2023.06.07 10:01 N_a_m_a_n010 Essential Tips to Choose the Right Electric Car

Essential Tips to Choose the Right Electric Car
Electric cars have become popular as the world approaches a more sustainable future. With zero tailpipe emissions and less operating costs, electric vehicles (EVs) are a viable option for eco-conscious individuals. However, choosing the right and practical electric car can be a daunting and demanding task due to the diversity of options available. You can certainly check out the electric car price in UAE, but you may make the wrong choice if you don’t know what you want.
The point is simple, to assist you in making an informed and effective decision, this post has compiled several essential tips that you should consider when selecting an electric car. After all, the right tips will help you choose the best option.

Decide Your Needs
Assess your driving habits, even including daily commuting distance, the incidence of long trips, and charging infrastructure in your area. This sort of evaluation will help you understand the range requirements and even the charging capabilities your electric car must have. This way , you can be sure that you know what you need and choose an option accordingly.
Consider the overall Range
Examine the range offered by different types of electric car models. Ensure that the range fulfils your daily driving requirements, with some buffer for unforeseen circumstances. Consider factors such as weather conditions and additional power-consuming type of features.
Set a proper Budget
Establish a proper budget for your electric car purchase, considering the expense of the vehicle, potential tax incentives or even rebates, and the cost of installing a home charging station. This way, you will know exactly what you will be spending.
Check Charging Infrastructure
Research the availability of charging stations in your area, both at home and in public locations. Ensure that you have convenient access to charging facilities, and consider going for a home charging station for an added level of convenience. After all, you don’t want to experience discomfort later, right?

Battery Life and Warranty
Investigate the overall battery life and warranty offered by the electric car manufacturer. Decide the battery's capacity degradation over time and ensure the contract covers a reasonable period. A longer battery life and comprehensive warranty can provide you with the utmost peace of mind.
Overall Safety Features
Prioritize overall safety features when selecting an electric car. For example, look for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, even automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. This way, you can be sure that you get the best experience.
Performance and Acceleration
Evaluate the overall performance capabilities of different kinds of electric car models. Look for quick acceleration, even smooth handling, and overall driving experience. Consider factors such as horsepower, torque, and even the electric drivetrain to make sure that you get an enjoyable driving experience.
Interior Space and Comfort
Consider the overall interior space and comfort features offered by the electric car. Evaluate seating capacity, cargo space, legroom, and overall comfort to ensure that the vehicle can accommodate your needs and even preferences. of course, this way, you can be sure that your car interior space gets you a great experience and comfort. What is the point if you find it tedious once you buy it?
Available Incentives
It is important that you do research on the available incentives for purchasing an electric car. Many countries and regions are there that offer tax credits, rebates, or even other sorts of incentives to promote electric vehicle adoption. Utilize these opportunities to drop the overall cost of ownership. Of course, when you have the incentives to make the most of them, you should know about them well.
Charging Time
Understand the overall charging time required to replenish the battery of your chosen electric car. Different types of models have varying charging capabilities, ranging from standard home charging to even faster DC fast-charging options. Consider your regular routine and determine which type of charging speed aligns best with your overall lifestyle.
Look into the Maintenance and Operating Costs
It is important that you do compare the maintenance and operating costs of electric cars with their overall gasoline-powered counterparts. Electric cars characteristically have fewer moving parts and need less maintenance. Additionally, they offer you a lower level of fuel costs and potential savings on maintenance and even repair expenses. Of course, what is the point if you end up buying an electric vehicle that demands a lot of maintenance from you? so be careful about it.
Manufacturer and Model Reputation
Investigate the overall reputation of the electric car manufacturer and the particular model you are considering. Look for reliability, customer satisfaction, and even long-term performance reviews. A reputable and effective manufacturer with a dependable electric car model ensures a better ownership experience.
If possible, do Test Drive and Research
It is important that you give yourself a chance to get an idea about the car. Yes, it is helpful if you do schedule test drives with multiple electric car models to experience their overall features first-hand. Utilize online resources, reviews, and even forums to gather comprehensive information and opinions from present owners before making a final decision. Of course, you have no idea how a test drive may change the entire game for you. the more you explore the car and try your hands on it, the better you can decide.
Check the Resale Value
It is important that you do evaluate the potential resale value of the electric car you mean to purchase. While the electric vehicle market is quite evolving, some models incline to hold their value better than that of others. Consider the long-term resale value to evaluate the total expense of ownership.
To sum up, selecting the right and effective electric car requires careful consideration of various factors such as your driving needs, even budget, range, charging infrastructure, safety features, and even overall maintenance costs. By following these mentioned essential tips, you can definitely make an informed decision and pick an electric car that aligns well with your lifestyle and even preferences while contributing to a greener future. You will definitely own the best electric car in UAE once you make a thoughtful choice.

I feel like as a third party observer of this forum and former owner of MMTLP shares, I have some right to say this, but… from an outsider’s view, this forum is utter chaos.
Everyone seems to be spinning their wheels and using pretty loose information to discuss whether they’re getting their money or not. I’m highly confused, as an MMTLP shareholder, just scrolling through this.
It doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting any of our money back. Godspeed guys. The system doesn’t work for us.

Wanted to post this in a forum with fellow Mazda3 owners lol. Our security cameras caught my neighbors checking out my Mazda3 and, dang, I watched this video like a proud parent. Not to mention we live in a semi hoity-toity area so there are a lot of nice cars around here, but they decided to check out mine 🫡

2023.06.07 04:14 CarterGee Weekly Rivian Responds + Roundup: A Subreddit Blackout? Plus moving mirrors, counting battery cells, and a question about 'Roundup' [6/6/2023]

Weekly Rivian Responds + Roundup: A Subreddit Blackout? Plus moving mirrors, counting battery cells, and a question about 'Roundup' [6/6/2023]
What is up Rivets!?
This week, I'm going to switch the order around on our regular thread because I'm feeling spicy. I'm also going to change how we do the questions and answers formatting for you. You know what... scroll to the bottom because I got a question for you instead of the Roundup! Can you handle it? Can you even believe such dramatic changes are happening to you?! Listen. I said I was feeling spicy. But how are you feeling. Let us know! We can just say hi sometimes.

Subreddit Updates

  • Earlier this week we pinned a poll asking you if Rivian should participate in the Reddit blackout to show support for 3rd party apps that use Reddit's API - specifically Apollo. As mods, we think it's important to ask the community about what should do in cases like this rather than decide on our own. Truthfully, the mod team is just as split as your vote right now and I think one of us shares the opinion of just about each of your comments. So let's hear it for democracy! The poll is open for the next ~24hrs and we'll do what you want.
  • I got a few DMs recently about what our relationship is with "Rivian Official" after I posted a PR response on the fire recently. The deal is that we talk to Rivian - from Customer Experience to Comms to Engineering - all the time. We text. They're great. We sometimes get information shortly before the rest of you so we can prepare content. Other times we get it at the same time as all of you, but we get an alert. Rarely, PR arms us with information if there's ambiguity about something. This kind of stuff, including Rivian Responds, adds value to the community directly and it's symbiotic. We do not get free stuff, have any "insider" information, or have any intention to create a business out of this subreddit - meaning that there's no merch, exclusive events, or anything like that. (I'm actually extremely opposed to having that relationship with any brand) If you all ever have questions about this stuff, we're happy to answer your questions.

Weekly Rivian Responds

To get your questions answered, comment below within 48hrs of this post going up.
Please remember that Rivian is a publicly traded company, so you may not get the detail you want about upcoming product, feature, or software timelines. Of course always ask what's most important, but for more detailed answers, try to ask questions about vehicle capability, choices already made (eg, design), or about the company in general.
Q: Are there plans to have the side view mirrors tilt down when shifting the car into reverse? My last 3 cars all had this and it's very helpful for street parking A: Yep, we're working on this! And as a reminder, when you shift your Rivian into reverse today, a series of cameras feed into the Center Display to assist as you back up. From there, you can toggle between a 360-degree Bird’s Eye View or the Front and Rear camera views. You can also manually adjust your side mirrors in the “Access and security” menu if desired.
Q: When are the revamped phone charging pads coming out? Will retrofits be covered? A: In a recent interview with Marques Brownlee on his WVFRM Podcast, RJ mentioned that we’d be updating the phone charging mats in R1 vehicles. That’s all the info we have for now, but we’ll share more details as they come.
Q: How many battery cells are in the max pack? Since Rivian has already told us the cell count in the large pack (7776) I see no good reason to keep the cell count in the max pack a secret. A: The 7,776 battery cell figure was shared prior to launching the R1T and R1S. Rather than an official spec, it was intended to be a fun fact about the vehicles (the 7,777th cell powering the flashlight in the driver-side door). But as we continue to develop our battery architecture, it’s possible that the size, shape, and number of internal components will change. Rather than track these design updates in granular detail, we’ll continue to share our battery packs' overall range capacities to help customers decide which option is right for them.
Q: Is Rivian looking at the possibility of offering the powered tonneau as a retrofit (at a cost) for those that took delivery of a manual tonneau due to the timing of the powered tonneau being removed from the configurator? A: We do not currently have plans to offer a paid upgrade for R1T owners who took delivery of a vehicle without a powered tonneau cover.
Q: How much longer will RAN chargers be free? Last we heard, those were supposed to cost something by the end of ~April, but they're still free A: You can expect to see pricing roll out at Rivian Adventure Network charging sites in the coming months.
"Wow CarterGee," you might be saying, "that table is so. neat. I can't believe that you haven't shared the Rivian Responds as a table before now! It's just so much better." And, if you are saying that, my response is simply, "IKR!?"

Alright. You made it. Here you are are the bottom of the post where we usually share the most popular posts over the past week. But this section is time consuming and I'm not sure if you actually like it or not. This week, I've decided against doing it because Diablo IV came out and there's a lot happening at work. But my question is...
Should we continue doing these in the future? Or should we do something else in this slot? You tell us. We're all ears.

2023.06.07 03:43 RussellZee AMA: CGL Rem Alternis (Community Manager) and Ray (Line Developer), starting now!

EDIT: and that's a wrap! Thanks for the questions, everyone! We tried to field all of 'em. Please feel free to post here if you have further thoughts or concerns regarding out plan moving forward (though technically moving backwards?) to battletech under it's heavily revised moderation staff.
Hey everyone! Rem here, and we've got some news. This weekend, ddevil (the owner of battletech) reached out to me about what happened and how to make it right, and possibly stitch the community back together. Before I even replied, he had dismissed the mods and reached out to some of ours over here to see if they'd be willing to help over there, and connect him to additional help. I'm impressed by his decisiveness - it shows he is truly committed to the same mission we are. CGL didn't plan to start a reddit community - we just wanted the safe and respectful space to be available to all. Today, I met with ddevil and talked about options. Now, I want to share what we discussed with you all and get feedback before we decide on next steps.
  1. We will no longer use OfficialBattleTech.
  2. battletech is willing to use our community standards. We have a first draft ready and he's going to run them by his mods for any feedback as well. We still need to collaborate with the Catalyst Demo Team and our forums to make sure we are all aligned before we get a final version to them, but it's a start.
  3. CGL will periodically post new releases or host AMAs to BattleTech so we are still engaged with the community.
So what do YOU all think? Is this the right solution? The BattleTech line developer, Ray and I are here for the next hour or so to hear your thoughts and answer your questions (EDIT: and thanks for the questions, everyone, we tackled a lot of issues in the last hour, and appreciate your feedback!).

UPDATE: THE CURRENT DRAFT OF THE WOULD-BE COMMUNITY CONDUCT RULES IS AS FOLLOWS (for battletech and potentially future CGL-endorsed groups)
  1. Be kind and courteous.
We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
  1. All discussion should be directly tied to [Game System] and the setting. For example, please do not share things like news articles that are vaguely similar to technologies in BattleTech such as artificial muscles without commentary tying it to the setting.
  2. No Hate Speech/Bullying
BattleTech is for everybody. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind is forbidden, and degrading comments about things including, but not limited to, race, religion, culture, disability, career, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity will not be tolerated.
3a. No use of slurs. There is a zero-tolerance rule in effect for the use of slurs for any of the identifiers listed above, including things like “r*tard,” “cu*k,” etc.). Attempts to dodge moderation by using euphemisms will be considered a violation of the no-slur policy. If you have to ask if a term is considered a slur, do not use it.
3b. Do not engage in flame wars. If another member is being intentionally inflammatory, please use the “Report to Admins” feature rather than engage them directly. All disruptive parties involved in arguments that violate the rules will be subject to disciplinary action, regardless of who “started it.”
  1. No Promotions or Spam
Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.
  1. Respect Everyone's Privacy
Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private.
  1. No Real-World Politics
Current politics, or political history likely to cause political debate, is strictly forbidden. Remember that you will likely share real world spaces with the people you are engaging in discussion with here, and keeping things civil online helps promote civility offline. If you are unsure if a topic crosses the line, play it safe and ask an admin.
  1. Illegal usage of the BattleTech IP via sharing STLs of existing miniatures or MWO models will result in an immediate ban, as will sharing paid digital products.
  2. No sexually explicit content.
  3. Memes are to be posted in [specific location/thread/day] only.
  4. Participation is a privilege, not a right. Admins and Moderators reserve the right to remove any member for any reason at any time, regardless of whether or not rules are being actively violated in this specific group.
By joining this group, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by all aforementioned rules.
UPDATE: UPDATE (from the mouth of Rem)Here's the deal with 3D Printing.
CGL would love to get into the STL business. We have approached Topps multiple times to discuss and they have fervently shut down any conversation. Further, they expect us to enforce this with anyone we find who is selling or sharing STLs or 3D printed BattleTech mechs or vehicles. If we were to make any allowances, they would be within their rights to pull the license from us. No one wants that!
So better to err on the side of "just don't, please."

2023.06.07 02:07 steelydanofficial What's the deal with Fragrantica and their extreme hostility to LGBT people

**ALL of this is alleged, TW for discussions about homo/transphobia and more specifically transmisogyny
I've been on Fragrantica for close to a decade now and something incredibly violent and eerie about the (lack of) moderating on the site in the past year. While I can deal with the owners of a site having different politics than me if any hate speech can just stay off site and people are expected to just be kind and civil about their differences, something's been happening in the past year or so now because one of the owners is on the front page of the site defending those calling trans people "child groomers" and "men in dresses". It's one thing to be a more conservative leaning site that is at least anti-name calling and hate speech but this is different.
It's gotten so bad to where an article on the front page right now about the rerelease of Le Male for Pride (***TW on the link for homo/transphobia) has people in response in the comments calling the ""lbgtqiabcdef+"" community groomers, with the owner right there in the comments doing nothing and actually picking on me instead for complaining, and when I said as a queer woman I feel uncomfortable about the fact that we can't at least moderate outright insults, people ganged up on me to inquire about my genitals/whether I'm a "real woman".
The owneeditor-in-chief Elena Knezevic/"jeca" is in the comments saying it's fair game and I'm asking for it by trying to "silence" people. All while saying "no one's being homophobic" and she just wants an "open forum".
What on earth is going on on this site?? How on earth are they getting revenue and sponsors from LGBT+ fragrance houses and allies while openly treating people like this right on the front page?
I didn't even ask to be part of this, I just asked them to take down the comments calling trans women groomers and the owners outright refuse to. Not that there's ever a good reason to allow this to begin with. Was it always this bad, and if so, how come more people/brands aren't noticing?
EDIT: Thank you so much for the awards, that is so kind of you!!

Doxxing HR - Adulting Really isn't that Difficult, Folks.

I'm not sure any effort to rehabilitate your behavior should include doxxing people on other forums.
Last time I looked, our Golden Mom had The Sub Owner Who Lost His Sub under strict instructions to correct anyone who deigned to use even another of her former Reddit alts to address her. I'm guessing a stroke would be involved if anyone used her actual name.
Also, how many forums do you need to create with the missing woman's name attached? Hasn't she been exploited enough? At the very least...the bare minimum ethical requirement certainly shouldn't be doxxing others in her name. If your argument is "Everyone knows his name"... well, everyone knows yours, too. As I recall, the troll splashed one of your children's names all over, as well. So I expect you to be a little more stringent about people's personal information, if you expect it of others.
I suppose anarchy could prevail.
Ye olde if you're gonna dish it out, you better be able to take it comes to mind.
I guess you'll have to make some decisions about that.

ETA: I would absolutely not sign into any forums created or moderated by anyone with trolling histories, as some of these individuals are known to fish for IP addresses. If you're going to a forum like this, take the appropriate precautions, VPNs, etc. I'd actually recommend not going to this forum at all.

My wife and I are thinking about changing our R1S order to R1T, but there are concerns about our rear-facing UPPAbaby Mesa fitting behind the passenger seat. Are there any R1T owners with this exact setup that are willing to take pictures so we can get this verified without having to call Rivian Service Center and go for a visit? Appreciate it.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom is now live on PC/Mac and Steam.
This new Chapter in The Elder Scrolls Online saga introduces two new zones to explore, a brand-new class to master and a sinister plot to uncover that threatens reality itself.
If you play on consoles, don’t worry. You can dive into Necrom on Xbox One, Xbox Series SX, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on June 20.
This release also includes the free Update 38 base-game patch, introducing new fixes, additions, balance changes, and improvements.

Necrom Chapter

In The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, you can delve deeper into the Shadow Over Morrowind adventure, explore the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha zones, and master an all-new class, the Arcanist. Necrom continues the story that began with March’s Scribes of Fate DLC, but you do not need to have completed the previous DLC to experience everything this Chapter has to offer.
Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha Home to the cunning mages of House Telvanni and the city of Necrom, the Telvanni Peninsula’s towering mushroom forests might feel familiar to those who have ventured to other parts of Morrowind. However, in addition to the city itself, this new zone contains a host of unique encounters for you to discover in your explorations, including new side quests, world bosses, delves, public dungeons and more.
NCRM Trophy CityOfTheDead Necrom city
Necrom also allows you to explore Hermaeus Mora’s realm of Apocrypha. While this mysterious part of Oblivion contains knowledge untold, be warned—many mortals have lost their souls while navigating its endless libraries.
In this Chapter, you can explore an all-new part of Apocrypha called Chroma Incognito, a region comprised of fates that never came to pass. This new area is unlike anything you have experienced before, including myriad hazards and secrets for you to discover. Learn more about Necrom’s two zones in this preview.
The Arcanist Helping you tackle these new worlds is the all-new Arcanist class. The first new class added to ESO since the Elsweyr Chapter’s Necromancer in 2019, the Arcanist wields the forbidden powers of Apocrypha to deal damage, absorb incoming blows and heal yourself or your allies.
In addition to three skill lines that allow the class to perform any role, the Arcanist introduces a new combat mechanic: Crux. When activating specific Arcanist abilities, you generate Crux, which you can then spend to empower other abilities. How you utilize this unique resource in combat can have a major impact on your effectiveness as an Arcanist. You can read more about the Arcanist class in this preview—use these new powers wisely!
Group Challenges If you’re looking for a challenge, Necrom also introduces new group activities. Sanity’s Edge is a 12-player trial which tasks you and your allies with defending the fractured mind of a stricken member of the Mages Guild.

In addition, Bastion Nymic is a new kind of world event where groups of up to four can help the Prince of Fate reclaim one of his lost fortresses from mysterious invaders. New Companions & Rewards As you venture throughout both zones, you can encounter new allies including two unique Companions, Sharp-as-Night and Azandar Al-Cybiades. Both Companions can be recruited, leveled up, and equipped in this new Chapter, and each brings their own stories, combat skills and quest lines for you to unlock.
Necrom also features a host of in-game rewards you can earn as you explore and complete the game’s various quests and Achievements. Update 38

Launching at the same time as the new Chapter is Update 38, a free base-game patch for all ESO players that adds quality-of-life improvements, fixes, and new features to the game.
Collectible Favorites With Update 38, you can now designate favorites among your collectibles, moving them to the top of your Collections UI. You can choose up to 100 various collectibles with no limit on mounts, but some categories do not support this functionality at this time.
Random Mounts Update 38 also allows you to set your active mount to either “Random Favorite Mount” or “Random Mount.” When either one of these options is toggled, activating your mount in the world then summons a mount from either your selected favorites or from your entire collection—mix it up!
Filleting Multiple Stacks of Fish Tamriel’s many fishers can now fillet multiple fish simultaneously with Update 38. This can be done by visiting any Provisioning Station and selecting the new tab. You can still fillet fish one at a time from your inventory, but if you’ve got a huge catch, you will be casting more lines in no time.
New PvP Keep Messaging Finally, Update 38 also introduces improved messaging for when a keep and its resources are claimed. If your guild owns a keep, the owner will be notified when its resource guards are killed.
These are just some of the new features and changes coming with the new base-game update. You might notice changes to the reset timers for Cyrodiil and Tales of Tribute campaigns and that the indomitable Stuga is less fanatical when it comes to chasing you down in the streets of Daggerfall, Davon’s Watch, and Vulkhel Guard. To review everything coming with this base-game patch, be sure to check out the patch notes on our official forums.

2023.06.06 20:22 Puzzled_Finish9302 Rates for Boarding Senior Dogs

Hi everyone.
I’ve been Rovering for a couple of months now and things have generally been going well. I’ve found this forum super helpful in addressing my newbie questions - so huge shout out to everyone kind enough to offer their advice and counsel.
My question is regarding rates, especially those for senior dogs, including those with special needs.
First about where we live and the experience we offer:
We live in a large, relatively wealthy metro area and have five fenced acres which is highly unusual. We only board and take no more than two dogs at a time. (I do have my own dog who is about 16 pounds and very easy going.)
My husband and I work from home 100%. He’s an artist and I’m a freelance writer so we’re around all the time. I’ve also volunteered with a local animal rescue organization for the last five years, fostering all kinds of dog and cats, esp those with special needs.
We don’t kennel any of the dogs we host unless it’s at night and the owner approves. We have two kids (9 and 12) who love to cuddle and play with the dogs, so they get plenty of attention indoors and out. We all know CPR.
About my rates:
I charge $55 per night which is on the low end compared to others in my local area. Mostly because I’m trying to establish a clientele and gather reviews. I charge $100/night for puppies because they require so much TLC and are usually not neutered/spayed.
My question:
I recently received my first request to board a senior dog. She has diabetes and requires injections 2x day, is 90% blind and her food has to be handmade/cooked. She also needs to be taken out for potty 6x day. None of this is foreign or a deal breaker for me. I’m used to giving injections, and I’m confident she’ll be well taken care of.
All said, she’ll likely require as much attention as puppy, and I feel like the nightly rate to host her should reflect that but right now, senior dogs fall under my general rate of $55/night.
So, I’m curious:
1) How much do you charge for similar senior dogs?
2) How do you reflect this in your rates since there’s not an option in the app to make seniors a separate line item?
BTW, I’ve had a few people book puppies at my higher rate and not one has complained or tried to negotiate the rate.
TIA for your thoughts.

2023.06.06 19:39 xRhyfel help purchasing first road bike. 2002 Bianchi Eros or 2014 Novara Strada 3D

I’m going to buy a bike for road use, I’ve done a bit of research and lurking on various subs/forums/articles to know these are both decent options that are used and local.
Eros: $250, Campagnolo Mirage 3 x9 54cm, Mavic XP21 wheels, carbon front fork
Strada: $300, carbon forks, size Large (listing doesn’t include any more info)
both bikes seem to be in nice condition, nothing visibly out of order, and both owners claim they’re in decent condition. I’m 6’0”, I was wondering if anyone would be able to advise if these are in fact good choices based on the research I’ve done (I’m very new to this and want to make sure I’m not making a bad decision), and if these prices are reasonable for used bikes.
Thank you so much!

Mismatched Album Art - make it stop!
After 2 months of ownership this has to be the most annoying thing about my R1T. I think perhaps under-appreciated by Rivian's software prioritization process is that this is embarrassing for not only Rivian, but owners too when there are passengers in the vehicle. I'm sort of quizzical given how long this has apparently been going on that Rivian continues to even try to show album art in this mode. If you can't get it right - don't show it at all! Or allow users to disable it.
Happens for Podcasts, Music, whatever - so it is always there taunting me.
cc WassymRivian -- please fix this!
PS: It's really hard to make the arguments that have been made against phone based car-integrations if Rivian can't get this right. This is an annoyance that seems unique to Rivian.
PPS: How about a place where we can file bugs?

2023.06.06 17:44 David_pc What's the best SK Hynix P41?

Hello fellow tech enthusiasts,
I hope this post finds you all in great spirits. I'm looking for a new SK Hynix P41 solid-state drive (SSD) for my computer, and I could really use your expertise and guidance in making the best choice. As I value the opinions of knowledgeable individuals like yourselves, I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer.
To give you some context, I am currently a proud owner of a high-performance machine, and I believe it's time to upgrade my storage to boost overall system performance. After doing some research, I have found that the SK Hynix P41 series has received excellent reviews for its speed, reliability, and value for money. However, with so many variations and options available, I am a bit overwhelmed and uncertain about which one to choose.
Here are a few specific questions I have regarding the SK Hynix P41 SSD:
What are the key differences between the various models in the SK Hynix P41 series? Are there any specific features I should prioritize or avoid based on my usage requirements? In terms of performance, which capacity option would be ideal for maximizing speed and storage capacity? I'm torn between a larger capacity for future-proofing or a smaller one for better performance. Are there any compatibility concerns I should be aware of when it comes to installing the SK Hynix P41 in my specific computer setup? I want to ensure that it will seamlessly integrate with my existing components. From your experience or knowledge, are there any known issues or drawbacks with the SK Hynix P41 series that I should be aware of before making a purchase? Lastly, considering the price-to-performance ratio, which SK Hynix P41 model would you personally recommend for someone looking for the best balance between performance, reliability, and cost? I understand that everyone's needs and preferences may vary, but I value the collective wisdom of this forum. Your insights and recommendations would greatly assist me in making an informed decision and help me avoid any potential pitfalls.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and respond to my post. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions.
Thank you!

This grant request outlines our proposal to develop innovative GitHub tools that leverage decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) principles and the Algorand blockchain to manage source code through onchain voting decisions. The project aims to empower developers and communities by providing a transparent and efficient platform for collaborative decision-making and consensus-building.
The proposed solution centers around the utilization of Vote Coin standard on the Algorand blockchain to facilitate onchain voting processes. By integrating Vote Coin standard into GitHub's existing infrastructure, we aim to create a seamless experience for developers, allowing them to propose, discuss, and vote on various aspects of source code management directly within the GitHub platform.
The key objectives of this project is:
Integration with GitHub: We will build a set of tools and interfaces that seamlessly integrate with GitHub's existing functionality. These tools will enable start of DAO vote on each Pull Request, and after end of the voting session with positive DAO result, the merge of the pull request.
The successful implementation of this project will revolutionize source code management by introducing a transparent and democratic decision-making process within the GitHub ecosystem and all allgorand onchain communities. By leveraging the power of Vote Coin and the Algorand blockchain, developers and communities will have a platform to collectively shape the evolution of software projects. We believe that this project has the potential to foster collaboration, innovation, and consensus-building within the software development community, leading to enhanced quality and inclusivity in code development.
We kindly request your support in the form of a grant to bring this project to fruition and contribute to the advancement of decentralized governance within the software development ecosystem.

2023.06.06 14:38 Buzansbuttcheese PARTNERSHIP ADVICE

Hello all,
I want to start with a little background on myself. I am a semi new multi business owner in the automotive sector and I didnt have much growing up. I worked and worked until I was confident enough to leave my salary job and start my own endeavor.
Through skill, patience, and tons of sacrifice, my first business grew exponentially and gave me enough capital to open another business doing commercial automotive contracting.
Not long after I established that, Covid came and almost wiped me out, but instead of giving up, I made sure to keep all of my staff even with little to no revenue coming in.
By doing that, My staff really kicked it into overdrive and kicked enough ass that I was able to open another location doing high performance automotive work in a very high traffic area.
That shop and the commercial shop started creating a great revenue stream as well as attracted a good amount of very high end clientele.
with my reputation starting to build, I was on the hunt for my next move and there is a local building I have always wanted that I noticed went up for rent so I stopped by one day and ended up meeting a guy who had beat me to the punch.
We had a long conversation about what his plans were with the building and he informed me that he didnt really have any, that it was his grandparents building and he is unsure of what to do.
I threw the offer "if you ever want to go into the auto business, We can potentially revamp this place together"
A month goes by and I get the call.
He agrees he would like my help and to do a 50/50 partnership. So, I bring some of my staff and we renovate the building in 10 days and I open the bank accounts, do state paperwork, ETC.
We soft opened the first week of april and through my reputation and client base, Our first month was in excess of $30k and we have a log of appointments.
Now, This is where things get hairy and I am posting in here for advice on.
This partner and I agreed that will only take profits every two weeks if we can.
The first week was so strong that he decided to pull, and this has repeated every single week since then but what makes it worse is that I have not pulled anything and he watches over the bank accounts like a hawk and any time I pay a bill, I get questioned.
I am doing 96% of the work and now to make matters worse, His grandparents (the landlords) are getting involved in the business because he is going next door (they live directly next door) and giving them access to our bank accounts and legal documents.
They have started to dislike me for absolutely no reason. Every time they come outside I am working whether it be on the building or on a vehicle, while he is sitting inside on the couch. I have several supercars that I brought over to show the neighborhood we work on them as well as a little eye candy for the main road.
I am at an impasse. We have gotten noise complaint of reckless driving through the city and 90%of them are him leaving maad for something. I went to a town hall forum last night and spoke on our behalf as we are new to the area and while all of us went, after the meeting adjourned, I spent the time to meet everyone and individually address concerns, while he stood outside with my staff. Our staff urged him to come inside and listen and be by my side but he wouldnt.
I dont know how to get out of this partnership or make it better without getting nasty.
I am looking for solid advice on what to do.
I have a huge heart and actively like to fix issues.

2023.06.06 08:39 CmdrKoreg Stream Deck++ 8 knob version?

If anybody from Elgato views this forum, is there any roadmap for an 8 knob version of the +?
I am a potential purchaser (owner of 2 XLs) and I'm thinking 4 knobs is too few? An 8 knob version could potentially reduce visual context switching plus physical swiping by up to 50% - making for a much better user experience. It would also be more consistent with the 8 button wide form factor of my XLs
Are there any Stream Deck+ users (or potential buyers out there? What would you prefer? 4 knobs available, or 8 knobs?

2023.06.06 08:12 khoafraelich789 Who Owns Which Car Brands?

Who Owns Which Car Brands?
A road map to auto industry ownership and partnerships

The auto industry has a very confusing family tree. The past decade has seen partnerships, sales, separations, bankruptcies, and entire divisions killed off, making it difficult to keep up with who owns which car brands.

As automakers have slimmed down to become more profitable and efficient, we’ve seen storied names, such as Mercury, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac, fade into the history books. We’ve also seen others, such as Chrysler, Jaguar, and Volvo, find new corporate parents, outside their original country. And new companies have risen, such as Rivian and Tesla.

To help clear up some of the confusion, we present a road map to who owns which car brands sold in the U.S.

Several brands that have been retired are included in the list, such as Scion, because models are still available on the used-car market. We have omitted small-volume brands, such as Aston Martin and Ferrari, that are without major automaker parent companies.

Most brand names link to brand pages, where you will find links to current and past road tests.

Of course, the list is subject to change. To find out how the major brands compare in reliability, owner satisfaction, and road-test performance, see our brand report cards.
