef)
- Jarace Walker (DPOY/AllDef)
- Cam
- JHS
- Keyonte
- Ausar
- Amen
- Lively
Ranking of prospects based on ceiling
- Victor (MVP/HOF)
- Amen (MVP/HOF)
- Scoot (MVP/HOF)
- Cam Whitmore (HOF)
- Anthony Black (HOF)
- Ausar (HOF)
- Miller (HOF)
- Dick (AllNBA)
- Cason (AllNBA)
- Taylor Hendricks (AllNBA)
- Jarace (AllNBA)
- JHS (AllNBA)
- Keyonte (AllStar)
- Lively (AllStar)
Admittedly, the floor and ceiling rankings are way too generous and there are probably going to be players drafted after the lottery who will end up better than the ones in the lottery. I would probably drop some of the recruits here out of the lottery.

2023.06.07 04:15 CrimsonLaw77 Out of all the recent Finals teams, the Heat are most similar to the 2014 Spurs.
Very few teams get to the Finals without entering the playoffs with at least one player is a fairly consensus top-10 player in the league. By my estimate, the only teams do that in recent memory are the 2014 Spurs and the 2005 Pistons.
As much as we all have respect for Butler, I don’t believe he was a top-10 consensus player coming into this post season (would anyone have taken him, before this run, ahead of: Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Tatum, Luka, Booker, Curry, Durant, Dame, or Lebron?).
With that in mind, I think this Heat team reminds me a lot of 2013-14 Spurs. Duncan compares to Jimmy, in that they are/were both well respected older stars, who sort of laid low through the regular season but could still level up for the most important moments in the playoffs. Obviously career wise, Duncan is very different. But I think the role they play on the respective teams, in these particular years, is similar.
And on that Spurs team, like this Heat team, you had a lot of really crafty, not highly touted, home-grown role players who had been through playoff wars, who knew how to lock in and play very cohesive.
Parker is comparable to Bam in that they were both fringe all stars on the years in question, and both could have killer nights, but not every night.
Lowry plays a similar role for the Heat to what Ginobili did in his last few Spurs years. Even Caleb Martin had his “young Kawhi” breakout series against the Celtics. And Diaw is fairly comparable to Love as an older, high-IQ big man that has matchup dependent minutes.
When you break down the individual parts, each seems a lot more like a 0.500 team (which, the Heat were) than a Finals team.
But each has the right mix of elite coaching from Pop/Spo, veteran leadership that has seen playoff wars together, and really special chemistry, that has led each group to a really fun Finals run.
Would love to get the input of others on what the most comparable Finals team is from a historical perspective to this really miraculous Heat team we’re seeing.

― Uncle Iroh The Daughter that Follows Chapter 27 Reunited Part 5 “So, are we all ready?” Darius asked as he rolled out a second grill in his backyard. He had decided to host the mini-reunion for Alan and his friend.
“We are so friggin’ ready.” Kenji grinned. “I can almost taste the meat...”
“Why is he acting like he hasn’t had meat in forever?” Alan asked Brooklynn while pointing to her husband.
“I wish I knew, he has his own grill.” Brooklyn shook her head. “Cooks good corn.”
“Speaking of, I got these for you.” Alan held up several cobs. “Won’t be a competition because Vegeta thinks vegetables are a sin.”
Brooklyn rolled her eyes, “I know the type.”
“So...” Sammie pointed into Darius’ house. “Is your other guest okay?”
“He’s fine, he just doesn’t like the sun that much.” Alan grinned.
“He’s a vampire.” Yaz said.
“Don’t say that.” Sammie chided her wife.
“Technically he’s a nosferatu.” Alan wavered his hand. “But also be quiet, I want Anna surprised, and Salem surprised.”
“Why is he getting surprised?” Kenji asked.
Yaz smiled, “You didn’t pay attention to his shirt, did you?”
“I think he might be a fan of Alan’s friend.” Sammie said.
Not a moment after that a hole opened above Darius’ driveway. They heard Ben shout in surprise as he fell out with Anna and Vegeta.
“You know, you’re brave...” Vegeta said, “But you need to have more spatial awareness if you’re not gonna fly.”
“We can’t fly here.” Ben said as he was flown over Darius’ roof and sat down.
“Where’s Anna?” Alan asked.
“She saw someone attacking Spider-Men.” Vegeta shrugged.”Dropped us off and ran off.”
“Oh.” Alan blinked.
“Yeah, it looked like some wasp thingy.” Vegeta flew back and returned with a huge slab of meat. “Wagusaurus.”
Alan stopped to think for a moment before another hole in reality opened and Anna walked through covered in orange and green gunk.
“Hose?” She asked grumpily.
Darius pointed to the side of his house.
“So I take it, it squished good?” Salem snickered from the sliding door.
Anna froze and looked up. Then she looked at her father.
“Surprise.” Alan smirked.
Anna ran up and hugged her father. “That’s for surprising me.”
Alan nodded. “I kinda figured.”
Salem was laughing like mad as Anna went to hose herself off. Then he froze as he saw Vegeta cutting up the meat.
“Surprise.” Alan smiled and tapped Vegeta on the shoulder. “You gotta fan here, man.”
“Huh?” Vegeta turned to see the fanged nosferatu staring and pointing. “Hey, you want to help? This stuff is heavy.”
Salem just nodded and helped the saiyan prince separate out the meat.
Anna came walking back around the corner, she had used her aura to squeeze the water from her clothes and skin, though her hair was still wet. She giggled as her father simply eradicated the gunk that was on his clothes.
“Thank you.” Anna smiled up at Alan.
“Yeah, well he’ll be going with you.” Alan smiled. “Plus this needed to happen outside of a battle zone.”
“Oh yeah.” Anna nodded emphatically. “Completely.”
Alan smiled as he clapped his hands. “All right! Everyone get ready for a taste test sensation! Except Brooklynn, I’ll have your corn done not long after.”
“What is she vegetarian?” Vegeta snapped.
“Vegan.” Brooklyn said as she crossed her arms.
“I make meat.” Vegeta crossed his arms as if to challenge her.
“Good for you, my husband is who you want to impress.” She nodded to Kenji.
“Huh, fair.” Vegeta nodded. “Why is he staring at the grills?”
“He grills too, but for fun.” Brooklynn smiled.
“Hey, amateur!” Vegeta stomped forward.
Kenji flinched. “Yes?”
“You’re my second.” Vegeta grinned.
Kenji smiled and saluted, “Yes sir!”
“Ben, you got my stuff?” Alan asked.
“Stuff?” Vegeta asked as Ben walked out with a wheeled tray filled with cooking paraphernalia.
“Oh, now we’re getting serious!” Vegeta grinned. “Anna, you got my stuff?”
Anna nodded and tossed out a pink and blue capsule that turned into another wheeled tray with similar cooking tools on it.
“Just so we’re clear, I’m recusing myself.” Anna smiled.
“Clever girl.” Vegeta stared at her with a vicious smile..
“Man if you knew the history of that phrase here.” Alan shook his head. “All right folks, quarter of a steak each for the taste testing. Be honest, put your fork on the plate you like most.”
“Do we get ketchup?” Anna asked with a devious grin.
Both men stopped and glared.
“I found the heckler.” Alan said through gritted teeth.
“Considering her parentage, I’m not surprised.” Vegeta nodded.
(T)(D)(T)(F)---(T)(F)(T)(W) Darkseid paced on Apokalips.
He had been shunted back to his planet and reality with ease by the ghostly reaper. He had been embarrassed for the last time by the Scions. He would not tolerate it anymore.
“Kalibak!” He shouted for his son.
Kalibak came forward and kneeled. “Father.”
“Prepare all to attack Earth. If I cannot go to them I will draw them to me. We will slaughter Superman's adopted homeworld.” Darkseid grinned.
The sound of chains echoed through the halls.
“Alice?” Hare lifted his head.
“She’s coming...” March Hare’s vocalizer on the back of the warbeast he was attached to, sang to life.
Soon a woman in white with red on a half mask walked into view.
“And who are you?” Darkseid asked.
“I am called Kyton. I come from Alan Quain’s home reality.” She said as the chains holding Hare released him. “I am the Revenant of Heroes, element of metal.” March Hare’s brain case released itself and fell to the ground.
“FREEDOM!” The brains’ final thoughts shouted from the vocalizer.
“You will keep them no longer!” Kyton’s chains flew from openings and snagged the ragged body of Hare into a swirling portal.
“So it is war!” Darkseid grinned as lanced out a punch, but a wall of crystal rose up from the ground.
“I’m here to asshole.” Stephen Quain walked in as the air around all of Darkseid’s forces turned to solid crystalline bindings. “And we brought an old friend.”
A scream of rage tore through the air as a clown mask landed at Darkseid’s feet.
Darkseid looked down and was caught by a powerful uppercut, but it was nothing to him. He did recognize his opponent, they had taken him form Quain’s home reality and tormented him. They had tried to shatter the mask he wore only to find it resisted them at all attempts. He wore a new mask now, but Darkseid felt the same hidden power inside it. He grinned and grabbed the human’s fist and tossed him back.
“Dammnit!” SideEffect shouted. “If I could feel those bones I’d be even more pissed!”
“And now I am...” Darkseid looked outside his window to see a series of explosions ripple across Apokalips.
A man flew down to his window, a billowing red cape.
“I’m afraid not, Darkseid, this is the Scion’s war.” Superman smiled. “We’re just helping.” He flew in and slammed the leader of Apokalips through the walls.
Kyton looked at Stephen Quain, “Don’t kill the sapient ones.”
Stephne rolled his eyes. “Just because I have a history with the hairball doesn’t mean I’m trigger happy.”
Kalibak looked around in confusion. The crystal bindings were all too familiar and he looked at the human in fear. “Can you please not turn me into crystal again? It really hurts.”
Stephen rolled his eyes.
(T)(D)(T)(F)---(T)(F)(T)(W) In the black space above Apokalips, a green form looked down upon the world. A scythe and sword were by his side, as was a young pale skinned woman. She shook her head but did not oppose the Scion.
“You started this early.” Death of the Endless sighed. “Why?”
“Because it’s the one thing no one would expect me to actually do.” Wraith drew his daggers from his side and looked them over. His black blade still had a knick in it from when a piece broke off in Atropos. “So I’ll make sure this entire war is off balance.”
Death of the Endless shook her head. “I think she got under your skin. So to speak.”
“She did.” Wraith acknowledged. “For this I am not Death. For this I am the endless rage of the murdered and unavenged. She wants this fight, I’ll give it to her, but on my terms.”
“What are your friends doing?” Death of the Endless looked down.
One half of Apokolips was now thoroughly exploded with mechanical animals running rampant over it. The other half was now a flower covered paradise that had strange trees restraining the parademons and other forces.
“What they do best.” Wraith smiled. “Chaos and Imbalance.”
“And what can we do?” The voice of Astral, Scion of Order asked as he appeared.
“Cage of this reality, separate it from itself.” Wraith leaned on his scythe.
“Shadow reality?” Astral asked.
Wraith nodded.
“I’m gonna need my buddy down there.” Astral nodded.
“I’m your buddy?!” Perfection cooed as he appeared. “Hiya D.o.E.! How’s Delirium?”
“Delerious.” Death of the Endless smiled with a nod.
“All right!” Perfection cheered. “One shadow realm coming up!” He snapped his fingers and a wig very similar to a popular card game anime character’s hair appeared on his head and his clothes shifted to a similar style.
“Does that mean I have to be Kaiba?” Astral sighed.
“Would you?” Perfection asked with a pleading look.
“Okay, fine. This once.” Astral sighed and his trench coat shifted to that of another coat similar to the other one’s rival.
“I’m not watching this.” Wraith sighed as he vanished.
“Man, what a party pooper.” Perfection sighed. “Well it’s time to get twisted!”
(T)(D)(T)(F)---(T)(F)(T)(W) Anna sat watching her friends and her father. Everyone was relaxed and the party was winding to a close. Vegeta was busy going over a speech with her dad and Salem was busy trying to understand how Ben survived a Carnotaurus as a teenager with no powers.
“We will go to our final battle soon.” Rio sat beside her enjoying some of the last steak.
“Well not our last.” Anna smiled.
Rio shook her head. “I cannot go with you beyond this.”
Anna looked at Rio. “Did I say something, do something?”
Rio shook her head. “I have a responsibility I too will be stepping into, at Arceus’ last request.”
Anna hugged Rio. “You could have said something.”
“I was conflicted.” Rio admitted, “But it was Arlina that made me realize I had to do it.”
Anna nodded. “You’ll always be my sister.”
“You will always be welcome in my world.” Rio smiled and gave a happy yip.
Anna smiled. “Bonds beyond life and death.”
“Bonds beyond time and space.” Rio said as a compliment to it. “I will cherish the time we have had together.”
Anna smiled and held up the pokeball.
“Oh no,we still need that, I don’t want to travel the multiverse exposed to it!” Rio barked nervously.
Anna laughed. “Okay, One last big adventure.”
“Once more unto the breach, my friends.” Alan said as he sat next to them.
“What?” Anna asked.
“The Bard himself.” Alan smiled. “Henry the Fifth.”
Anna nodded. “I’m scared.”
Alan nodded. “So am I. I could lose the most important people to me. But it has to stop, she has to be stopped, he has to be stopped. No more.”
Anna nodded.
“Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more, Or close the wall up with our English dead.” Yaz said. “Act Three, Scene One.”
“Indeed.” Alan smiled and nodded. “I better pick up Teal’c and the other’s too.”
Anna looked at her father quizzically.
“He sounds a lot like Kratos. But he enjoys breaking False gods, so...” He paused. “Disturbingly coincidental hobbies.”
Anna giggled.
“How many of my friends have that hobby?” Alan pondered aloud.
Vegeta jumped up and waved his hand.
“No, Vegeta. Frieza was not a false god.” Alan sighed.
“Fair.” Vegeta harrumphed.
“Well I have to get this all cleaned up tomorrow.” Darius sighed.
Alan gave a baring laugh.
“What?” Darius asked.
“Darius.” Anna scoffed, “We aren’t trashy guests...” She focused and Hong Long came out from her aura and quickly began to pick up trash.
Alan simply focused on various small bits that flew to the trash cans. Within minutes the backyard and the grills were sparkling.
“Kami, do I miss the easy cleanups...” Vegeta sighed. “You know the stars here are bit different, but I like’em.”
Anna smiled and began to point out the constellations. Soon though Alan, Anna and their guests returned to the Camp for one more night of rest.
When they got back Anna and Alan crashed within minutes, Vegeta and Salem were still up staring out at the stars.
“You feel it?” Vegeta asked.
“Like a cat with its hackles up.” Salem nodded.
“What do you do, to keep her safe?” Vegeta asked.
“Got some magic, but mostly I use big guns.” Salem said. “I can hack, but it’s a tertiary skill nowadays. If I get pissed I can jack my bodies’ power up, but not anywhere near as powerful as you.”
Vegeta nodded. “Willing to die?”
“For them?” Salem just nodded.
“Good.” Vegeta nodded. “He wants me up front with Darkseid. How do you think I’ll fair?”
“Depends.” Salem shrugged, “What’s your newest technique?”
“Well I developed a bit of an Ego, if you will.” Vegeta grinned.
“No, not with Darkseid.” Salem shook his head. “Definitely poor on the aggression, but you do not want to take a hit. Especially the Omega Beams, you can’t dodge them, you can only put others in front of them.”
(T)(D)(T)(F)---(T)(F)(T)(W) “He wasn’t there.” Consumption hissed. “Not even a trace of him.”
Atropos blinked in shock. She felt for certain Wraith would retreat to the Gates of Hell in their home reality. That he wasn’t there was a shock.
“That’s because he’s off picking a fight with Darkseid.” Odin shook his head. “Your plans aren’t coming together, Norn.”
“Don’t call me that.” Atropos said in an off-sweet tone. “I write fates, they make a show of them.”
Odin grunted. He was starting to regret working with this woman.
“As I said it doesn’t matter.” Atropos shoved her hand into her leg, golden ichor rolled out as she pulled an obsidian black shard from her leg. “A piece of his Sin left to remember him by.”
“I can use that.” Sindri shot up, “That will work” He walked over and held out his hands.
Atropos smiled and dropped it in his open palms. The sharp piece struck into the dwarf’s hand and his grief flashed before his eyes and he clutched his hand around the piece as he roared in pain. He forced himself over to his work table and pried it out of his own hand.
Atropos watched in shock.
“It wants you to suffer under your own guilt.” Sindri winced. “Vicious piece, but it has a piece of him, more than enough.”
“Then let Undeath Echo through the multiverse.” Atropos roared with laughter.
Odin watched the woman and slowly tilted his head towards her, then to Sindri. He nodded slowly as he realized what was happening. He had to get out of this mad house and fast.
(T)(D)(T)(F)---(T)(F)(T)(W) Anna stretched as Hong Long coiled about in the sky, doing his own version of warming up. Alan yawned as he said his goodbyes to his co-workers and bosses.
Dr. Grant handed him a book, an old one signed by another Paleontologist. Quain grinned as he put the book signed by Tim Murphy into his bag. Dr. Ellie Sattler just gave him a hug. Dr. Wu who had the hardest time saying goodbye, despite the few words the two ever exchanged they had become good friends and trusted each other.
“Don’t go bad or I’ll be back.” Alan smiled.
“I don’t think I can anymore.” Wu smiled.
“He’s got the heart!” Anna shouted. “He took a while to grow into it though!”
Dr. Wu smiled and waved. “Take care of her, she still needs her father.”
Alan nodded and stood next to his daughter.
“What do you think, two holes?” Anna asked.
Alan blew a raspberry. “Why waste the energy?”
Anna nodded. “So who is going to make it?”
Alan stroked his chin. “Rock paper scissors?”
Anna rolled her eyes and Hong Long roared and tore into reality leaving an extra large whole gaping open.
“See you in a week!” Anna laughed as she ran and jumped through. Salem came screaming after her shouting about not being ready.
“That’s CHEATING!” Alan shouted as he raced after his daughter. Vegeta sighed and ran after his friend, grumbling about losing the steak-off once more.
As he breached into the multiverse he felt the power of his new nature course through him. He held it back, but just barely. He wanted to show Darkseid exactly how bad he had messed up.
Anna also felt the power crest in her and she looked back and smiled at her father while Salem tumbled in the rear of Hong Long’s frame. She waved as her father and Vegeta skewed off in a different direction.
“I think I’m gonna puke!” Salem groaned as he spun around.

Mosious: That’s not good.

2023.06.07 02:26 treehousesquirell I feel like
I am walking on egg shells. I am 22 years old and when I was 18 I fell in love with an alcoholic. Young and naive I thought that I could some how change him. Fast forward I decide to get cosmetic surgery and I am recovering. My now husband has hit me multiple times in his sleep and the most recent time when I gasped when he touched my side he told me that I was being dramatic. I have so much empathy for people and yet I am married to someone who only cares for themself. He drank alcohol from the time we got here until now. He is somehow mad and I don't understand what about. He lied to me telling me that he would be better by 3pm and my stupid ass believe him. I don't know how to leave. I want to. I want to experience someone who loves me without having to drink an uncomfortable amount everyday. I payed for the hotel. I payed for the surgery and he is still mad. It makes me hate myself so much. This makes me feel like I am a child again trying to get love from my bipolar mom. When I try to have a conversation with him he is dismissive and rude. Any favor I ask ends with an attitude. I can't move I can't drive and I can barely walk for 10 minutes alone. He told me to take my garments off so he could wash them but instead he feel asleep. Im scared to tell him that it has to be washed soon because im not suppose to be out of it for more than 1 hour a day. It had now been about 2 1/2 hours. He threatened to him himself the other night. I am living in hell and I have never cried this much over anything. It's psychological terror that I live through everyday. I have not enjoyed sex because he wants it a certain way every time and he talks about sharing me with other people. I don't enjoy being shared because he always gets mad at me and it starts a fight that makes me cry. I have cried for three days in a row and I can't tell anyone. I scheduled a therapy appointment and I can't wait to release the bell that I have been living with to someone else. I am so depressed and I have never been this sad in my life. He just woke up from his nap and I know that if I bring it up to him he would act oblivious. It hurts me so bad I am in literal pain and mental pain. My support system is weak when it comes to my husband. I can't believe he drank so much alcohol and decided to take it out on me. I always feel so defenseless because he has a gun. I know that one day he is going to be so drunk that he does something and doesn't care what he does. The comments that he makes are questionable. I just want an apology for the hurt. I can't believe that I am the dramatic one in this situation. He constantly calls me out of my name and doesn't care that he does. My one response to such abuse is to shut down and stop talking completely and that's what I result to because when I try and use any skills I get from therapy he acts as if they are stupid and useless. I scheduled an official therapy appointment with the two of us. It is going to be the first one in a long time and I have to let it out. My anxiety is worse, my depression is worse. I have a strong personality but sometimes it falls weak because I am with a weak man. No not physically but emotionally psychologically and spiritually he is weak. I don't think I deserve that for my life. Hopefully one day I have enough courage to fly away and be the bird that I have always wanted to be. He has decided to drink while taking me back home. He says it's to "fix his mistake" he made me promise that I don't hate Hume but the truth is I do. Just like I said on our wedding day. He is going to get alcohol as we speak this will never end. I hate myself for even considering being in a relationship with him I deserve so much better than this. How did I settle. I am going to be 26 one day and have no kids because I choose this life for myself. I want to be a mother. I want a happy family and Pinterest photos even though we fought in between snaps. I love the concept of family. I don't feel like a family anymore. I have tried to build with home but every time I put up a block he takes three down. Wheather it be calling me out of my name of drinking so much we argue. He is so mean when he drinks. It seems almost like he doesn't want to stop. The deadline that he gave me to be okay was today at 3pm but here we are he is headed to the Liqour store as we speak to start the cycle over again.

2023.06.07 00:00 Clerk_Sam_Lowry Trip Report- 13 days Tokyo/Kyoto/Hakone/Nagoya (Ghibli Park) /Hiroshima with a 2 year-old toddler. (plus day-trips to Nara and Osaka)
Trip Report- 13 days Tokyo/Kyoto/Hakone/Nagoya (Ghibli Park) /Hiroshima with a 2 year-old toddler. (plus day-trips to Nara and Osaka) I love reading other peoples' trip reports and thought it might be useful to share my experiences travelling with my wife and toddler in Japan. We used Shinkasens for most of our travel between cities but did rent a car in the middle so that we could drive to a rural Onsen and then to Shirakawa-Go from Nagoya. (We also briefly rented a car to visit 3 plaaces around Hakone, too).
First of all, traveling with a toddler in japan is great. Our kid loves trains and busses and got tons of attention and shouts of "KAWAI!!" from friendly people everywhere we went. She even got a lullaby sung to her by a Japanese grandmother as she dozed on a city bus in Kyoto. She never had to pay for any bus fares or train fares. (technically she was a "lap baby" on the Shinkansens).
We read a book of etiquette before we went and it was very useful to know. I am sure most of these tips are stickied elsewhere , but things like "don't point with one finger, always grasp cups with both hands, don't wipe your face/mouth with the hand-cloth, don't talk loudly in restaurants or on trains, keep yen bills neat and flat and use the trays provided when paying for things," etc, were good to know before we went. We brought and carried a "point-and-say" translation book but only used it once; generally Google Translate worked great for images of menus and signs. (and many restaurants have English versions of menus, or use digital menus on iPad that can switch to English. ) Google maps handled most of our navigation needs without issues too, both via train and car. We parked the stroller outside most restaurants or folded it and brought it just inside the door if the weather was bad.
Prep work --
The only major prep work we did before leaving was to buy our JR pass and alert our banks to the dates that we would be in Japan so that our credit and debit cards would work. We had no problems getting cash from the ATM machines at 7-11 or at the Airport. We reserved all hotels/AirBnB/Onsen/Car Rentals beforehand. Also bought SkyTree tickets before departing. We stayed up until 4am to get a ticket to Ghibli's Grand Warehouse -- fortunately only one ticket was needed since our child was under 4 and my wife wasn't interested. We rented a mobile hotspot device from Sakura Mobile before leaving America and it was waiting for us at our first hotel in Tokyo. We dropped the hotspot and charger in a mailbox in a pre-paid envelope before leaving Kyoto.
Major tips -- no need to pack lots of snacks or water each day , since vending machines and 7-11 stores and similar are ubiquitous. Do pack paper towels/ Napkins and extra plastic bags for carrying wet diapers and trash, as public trash cans are almost non-existant. (and when they do exist, they are often just for aluminum and PET plastic bottles) Throw away trash where you bought it, (for things like satay skewers) or bring it home to your hotel. The "pack-it-out" mindset takes a little getting used to, but the results -- a society seemingly without litter-- are superb. Having a lightweight , easily foldable stroller made this trip much easier. Our child often slept in the stroller, and being able to quickly collapse and carry it was key to getting up and down the many sets of stairs in the train stations. It also occasionally doubled as a luggage cart for us. Packing light is key; we picked hotels and AirBnBs that had laundry options to allow us to carry a minimum of stuff. (and no need to bring laundry soap; the washing machines dispense it automatically) My wife wished she had a Japanese-style suitcase with 4 roller-wheels, but I think we did fine with our backpacks , etc.
In general, we didn't have much trouble finding things for my daughter to eat; she loves noodles and dumplings, and even got really into red snapper sushi one night. (basically she loves anything she can dip in soy sauce). Chicken Karage was usually an easy thing to find and feed to her, as were the egg salad Sandos, fresh fruit, and various rice balls from 7-11. Oddly, she also really loved the "pickle-on-a-stick" things that were pretty common in outdoor markets. (I think we got them in both Kyoto and Osaka)
Flights - we flew JAL to from LAX to Narita outbound, and returned on JAL (operated by AA) from Hiroshima to Haneda to LAX. The outbound flight was great; the JAL service was impeccable and they gave my child a model airplane which kept her occupied for hours. We gate-checked our folding stroller on the outbound flight -- the gate clerk put into a plastic bag for us just before departure,
The return flight (operated by American Airlines ) was a step down, but still fine. Transferring planes at Haneda for the return was a little more of a hassle than we had expected becuase you have to exit one terminal, walk a while, exit the building and then get on a free bus, and then go back through security at another terminal. On the plus side, the Haneda international terminal has a padded play area that my daughter liked near the duty free shops. Becuase our return journey was two flights, gate-checking the stroller was not possible, but instead, after measuring its size, we were able to keep it as a carry-on for both legs. (had it been larger, JAL said they would have met us at Haneda with an airport loaner stroller, something we saw other parents using in Hiroshinma and Haneda)
Highlights from each city (focusing on things that my child loved)
Tokyo -- our first night in Japan was a little disorienting: the Tokyo metro station is like a gigantic multi-layer mall-labryinth, and since none of the maps seem to show the "big picture" finding our way to the correct exit lugging luggage was a bit of a challenge the first time . We went back down that night for our fist meal, and by the next day we were practically experts, and were even able to find our way to Ramen Street (on level B1) for lunch and --after waiting in line for about 20 minutes-- slurp some great noodles.
Our first morning we wanted to visit the imperial Palace Gardens, but discovered it is closed on Mondays. Stil, just seeing its moat and stone walls was impressive. We walked to the Children's Science and Technology Museum near Budokan, and our duaghter loved operating cranes and turning cranks of giant Rube-Goldberg machines. (some with bowling-ball sized steel balls moving around). Most of the exhibits were in Japanese, but the fact that this wasn't a common tourist destination made it interesting to visit. On the way home for naps we ate at a random underground food court under an office building and learned how to order a food ticket from a machine for eating at a restaraunt. (a key skill!)
We next headed up to the Owl Cafe in Akihabara, mostly as an excuse to have a visit to Akhiabara, and found it was closed, but seeing the electronics stores and nightlife of Akhihabara was fun. As you might expect, my daughter loved getting Gacha Balls from vending machines (both in Akihabara and everywhere else )
Our second day we spent the morning hunting for the legendary "Elephant Playground" (worth the hunt!) and then went to the nearby
Tokyo Childrens' Toy Museum. This was a fantastic combo, and I would recommend anyone with young kids in Tokyo do both. From there we walked to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, which was a wonderful oaisis, full of picknicking families and couples. We explored the tropical greenhouse and then had a well-needed rest under a tree near a tea-house in the traditial japanese garden section Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden also was conveniently close to the Shinjuku rail station, which was imporant because we had Sky-Tree tickets that evening, and we headed there directly. We didn't have time to do any shopping or visit the two museums recommended to us near the skytree (Tobacco and Salt and the Tobu rail museum) But we did have what I consider my favorite meal of the trip: beers and gyoza and molten-lava hot takoyaki at a tiny( 6- seat) izakaya a few minutes south of the Skytree. (i'd recommend it by name but it was completely in japanasese and I am not sure I can now accurately ID it)
The third day we visted the Tusikiji outer fish market -- we got there early and and it was quickly full of tourists and good food. (many different kinds of grilled things on sticks, as well as raw oysters, etc) I was amazed that the public bathrooms there were sparkling clean -- as they were throughout almost the entire trip. My daughter loved getting an ice-cream drink at John Lennon's favorite coffiee shop (Yonemoto). On the way back thorugh Ginza we bought an enormous fig wrapped like the crown jewels from one of Japnan's famous fruit-gift stores. It cost about $9, but was absoulutely delicious. (it was crazy to see $200 watermelons and $170 muskmellons in the same store)
We also took this time in Ginza to do one of the things on my bucket list -- buy an overpriced gift fruit from a fancy Japanese store. We bought the second cheapest thing in there - a single giant fig, and I think it cost about $9. (totally worth it!) . it was just fun to ogle $80 spherical watermelons, and other beautiful, but incredibly expensive fruit.
Later that afternoon visited/saw Shibuya crossing, ate decent and very inexpensive sushi at a 3rd floor conveyor-belt restaurant, and went to Harjuku. (not in that order) Harajuku was chaotic fun, but equally fun was the long peaceful forest walk to visit the
Meji Ginku shrine that starts just outside Harjuki station . By now we were experts at tossing coins, bowing, clapping, and praying in the appropriate cycle. (something the 2 year old seemed to quite enjoy). We also knew from our guidebook that we were supposed to walk only on the sides of the path at Meji Ginku -- the middle is reserved for the Gods.
NAGOYA/GHIBLI - We took a direct bus from Nagoya station (cash accepted, Pasmo Cards also accepted) out to the sprawling expo grounds that surround the Ghibli exhibits. Our 2.5 year old loved Studio Ghibli Parks Gand Warehouse, particularly the miniature town where she could run around and pretend to drive a train and serve beer at a drafthouse. There was a furry Catbus to sit on, (of course) as well as another padded Catbus to jump around on for a few minutes with shoes off. Totoro is the only Ghibli character she knows well, and she loved finding hidden Totoros and (and a giant bar-tending one) around the Warehouse.
Arguably, Ghibli park was a little disappointing for us two adults , becuase it was pouring rain when we visited making the long walks between areas less than fun. And despite having moved heaven and earth to get a timed ticket, there still were long lines (~40 min) for areas inside the "Grand Warehouse." It was interesting for me to see the sketches and reference photos a used to make each cell of Ghibli animation realisitic ... but it was annoying and crazy that most areas of the warehouse totally forbad taking photographs. Much of the rest of the Grand Warehouse was just lines for people to take selfies in front of recreated scenes from the movies for posting on social media.
We had watched or re-watched all the Ghibli movies prior to our trip, so we were well prepared, but overall I would say that if you can't get tickets to go to the Grand Warehouse, don't feel bad. (There are many many more magical and wonderful things everywhere else in Japan, and your 2 -year-old will love them just as much. )
HAKONE/SHIRAKAWA-GO/ HIDA (Onsen) We took a Shinkasen south from Tokyo to
Hakone, and spent a day there with a family friend who showed us an ancient tea-house along the old imperial road, a famous Shinto shrine, a deliicious meal, and of course, Mount Hakone with its black eggs, sulfurous fumes, and melty black ice cream. The toddler loved the eggs and the ice cream, of course! For me, sitting and eating tea and mochi in the deep forest along the royal road was like being transported back into a historical Kurosawa film.
If you visit Hakone, I would encourage you to get into the woods and do some hiking. It's a gorgeous area. Apparently the japanese love to drink and tour Lake Ashi on a pair of pirate ships. which added a comic aspect to our visit to the much-photographed Hakone Shrine's Tori gate.
We knew we wanted to visit the truly rural areas of Honshu, so we reserved a night at a remote Onsen near Shirakawa-Go. The drive from Nagoya was stunningly beautiful, traffic was light, and because we had rented a toll transponder along with the rental car, we could just breeze through the toll-booths (which are located at the off-ramps) . Seeing the untouched mountains coexisting with sleek new road tunnels and breathtaking shining bridges made me realize how decrepit American infrastructure has become.
IT was a bit stressful to drive on the left hand side of the road, but conversely, It was great to be able to pull over at will. For example, we could stop at at a small town outside of Nagoya for a delicious prix fixe breakfast at "cafe Pierrot" and again later to see and visit a beautiful riverside Shinto shrine along the road. The car gave us the freedom to and be able to just stop and explore and let our child play in the shallow water surrounded by green hills. Driving in the rural areas wasn't too bad, and doing so let us see a whole other world that we would have missed had we stuck to the trains. For example, we visited a delightful outdoor morning market in the village of
Miyagawa and bought fresh produce and some delightful snacks (including fish-shaped custard-filled mini-donuts) from the vendors followed by an impromptu picnic along the riverbank.
On this portion of the trip we also got to experience the Japan's wonderful rest-stop cuisine -- you use a ticket machine to select some items, hand them to a chef behind the counter, and in a few minutes your number is called . We had some delicious Japanese pizza (shaped like a elongated, puffy taco ) fragrant beef curry, and a "Miso Katsu" dish too.
Later we would stop at another rest stop and discover that it had an absolutely epic set of slides and tunnels built into the hillside. You borrow a plastic sled and then slide about 150 feet down a green carpet. It was hearwarming to see how kind and welcoming the japanese children were to our daughter, helping her to slide and showing her how to play and explore the tunnels. Arguably this was my child's favorite part of the entire trip.
Shirakawa Go was great fun for the whole family -- it was definately touristy, but it was great to be able to stroll and relax and learn about Japan's past. (Parking closes at 5pm, though!) We had only a few hours there but I think we would have enjoyed an entire day of strolling and snacking and learning. Interestingly all the parking attendents there seem to be senior citizens.
Our Ondsen was in a small farming comunity outside Hida, surrounded by orchards, mountains, and rice paddies. We were the only non-japanese that we saw there, and it was a little challenging to keep our toddler ccorralled during the formal meals (served in a common area, not in our rooms). As expected, the indoor slippers provided were a bit small for my size-11 feet, but we had a great time in a beautiful, secluded place.
Staying overnight got us a ticket to also visit the large and well-maintained municipal baths just up the road. (each side of which had about 7 pools of various temperatures and medicinal properties) There was a wonderful hiking trail that looped through the deep forest around the town. One of my biggest regrets of the trip is that we did not have more time to hike and explore these lush, pristine mountain woods -- I think I enjoyed our hikes here as much as I did the onsen baths.
The driving portion of our trip ended on the western coast of Honshu, at Kanazawa, but we didn't see much of that city other than a gas station and the rental car return before taking the "thunderbird" train down to Kyoto. (not quite as fast as some shinkasen, but very comfortable).
KYOTO and day-trips: We had three delightful days in Kyoto, along including day trips by rail to
Osaka (to see the market, eat okinomiyaki, and climb Osaka Castle) and
Nara (to walk aound and feed the deer in the park and then the koi at a a beautiful botanical garden, stroll through another temple, and to eat the best Udon noodles of the trip while siting outdoors in the forest. In Nara, we also stumbled upon a wonderful Beatles-only vintage record shop called "B-Sels" on an upper floor just across from Nara station, and listened to a street performance of Shamisen music at the station itself. Nara, like Shirakawa-Go, was full of busloads of tourists, but that didn't make it any less of a great experience for us.
Kyoto itself was wonderful to explore on foot -- I won't go into exhaustive detail, but our child loved walking and being pushed in the stroller to various Temples and loved the view from Kyoto tower. (and the Gatcha ball souvenir tower even more!) . She liked the path through the bamboo forest (crowded with tourists) and loved "hiking" through the beautiful and less crowded gardens of
Tenryu-Ji temple -- part of which has remained unchanged since the 14th century. We skipped the monkey park.
In Kyoto proper, we walked through
Chion-In Buddhist temple , took our shoes off and bagged them, and observed a ceremony -- it was interesting to see how similar it was to ceremonies in America, with the same incense, syllable recitation, and wood-block time-keeping interspersed with bowl-gong ringing .... but on a much grander scale. The size of the wooden buildings is epic, rivaling the stone cathedrals of Europe. Because of the large numbers of steps to get from the massive Sanmon gate to the main building of the shrine, my wife and I took turns exploring and let the toddler play along the paths of the temple's small tea-garden next door.
Hiroshima- Finally, we spent the last two days of our trip in Hiroshima. It was shocking and surreal to get off the train underground and suddenly be hit with an overwhelming smell of burning -- there was construction work all around Hiroshima station and I don't know if it was from digging pylons down into subterranean ashes, or just from some other more modern aspect of the construction As someone whose worldview was shaped by reading Barefoot Gen as a child, visiting Hiroshima was an important and somber part of our trip.
It was interesting to see that the bulk of the visitors to the Peace Museum visitors seemed to be Japanese school groups. Of course, most of the photos and exhibits museum went "over the head" of our 2/yo child. (she wasn't frightened, just not interested). She did enjoy ringing the peace Bell outside and seeing the collections of paper cranes. We bought books to help share the experience with her again once she is older.
In any event, Hiroshima is a charming city showing no outward signs of being apocalyptically devastated (except at the Peace Memorial Dome) and there is an excellent restaurant district just around the corner from the main train station, with many small restaurants that are open late.
The people and proprietors of Hiroshima seemed particularly kind to us; it's more relaxed there than any of the other cities we viisted. Our chid loved was the "Children's 5-day Science Museum" about a quater mile away from Peace Park that has a lot of hands-on exhibits and two stories of climbing tunnels. We did
not do the planetarium there, as it is in japanese-language only and we had limited time.
For us, the highlight of our time in Hiroshima was taking the long ferry to Miyajima directly from Peace Park and then wandering around the narrow streets of Miyajima in the afternoon and evening. It was great to see the oyster beds being worked from the ferry and then later dine on delicious grilled and fried Miyajima oysters.
Our child loved the ferry rides and wandering around Miyajima (there are deer there too) but she also slept for much of our time on the island. The return ferry was part of the JR rail network and so we could use our JR passes for that. (its a short, straighter route).
All in all, Japan was very kid friendly, as long as you can quickly and easily fold up your stroller, and we loved our time in every city we visited. (and could have easily spent much more time in any of them).
Other Thoughts: We bought the Japan Rail Pass, but probably didn't save much money by doing so; My wife estimates that we about broke even with the number of shinkansen, trains, and ferry-rides we used. It was a nice security blanket, though, to know that if we missed a train it wouldn't cost us anything. (but we never missed any trains) . For non JR-line trains, we used a pair of "PASMO" cards. Pasmo cards can also be used at other random retail places as a stored-cash card. When you go through the gates, you must look for ones that say "IC" if you are using a Pasmo card and tap against the NFC pad with it. Using Pasmo is nice because the card is durable (unlike the paper JR Pass) and you can load up enough money for multiple trips on the card.
We use T-mobile, and our plan included 5 GB of "high speed data" while in japan but we weren't sure we would have good service for our rural drive, so we gout a WiFi hotspot from Sakura Mobile. This worked fine -- and its speeds was always faster than T-Mobile's coverage when tested. The hotspot generally would last about 20 hours on one charge. But honestly T-Mobile's Japan coverage was probably good enough that the hotspot was an unnecessary expense; we often used it instead of the hotspot and only came close to the 5GB limit on our last day. If I were on a tighter budget, a shorter trip, or knew I wouldn't be in remote areas, I would skip the Hotspot and just use T-mobile.
TLDR: Tokyo Toy Museum is fantastic for little ones. Ghibli Park (Grand Warehouse) is fine, but our kid probably had just as much fun on many other Japanese playgrounds. If you do choose to drive, don't miss the Japanese rest stops which can be fantastic with fresh food and jungle gyms and slides. Our kid may remember little from the trip except the toys she took home from GATCHA balls, but we have a lifetime of memories gained. Don't miss the Udon in Nara at "Mizuya Chaya", just outside the beautiful Manyo Botanical Gardens.

2023.06.06 23:59 MindInTheClouds Realistic Contention Timeline (aka- Finding Robin to Wemby's Batman)
All Spurs fans want the team to immediately jump into contention immediately after drafting Victor Wembanyama, but I thought it would be interesting to see how quickly other star players took to:
a.) Bring their team to the Finals and/or b.) Find that 2nd/3rd teammate that turned them into a championship team. As much as I love the Spurs young core, and guys like Vassell or Sochan could very well be a key piece in a contender, let's assume for a second that Wemby's best teammates are yet to come. Here is how long it could take:
- Michael Jordan- Drafted in 1984; Pippen drafted in 1987; first Finals/Championship in 1991
- David Robinson- Drafted in 1987 (first played 1989); Tim Duncan drafted in 1997; first Finals/Championship in 1999
- Tim Duncan (looking more at the Big 3 Era)- Drafted in 1997; Tony Parker drafted in 2001, Manu Ginobili joined the team in 2002; NBA championship in 2003
- Kobe Bryant- Drafted in 1996; Shaq also signed in 1996; first Finals/Championship in 2000
- LeBron James- Drafted in 2003; made the Finals in 2007; had to change teams to find championship-level teammates
- Steph Curry- Drafted in 2009; Klay Thompson drafted in 2011; Draymond Green drafted in 2012; first Finals/Championship in 2015
So, just based on this sample, the Spurs contention timeline is probably 4-7 years away. The good news is that the Spurs have a TON of draft picks in the next 5 years, and maybe one of those picks will turn into the next Scottie Pippen or Tony Parker or Klay Thompson. Unless we somehow find a Shaq, patience and good drafting will be the name of the game.

2023.06.06 23:49 Anonymous5922 Would winning 3 Cy Young awards guarantee a player a spot in the Hall of Fame?
Johan Santana, Tim Lincecum, and Corey Kluber are all pretty recent 2 time Cy Young Award winner who will not make the Hall of Fame.
deGrom himself has 2 as well, and with todays news puts the chances of the greatest pitchers of all time to make the Hall in jeopardy.
If voting would've went differently and he won his 3rd Cy Young in 2020 or stayed healthy long enough to win it in 2021, would that guarantee him a spot in the Hall of Fame by now?
Besides Roger Clemens for obvious reasons.

2023.06.06 23:36 Outrageous-Minute685 Book [ Veils ] - " Upon my stomach , dust I eat the rest of my days "
6.5.2023 - 08:42
see if i become a police officer, they would have all this time to have gained access to a weopon and they can ruin my chances of employment or becoming an officer by controlling the narrative of crime
what would occur is or are whites or others that could possess a similar frailty of expression or leadershi[p, can constructively say that , there is a hiearchy of inferiority.
also because of this stalemate , indo's can group me in with other members of my roots however choose facouritism over darker hues , or create expresionocide. MY genes woyuld get lost in other genetic pools.
the other thing is - im so focused on the mind, getting sharper this that and the other, but whats happening to my body?
i might be in a band wagon, that has already developed their body and is looking to implement ways to develope the mind. Mean while im trying to heal my body?
- back fire others can say that these are the conditions of homelessness and say or acclimate themselves to that quote on quote clout. and basically becomde parasites , or maggots to a dying cause.
so its confusing because... to be... i guess this is about genetic cohesion.
to be with an indo - i need to supply my wife with food as a obligatory contract to provide me with peace of mind?
i need to give spanish my wealth , to ensure protection or because of the causal projection of africa towards south america?
its an odd framework to operate in. How do i navigate.
it seems my existence is only a narrative for others to circumnavigate genetic barriers.
in a choice decision, i think i would be competing with blue eyes or eyes that arent brown.
really , my whole self is divided because, there are to many variations to where things are going.
factors such as
- Hair
- Skin
- Body
- MIND
- Money
- TIME & TALENTS
- FAMILY
- Beliefs.
maybe thats what it is, being fisher of men, however adversaries with not want to support so they would confuse the approach of cooperation. Possibly , anyone who is in the lgbtq community , or more less, who may want to denounce their biological functions...?
then again , i would say that my stance seems to be me in the middle of the road or the fence.
its giving others the reason to be unfaithful or indecisive.
i guess thats the other thing , is that i dont get that right or protecting myself. Martial arts is ying and yang. Its physical economics. blow for blow. At the end both sides find partisan, and sup with one another. The initial cause gets desaturatedwith time and pacificity. What happens is that you create a generation of conflicting love.
you bruise or brake a branch to later graph fruits and other limbs from this tree.
so conflict or martial arts for the rreason of armament does not rest with me.
id rathern{ eliminate a threat or have the option of or not participate all together.}
quite so the issue is im not able to see myself, be a mentor to my younger self. i WOULDNT INVEST IN SPENDING 6 - 10 YEARS STUDYING Psychology because , gossip exist. GOSSIP HAS ALLOWED OTHERS TO CIRCUMNAVIGATE AWAY FROM IGNORANT POST.
BECAUSE I GUESS THIS IS WHAT MY WHOLE LIOFE IS ABOUT. Detachment from gossip and closer to my own truths. Iwould have to sell myself or work towards poverty because im in a cycle of incompletion. Darkskins, the fathers of many hate their own kindred , because of resources.
Whites and fairskins want assimilation, for cognitive pursuits. dARKSKIN MEN would , as id assume make sure their childs hair is cut so that they cannot assimilate with indo's . They want them closer to bald because maybe they want them as buddist or bald men.
The point may not be who is farthest, and linking that to developement but whats the closest things to you, or myself.
becaudse maybe history and education were not so kind when coheding with science. Regional variants in history creating cultures and ethnicities probably exist because, disposal or thoughts and ideas conflicting. rEALLY Just an issue of space and percision.
reeally , i could or should hsve spent or invested some time into other faiths, sikhs , islam , Judaism and tourism, cHRITIANITY AND social science and economics. hOWEVER something exist that is solely dividing individuals.
- i would just say jelousy
- skin
- energy & skin
- eyesight
- mobility.
i think],8i this is why there is a divide, my mind is not situated correctly because , my roots have or are trying to dislodge parts of my body from my worth.
- they seek that i do not find a fairskin sihk woman, but rather a darkskin hindu
- they dont want me finding a european or brunette because they may say i am siding with an oppressor or that im creating a paradox and repeating history within the nativity story.
- they msy also seek that i not know a middke eastern or muslim woman likewise to the narrative of the nativity of christ, possible also creating a paradox with hidstory .
even the thought of all this, it seems like im inseminating thoughts of hate. IM FEEDING THE NARRATIVE OF BEING OUTCOMPETED , HATRED FOR MY ROOTS. BUT HATRED FOR MY ROOts is only feeding multiculturalism and their passions for one another. with technology, this is just recorded outburst , that they can build upon, with everything they hsve gathered and know.
What occurs is i feed the crops of
Interacial love because im redressing what interacial couples think they have solved through fusion. Through fusion, the product doesnt have a concern for social justice, only the pursuit of dominant ideals. Their is no concern for social justice because , their exist no measures, or definition of the middle grounds if there are such grounds, then they are defined solely by Drake. even so , the middle grounds have so many variants.
- Indians and spanish a handful of asians, and causasians are of a similar hue,, but there is no real definitive way of distinguishing from anyt of this. All seem to pick and reap from the same concept of beauty. Noticeably with hair styling as well.
- Men tend to do a high top fade , while keeping their beard around the same length. Im assuming this is a clear shot at malcolm x , or in some kind o way a run on joke , about the different hair growth speeds of vairous ethnicities. , tHAT CERTAIN MENT CAN ONLY GROW , hair types at certain speeds.
- not only do i think that this is couple in with geneticide, i find this to be a psycho-economic attack. tHE ECONOMY , and quite possibly the government is and are finding ways to impair developement. THEY ARE CHOOSING AGED MEN WITH EXOERIENCE , while finding ways to impede the young men and adults. the trick is that these young men like myself take up roles in education and public safety. What ensues is that this older men that want to disable, the thoughts and genes of these younger men or men of my age, they produce offspring , and invest in IVF. So what they get is and are individuals that protect their selfish interest. Because my generation of men are defenseless... they intergrate with multiculturalism and fuse.. BECAUSE IT IS EASIER TO MAKE , a biracial then it is to complete , their design. Its not sustainable. so id have to ask myself, where does all this go? might right to protect myself?
forced to cut my hair so i wouldnt be able to contribute to future establishments.
its not far out of the question to say that politicians have a time machine. im sure they are able to guage the future and its events..
maybe i ewas meant to be a sihk, but because my hair is cut, i cannot contribute or indentify as one. Id haver to indentify as a naturalized biological hindu.
An artist and the freckles be a constelation of bindi"s
- the other issue is that there is a social exchange. I Work in a white saturated environment, while others get to exploit my roots.
- Black women are on the wayside because they are easily exploitable.
- the cohesion is created where when in these white or caucasian environments biracial women take something, making me desire to be back around darkskins. im assuming this is in some part a similar means to how some individuals assumed membership in the lgbtq community. alongside financial obligations.
but to play abasketball, i sense is others trying to social construct their own stephen curry.
bECause id be grouped in with euopeans or caucasians and indians. Steph who wears 30 which is similar to the hindu symbol , as well as others figuring they can make a jcole from a white woman. Indians with mat with whites or europeans just so that they can claim, in the case of a biracial euopean and indain man, and than leater the creation of a jocle or a steph, indos will claim competitivw dominance over blacks. As well as all members of society , because in terms of population , they have greater numbers.
So dissecting these thoughts for what they are where am I now and where should I have been , cognizantly what value is there in being where I am at now?
But also thriving for inexistemce. See for one I cant say I'm christian or baptized because obviously if that were the situation , navigating to simple oppurtunities wouldn't be such a stand still.
I think this mindset... this mindset of comfort doesnt do anything for me. It pacified me.. and makes me a child in the eyes of others. It has no value. A canadian life with my name has no value.
The stakeholders are international workers and students
What I burrow in terms of OSAP.. is taking away from what others are putting in.

2023.06.06 20:34 CuriousPincushion Where is the line between "victim blaming" and calling people just being stupid/careless?
Disclaimer: This discussion was sparked between me and friends by the recent Tim Lindemann (Rammstein) scandal. We all agreed unanimously that drugging, coercing and pressuring people to sexual acts is unacceptable (and illegal obviously. Also "scouting" girls over Instagram and inviting them for these reason is very reprehensible.
But we also had a wild "concert lifestyle" a ten years ago and for us it was always clear what was expected when someone (practically always young women) without any connections was invited backstage after the concert. Other people in our discussion called this statement victim blaming.
Then we discussed several hypothetical scenarios and if calling the victim in this scenarios naiv or careless is victim blaming or not.
Another scenario was for example if you walk through a dangerous district in a city as a tourist and you get robbed.
