2023.06.01 04:52 roxyisreal I am seeking accountability, advice,.and support for recent and past behaviors

I struggle with object permanence and it has made it challenging to feel connected to friends and family online , through technology unless they are in my face or talking to me on the phone. And even talking on the phone, I have to be able to prioritize the conversation since it takes a lot of attention. I get easily irritated with small things and this has been reported again to me by my husband. I tend not to notice since it's quick and then the emotional obstacle is over and I move on from it but I was rude to him and didn't consider his perspective. This is what I need the most help in. Recently, the pressure to have a baby is on my radar and i have been preparing myself for two years to not be needed at work and to gain more financial security. All that is missing is a house. I felt that he kept putting the focus that the house comes first and then the baby and it wasn't until this weekend that he said we can start trying this Fall. Instead of me feeling that things are lining up, I become upset that I have been thinking about becoming a parent longer and don't feel he is on the same page with me at the same time and that I am waiting for him to catch up. Like I tend to be more emotional and put a lot of emphasis on him to understand me. I tend to overthink when I don't feel understood..
We have been going to couples therapy for 3 years.I have been diagnosed with ADHD inattention in 2020 and have been going to individual therapy for 1 year and medication management for 6 months. I have been previously diagnosed and going to therapy for depression and anxiety since 2018.
So to return to the issue I want to address. I want to be heard without being viewed that I am having a temper tantrum or being called childish but I also want to not be rude/mean. I know my biggest obstacle is if no one outside of him confronts me then I don't see a problem. But when he brings it to my attention, I don't recall it since he doesn't bring it up and I can't address it or he does and this upsets me as if I'm not heard or I feel criticized. I feel sensitive when he brings it up and I want to work on it but it's hard. Again, I tend to overthink of why I'm not being understood and go down the rabbit hole of is it a gender thing, race thing, difference in culture, etc.
I also tend to "we" my issues to get him to help but then he doesn't see how much I need him to help with the structure. Like I want to create a Excel sheet with insurance information, nearest emergency room and restrictions on last medical appts of any kind, name of doctor and contact info, next follow up and a notes section and divide it by person and pets. Reason I want to start this is to organize now since when there is an accident i don't want to panic and i want to rely on him when we are taking care of a child so we're both responsible in taking the kid to the doctor and not me and he'll with communication and keeping track of the important things. I have the idea but also procrastinating on this and I have more things i can add to the procrastination. When I get a push back from him that it's not important then that bothers me and i still can't start on my idea because I want him to be involved.
How would you approach addressing being alert to being upset to minor inconveniences to regulate better your mood and learn from it for next time plus navigating procrastination and "we"ING the task with your partner?

2023.06.01 04:26 ajinaashen [PC][2018-2020] Crusader die and retry game

Platform(s): PC
Genre: Die and retry
Estimated year of release: 2018-2020
Graphics/art style: Unreal Engine
Notable characters: Crusader
Notable gameplay mechanics: hard jumps, cannonballs, checkpoints until you lose your lifes
Other details: Goofy trumpet music in the background, pretty sure that it has "Royale" in the title, most streamers played it at its release
If someone could find it for me it would be amazing.
Text version:
Today I remembered about a game that came out approximately 3 years ago that most streamers tested. It is a 3d platformer game with pretty hard jumps, your character is a crusader and there is always a goofy trumpet music playing in the background, it is a die and retry game (kinda reminds me of Getting Over It) where you can respawn at checkpoints until you keep your lives. I think it's and indie game made with unreal engine. I also remember that at the end of game after dodging cannonballs shot by a pirate boat, you have to cross a street while running and dodging other crusaders jumping and trying to kill you from your left and right. I'm pretty sure that the game contains "Royale" in its title.

2023.06.01 03:21 Impressive_Ad_4117 Help with shocks

Help with shocks
Hello everyone,
Thanks in advance for any help you guys provide. I bought a used 2012 dodge ram 1500 tradesman in 2020. The entire time I have owned the truck it would dip slightly on the passenger side front tire, sometimes rubbing on the wheel guard.
About 6 months ago I started to notice a high pitch squeaking noise. I didn't think much of it. I thought with a slightly older truck squeaks would eventually start to happen.
Well now it has become much louder and more consistent.
So I put my truck up on my ramps and crawled under to see if there was anything that stuck out as the culprit. Hence the first picture. I'm assuming I need to replace the shock absorber.
The problem I now have is that the previous owner had modified the truck, and I don't have the specifics as to what exactly they did.
From what I can tell it looks like they leveled and lowered the truck. I am not a mechanic in any way and I don't know anything about suspensions.
I measured from the ground to the top of the middle of the wheel well on the non damaged side. The front height was about 34.5 in and the rear is at 35.5 in. I have 20 in rims I think.
I'll put up a picture for reference, but it's dark outside now so I don't know how much that will help.
With the height adjusted does that impact what I can put in it or can I use stock options?

2023.06.01 03:15 BirbForceOne Entry-level employee expected to save collapsing department, no additional pay

Hey there — I'm hoping this sub can provide some perspective and advice on my current work situation. If anything in the below mass of text resonates with you, I'd love to know. Maybe I'm being a baby? LMK.
I am desperately applying for other jobs, but I am only 6 months into this position. Is it worth sucking things up and sticking around?
Spoilers: Forced to return in-person, bad boss, additional work but no additional pay

Background
I am a semi-recent grad (2020) working in the marketing department of older company with a settled workforce — most have been there for 10+ years, and they are fairly impassionate about the work. They just coast, and barely. Though I'm in a stage where I'm looking to grow and learn in my career, I don't necessarily have a problem with the coasting. I DREAM of coasting. It's just that I'm the only one working, the department seems to be collapsing, and it feels like it's on me to save it.. just 6 months after my start date.
I'm practically entry level in my department, but have taken on a large portion of my boss's work. Most of my challenges are organizational: siloed workflows, no one is clear on what other people do, impossible deadlines are set by disorganized teams. I've had to fix operational challenges and overhaul processes that should have been fixed by my manager when they started a decade ago.
My boss continues to slough more work onto my plate. When I ask them for support on projects, they agree to help but then at the 11th hour either provide me with incorrect / bad work, or they admit they forgot to do it and tell me to handle. I can't depend on them. I've worked overtime so many days because of this (salaried / exempt, unfortunately). Pushing back has been challenging, because I don't know how to ask my boss for help when they are part of the problem.
I've risen to the challenge for the most part. I am well known on the team as providing the best work in a timely, organized way, and I'm an incidental Golden Child of the department VP who likes my "zest" for innovating... or whatever. That said, I don't see any potential for career growth here (I feel like I'm teaching my boss, not the other way around) and I've been noticing a creeping sense of burn out, in spite of my best efforts to set boundaries.

The Current Situation
Last week, the department VP (responding to bad revenue projections) is panicking. In an emotionally charged meeting, they shared the following with us:
His tone was stressed and a little pissed off sounding. I kept a straight face but internally felt annoyed by his efforts to gaslight us into thinking we're replaceable, or that we're the ones at fault for the lack of leadership and initiative in the department.
Now, this week, I've learned that I will be taking on the bulk of responsibilities left over from the laid-off employees. These are not responsibilities I was hired for, and additionally they are responsibilities of a titled manager (my title is below that of a manager).
I asked my boss if we will re-prioritize goals to adjust for the new categories I'll be handling and they responded no, that we just need to "work smarter". They have previously shown no talent for working smart, so I'm not feeling hopeful here. I was already working consistent overtime, and now I'm being told we're in a "crunch time" and I can expect a bit more work.
I'm also frustrated remote work affords me the ability to actually rest. Even when I'm up til 11 working, I can get at least 7 hours in. Now I have to add a commute to my day (in Los Angeles, no less).
Could someone shine a light on what's going on here? I'm so constantly overwhelmed with the workload that I can't get a proper read on this.

2023.06.01 02:27 Jabre7 Is this good at all, for Melee Prowler?

I'm doing my no boomerangs Prowler challenge(remember Beast and Rath of Meow are also banned), and I reached HR2(I'm not even 3☆ in Village yet BTW), then immediately fought Yian Garuga for his gear since he's the strongest there. Turns out not only was it better in attack and affinity, poison element seems to get REALLY good buildup with melee attacks as a cat. I was thinking of running a poison build for a while, maybe switching to paralysis if there's good ways to upgrade that and it's as good with buildup as poison.
My plan was to unlock Dreadqueen, get her weapon, once I reach High Rank I would get HR Garuga, then Deadeye. From there idk, I'll either switch to Para or keep going with Poison.
Is this actually good at all? I am still using bombs, adept dodge and adept Guard, as well as melee focused skills once I get them.

2023.06.01 02:08 blueyedwiitch Feeling picked on from another player (spouse brother), am I in the wrong for feeling this way? The party/friends notice too

(sorry if my spelling, or writing isn't the greatest, it's not my strongest)
My spouse wanted to start a DnD campaign and DM, and been doing this since December last year.
He invited his friends and his brother, since we share the apartment together and felt it be rude if he didn't ask. He's been a Dm for a lot campaigns online, and wanted to have one in person with everyone, to also remain in touch and get to know everyone better, and new people that joined the group of friends he grew up with - Which is awesome, and I'm happy I get to be involved and get to know them and play. As a background to before this campaign his brother caused issue with my spouse and me, as he was and has been a bad roommate and he likes, and talks about very uncomfortable things that were both weirded out by.. especially me being a girl, and the things he talks about women/girls is wrong and creepy and he's been passive aggressive towards me at times..

So, when we first started the campaign, I created ranger drake warden (wood elf), and his brother made a ranger gloom stalker (vampire)
As role playing, my character is grew up in the fey and has a dragon, as there mentor, that they help and had a satyr who is very trickery, plays pranks so on. So, she likes collecting, shiny things/or random objects she finds of interest, to hoard to give to her dragon mentor to add to their hoard of treasure. So she's just this
His brother plays this vampire gloom stalker ranger, and his personality is dark, pessimistic, and challenges people? Which is fine.
Here are some scenario's that have made me uncomfortable and picked on, and has been also made the whole group feel awkward at times, when he does or say things.

  1. When first started, he was buddy buddy with everyone and as soon, as I was brought in to the group to help join there group for a culling. I was introduced by the npc, who was in charge of all these other culling's group to help the town, and he started to shout, I don't trust this BITCH, she just some broad we don't know her.
I was so confused how he switched up as I joined in? Mind you no one in the group knew each other, at all and everyone was all chill with everyone, so I don't get how he doesn't know anyone else's character and suddenly I'm attacked?
  1. Beginning we decided he would be in charge of the bag of holding and track of the group money, items etc.
Everyone put their money in together but, another player and I said we would like to keep track of our own stuff but, we will pitch in 50g for our party and keep our own gold for our own things we may need, or related to our characters stories.
Which was fine, everyone was super good with that and had no problem and still helped contribute to the party gold.
so when we killed some infected as our first combat, we were all looting bodies, and I walked to under this stair where a body was and looted it for my self as it was some jeweler, and a little gold and keep this for myself, like the other player who wanted to loot for his character too.
He asked DM to do a perception check to see if he catches me looting, and he rolled high and was able to see me do so. He then shouts hey you can't do that! Fk that, you don't get anything now, you don't get our money or stuff no access to bag of holding. I was so confused, I was starring like what? I told him, I put my own money in there though to help with group gold. He said to bad.
Everyone made a face and was silent, and the guy who shared his gold in the party like me, offered to use his bag of holding seeing how distraught I was about what happened.
The DM (was quiet and later few days talked to him about it)
  1. He has this weird things with girls, and talks about us like were cleaners, just mother, very backward stuff like past thinking. I'm not going to delv in it but, its very uncomfortable...
To that point, we were chatting as characters and suddenly he shouted she's probably some man hating, fem-a-nazi, right, (my characters name). I don't get where this came from??? My character has been quiet and friendly with everyone (the friends/ are all men by the way and super great guys) nothing was indicated that she didn't like men, and she's not like that, nor am I??
I don't think he's separating his character from his self and it's showing.
Calls women whores, and so on, and I'm getting so flustered and trying to not let his behavior ruin the campaign, or my fun. He turns break during DND convos about women, and pick's on me calling me names and swearing at me acting as a joke but, I don't find it that way. He later apologized after I think he heard me talking to DM, my spouse about how it made me feel.. He said just the way us guys talk. Maybe there are people like that but, the guy playing, have never talked that way about women so negativity and he was the only one talking like this and turning the break into lets shit on girls. I told him that, said thank you for the apology and he was quiet after.

  1. My character like to pickpocket NPC's sometimes, as this fey/ and dragon habits she collects things.
His character never see's this, as no one else does but, obviously when DM is roleplaying scenario, he the player will hear. He has gone after me, always trying to ruin the fun and saying ya we know your thief and cause mischief- (no one else is bugged, and a lot of them cause so much mischief and mishaps with npc, and its been fun. For some reason he always targets me and trys to get me in trouble and puts me down with this but, no one else. He's tried help this NPC get me killed. There a rule he made, no one steals from the party, to which I wouldn't ever do that, and I know how wrong that is it caused drama and has never been a thought.
my character, mage hand (it's invincible cantrip forget what is called exactly) rings off an NPC (whos' travelling with us and places one on one of the party member (not the brother) cause as this fey like character she likes jokes, and noticed this party member was dubious and kinda hostile jokingly with this NPC as he didn't want him to take his job. we all laughed. So they guy woke up and asked how this ring came on him and NPC suspected he stole it form him, everyone was laughing like mad, even the guy who I planted it on. Then the brother's character reacts says no stealing from party that was my rule, and points at me then says "only you and this other character cause mischief". I wasn't stealing from party, it was NPC just joining us? He ruins the fun, were not leaving till we find out.
The brother and the guy I planted on tried to find out who it was in character. i passed the check for this zone of truth, from the character I planted it on, and he laughed. But the brother was still after me, and NPC was threatening to kill me. He was after me non, stop but, everyone I mean everyone but the brother help me, get out of it and did there best. which I succussed in dodging and passing/beating every check the brother did to catch me as the person who planted it and was ruining the fun. One of the players said, wow you really want here dead and caught.
After the session ended, the guy I planted the ring on, came up to me told me to do more stuff like this and the mischief it was fun and wanted to see more from me and it made me so happy. I was so worried after the brother kept coming after me

  1. He's taken charge of everything and takes things to seriously, it's crazy. We asked couple guys from group opinion of brother and how they enjoyed playing with him since they don't know him well.
They said he takes this too seriously, and one of them said noticed tension between me and him. keeps going after me.
They enjoy some of his jokes and such but, times it goes quiet and awkward

He controls everything, dictates what to do or how to kill enemy who should attack. He cheats and doesn't listen to DM sometimes about how to do things.
Thinks if he fails a check, he can keep going again and again, but gets told he can't do that.
Makes alot of the campaign about him.

AM I being to sensitive or overthinking it.

Apologies, if I was rambling, or getting side tracked.

Can Florida's results be replicated nationwide? Is an urban area of Florida representative of an urban area of Michigan? Are first time voters in Florida representative of first time voters in Michigan?
The Great Blue Wall, which had safely been considered Democrat since 1992, fell thanks to President Trump's appeal with anti-war working-class Obama voters. Wikipedia states that 13% of Trump Voters previously voted for Obama. Many working class blue Obama areas turned red. Will DeSantis win over these working class Rustbelt voters?
1/3rd of Arizona Voters are Independent. How do Florida Independent voters compare to Arizona Independent voters?
12% of Bernie Sanders supporters voted for Trump according to Wikipedia. This figure is far higher than the 5% of Democrat voters who voted for Trump nationwide. So, in which states do these disaffected voters reside? Florida? The Rustbelt? Somewhere else? Will they like DeSantis as much as they liked Trump? Will DeSantis challenge the system like Trump did?

2023.06.01 01:54 Leading_Shake6242 Deadlands classic: Huckster build suggestions

I will soon be starting a deadlands campaign as a huckster and would like to get feedback on what people think are some good hexes and tricks. I will be playing with a fairly large group so firepower won’t be a problem. I’m guessing I will end up being the most level headed and strategic of the group. So far the hexes I am considering the most are • bodyguard - to keep myself going • penny ante - to help my allies with rolls • phantom fingers - because a basically telekinesis hex sounds fun • black lightnin’ - even thought I don’t necessarily need to do damage it could come in handy everyone once in awhile I can have 5 hexes to start and I will attach my current character sheet to the post. I would love any suggestions anyone might have and am willing to change anything.

2023.06.01 01:49 xtremexavier15 TSWT 24 (pt 2)

The title screen was shown once again, the Aftermath theme playing as the flaring letters took the scene back to the beach where Josh was now standing alone.
"Welcome back to the Total Drama Aftermath!" he greeted. "Bruno's been restrained, and now we're going to take this episode to the next level of excitement. Here's Dawn with the deets!"
"Thanks, Josh!" Dawn said as the scene cut to a cliff near a large waterfall, the Peanut Gallery members assembled closer to the edge and divided roughly based on who they were supporting. "So, have any of you missed being in the game?"
The camera cut closer to the nineteen former competitors, none of whom said anything.
"That's what I expected!" Dawn continued, "because you're going to be competing to help your favorite Final Three contestants win!" he said as the camera panned over the unenthused faces of the gallery.
"Unsurprisingly," Dawn said, looking at the lack of Mal supporters, "no one has Mal's back for the finale."
"If it was Mike, then some of us would switch sides just to support him," Eva said.
"Good point," Dawn nodded, "but this challenge won't work that well because of it. So temporarily, I'd like some of you to switch over to Mal's side."
"Not going to happen," Ella disagreed.
"Definitely," Sadie agreed.
"Just think of it as supporting Mike, or else I'll make you do so," Dawn got serious.
Not having a choice, Beth, Brick, Cody, Courtney, Shawn, and Sky stepped over to Mal's side.
"I'm glad to hear you guys are so passionate about who you're supporting," Josh said as he walked up to the group, "because one member of each team is about to risk their lives for their favorite! Any volunteers?"
"I will volunteer," Ella immediately volunteered for Team Ezekiel.
"But I wanted to do it," Harold said.
"Surfing the waves can improve my mood, and I need a stress reducing activity to take part in," Ella mentioned.
"Let me be Mal's proxy," Shawn told his team. "I could use more screentime."
"You are skilled enough to go on a surfing mission," Cody said. "Go for it."
"Thanks!" Shawn cheered. "I get to show you all my newfound surfing skills."
"And who's going to represent Team Izzy?" Dawn asked the team.
"Ooh! Me me me!" Owen stepped up immediately.
"Perfect! Let's take a look at what Ella, Shawn, and Owen are up against," Josh said with a knowing look at the camera, and the shot cut to the bottom of a lower cliff face with a staircase carved into it. "Players have to race to the top," the host said as the shot panned upward a little ways to another grassy area where a trio of wooden heads sat behind a simple altar, the central one large and intimidating, "and then snag one of the traditional Hawaiian leis from Lono, the Hawaiian god of prosperity and sporting events." The camera zoomed in close to the central wooden depiction of the god, then panned leftward to six surfboards in a variety of colors and styles standing nearby.
"Then, grab a surfboard and take it back down the stream!" Josh continued, the camera moving towards a rapid stream running down a fairly steep slope. "And when you get to the bottom, watch out! There's a bit of a lava spray nearby," the host said, the camera cutting to the mouth of the stream at a waterfall situated next to a small but active lava vent that shot out a small burst of molten rock. A few yards away from the stream's mouth, floating on the ocean, were a trio of rafts that were empty save the flag each bearing a face of one of the finalists.
Ella, Owen, and Shawn gasped in shock.
"It's a good thing no one got heavily injured," Dawn quietly told Josh. "Everyone's in perfect shape for this challenge."
"First though," Josh said as the shot zoomed out to reveal the large blackboard that had been wheeled next to them, "here are some pictures of animals you can find in Hawaii!" he said, motioning to the images on the board.
"If you went to the Maui Zoo!" Dawn added.
"Each team must pick an animal to represent the spirit of their player," Josh explained as the camera zoomed in for a closer look at the choices: bear, dolphin, Doberman Pinscher, shark, deer, jaguar, rhinoceros, raccoon, moose, lion, and kangaroo.
"Owen," he turned first to the optimist, "which animal do you think best represents Izzy?"
"I'm going to go with the jaguar," Owen responded. "They're both super fast."
"So Izzy's spirit animal is a jaguar!" Dawn said with a smile. "Shawn, can you choose for Mal?"
"Drats," Shawn said. "There are so many vicious ones?" He stared at the board for a few moments.
"You do realize this show's half-hour right?" Josh asked impatiently.
"It's only twenty-two minutes," Shawn corrected. "And that's counting the opening and closing credits. I got it!" he declared suddenly. "Shark. Mal is a shark."
"That's a not so obvious choice," Dawn deadpanned.
"Sharks aim to kill, and Mal has the same motive," Shawn said.
"Ella, you're next. What's your choice for Ezekiel?" Josh asked the princess.
"Deer," Ella said confidently. "Ezekiel's a deer."
"Why are you picking a deer for Ezekiel?" Duncan asked.
"He's pure when compared to Izzy and especially Mal," Ella answered.
Josh spoke up. "Here's the catch: If you can make it all the way down the stream and past the lava spray without losing your leis," he explained as the camera cut to the mouth of the stream as another spurt of molten rock shot out of the vent, "you have to put that lei on your team's spirit animal to win." The shot moved down to the three rafts, upon which the three chosen animals were now standing tethered to the posts holding up the pictures of the finalists: Ezekiel's deer on the right; Mal's shark in the middle; and Izzy's jaguar on the left. The black male intern finished adjusting a collar on the jaguar's neck and the animal snarled at him, prompting the intern to fearfully turn and dive into the water.
"Looks like we made good decisions with our animals," Shawn told Ella. "Sad to say, but I'm dominating this challenge."
"Getting a lei on a shark will be harder than a deer," Ella replied.
"I really hope that jaguar doesn't eat my lei," Owen begged to himself.
"Whoever manages to lei their animal first will win a major advantage for their finalist, and whoever gets second will win a modest advantage," Dawn announced.
"And last place gets nothing," Josh added, "which will make winning really hard for their finalist, assuming they can even make it to the final challenge."
"Good luck!" Dawn told them brightly.
"And go!" Josh set them off.
Shawn struck a karate pose. "Prepare to lose to my combat and survival skills!" He ran off at top speed, leaving Owen and Ella behind.
"That advantage belongs to Ezekiel," Ella added before running off as well.
"Up I go," Owen said to himself before running in the opposite direction…only to realize his mistake and ran to where Ella and Shawn went.
\
The footage flashed ahead, showing the leis and the giant carved head of Lono as Shawn skidded up to it in his normal clothes. "Mighty Lono," he said reverently, "thank you for this flowery blessing!" He picked up a lei. "I may have forgotten my swim trunks, but I won't let you down!" he said as he looked to the sky.
It was stolen, however, by the sudden reappearance of Ella, now changed into her pink short dress-like one piece. "We'll see about that," the princess said as the conspiracy boy scowled.
Owen was the last to arrive, wearing a pair of orange trunks. He was panting as he ran and bashed his head against every low-hanging tree branch he encountered. When he finally made it to the leis, he stopped long enough to pant. "Whoo, that is steep. But I made it."
The trademark dings of a musical number sounded, the note icon appearing just above Owen.
"Sorry," Dawn said as she walked up, "but Chris said we have to make you sing a song."
"Aww man. I thought we were done with that," Shawn griped.
"I didn't mind it now," Ella said. "So what are we supposed to sing about?" she asked Dawn.
"Just a challenge song," Dawn told her.
///\
[A drumline opened the song, an acoustic guitar soon joining in as Ella bobbed her head to the rhythm.]
"Doing this Hawaii style; surfing through this magic mile!"
[The waterfall and cliff were shown from a distance as she began singing, then the shot cut in close to the surfboards again as she grabbed a yellow one, spun it around, and dipped it as though it was a dance partner.]
"Just hope I can get past by, the lava that is flying!"
[A quick pan showed the stream below, then returned to the clifftop as Ella looked down determinedly, then jumped with her lei in one hand and her board beneath her.]
"One last chance to prove my might; what else keeps me up at night!"
[Shawn sang next, looking down thoughtfully with his lei clenched in his left fist; he extended his right hand as if to grab something, then spun around and grabbed a red and orange striped surfboard from the row.]
"Why else would I volunteer, for something death-defying?!"
[He smiled confidently, then sang as he ran across to the cliff's edge, jumping into the air and putting his board beneath him. A splash was heard as the scene cut to the stream.]
"I'm winning for real!"
[Ella sang confidently, Shawm soon catching up, singing "Yeah yeah!"]
"I'm winning this deal!"
[Shawn shot back, pulling ahead as Ella repeated "Yeah yeah!"]
"I'm a surfing goddess!"
[Ella countered, pulling ahead again as Shawn sang "Yeah yeah!"]
"You're put to the test!"
[Shawn countered back as he regained the lead, Ella once again repeating "Yeah yeah!" as she caught back up.]
"I'm not stiff, but I don't move much! So what if I can't such and such!"
[Owen sang as the focus moved back to him on the top of the cliff, holding his green surfboard with a lucky charm implanted as if it were a dance partner. He stopped 'dancing' to hold his lei.]
"I'm the king...of Izzy's team! So! I'll show them I'm a winner!"
[He deftly moved behind his surfboard and shoved it to the cliff. The camera cut to the cliff as it soared toward the edge, but cut away before it was shown falling off.]
"I'm winning for Zeke!"
[Ella sang, the focus cutting back to her close-up. In the background, Shawn and Owen sang "Yeah yeah!" together.]
"'Cause I'm not weak!"
[The camera pulled back to show an image of Ezekiel sitting on the surfboard and waving to a happy Ella before disappearing in a sudden puff. Once again, Owen and Shawn sang "Yeah yeah!" in the background.]
"I'm surfing for Mal!"
[Shawn sang as the camera cut to him, showing an image of Mal sitting on the edge of the surfboard and smiling triumphantly. In the background, Ella and Owen sang "Yeah yeah!"]
"And he's not my pal!"
[Shawn sang skeptically, the image of Mal on his board squinting her eyes in frustration and disappearing with a puff.
"Aaahhh!" Ella suddenly yelped, gaining the attention of both Shawn and the camera. "Hot hot hot!" she said in a slight panic as she ducked under a few burning rocks that had been ejected from the volcanic vent. "Ahh!" she finished as the tip of her board was singed by one.
"Ah!" Shawn said, the camera cutting back to him as he also tried to dodge the semi-molten rock and got his board burned in the process. "No fair!"]
"This is messed up, it's true!"
[Owen sang to a few pointed drum beats, the shot cutting to a close-up of him in a surfing pose.]
"I'm not planning to sue!"
[The camera pulled back to show Owen riding his surfboard through the lava spray.]
"Step aside and let me through!"
[Shawn sang to Ella, speeding up and passing her; in the background, all three of their voices chanted "Yeah yeah!"]
"I'm not quitting soo~oon!"
[Ella countered, quickly catching up so that she and Shawn were vying for the lead. Once again, all three of their voices chanted "Yeah yeah!" in the background.]
"Oh~oh, I'm winning this ti~ime!"
[Ella continued, taking the lead briefly as the three voices chanted "Yeah yeah!" once again.]
"Sorry Ella, it's mine!"
[Shawn countered, taking the lead again as the three voices chanted "Yeah yeah!"]
"Sorry but I'm be-hind!"
[Owen told them, catching up to them but not gaining the lead.]
"Oh~oh, I'm winning this time!"
[The three sang together, the camera zooming out to show Shawn in the lead, Ella behind him, and Owen in the rear.]
"Yeah, yeah, yeah!"
[The three sang together again, finishing out the song.]
///
Shawn was still in the lead after the music faded out, and was quickly faced with another volley of burning rocks. He quickly swerved out of the way of one after the other. He quickly looked back, but in his distraction, allowed another burning rock to land on his board just as he shot off the final waterfall.
He smiled confidently, then looked down and noticed the rock burning his board. "That isn't good!" he said, his panic causing him to throw his lei a little early. He splashed down safely into the ocean, but the ring of flowers didn't quite make it all the way to its intended target – it only landed in the tank, and was promptly picked up and swallowed by the shark. The shark laughed playfully, earning a groan from Shawn.
"WOOHOO!" Owen cheered as he fell off his board and landed in the ocean. The camera followed the surfboard as it sailed through the air with the lei on top... and was kicked by the jaguar into the water herself.
"Ooh," Dawn and Josh winced from the host couch.
"Whoops," Owen winced as the camera cut to him.
He was promptly alerted by a scream overhead, and looked up to see Ella finally shooting over the waterfall on her board. She flew straight for her target, and the deer smiled at the human coming its way. The princess managed to splash down right in front of the raft and let the lei loose as she did so, and she managed to hook it on the deer's antlers. Ella resurfaced behind the raft.
"Did I win?" she said, looking around as she caught her breath.
"Ella won it!" Josh said as the scene returned to the hosts and the crowd went wild.
"The others were close though," Dawn added.
"So is Bruno going to be sent to your animal shelter?" Josh asked the moonchild.
"He is, but I'm going to ask Ella to take care of him by singing her songs in case he acts out of control," Dawn winked.
A cough interrupted them. "Sorry," Ella said as she walked up, Shawn and Owen right behind her and all three still dripping wet, "but what did I win?"
Josh smiled. "That was an impressive display, Ella," Josh told her, "but, no one was actually supposed to win."
"What?" the three challenge competitors said at once, the crowd wincing and murmuring their obvious disapproval.
"It was Chris's idea," Dawn explained. "But someone did win, because all of you are excellent!" She looked at the camera, and the crowd cheered. "And thanks to Ella, Ezekiel is going to receive a major advantage to use in the final challenge!" As she spoke, the black male intern brought a wheelbarrow out center stage. "Which is good for our underdog of the season," she added. "A wheelbarrow!" she announced, the camera moving in for a close-up of the tool. "It'll make sense later," she added as and aside.
"Team Mal, congrats," she continued. "You win the minor advantage: a baby stroller!" A white male intern wheeled the carriage out next to the wheelbarrow.
"And since Team Izzy came in last," Josh announced, "Izzy wins nothing but chance of losing the finale!"
Dawn laughed a bit. "That's not going to help her in the final challenge."
"How will Ezekiel's advantage play out?" Dawn asked the camera with a smile. "Will Mal be able to keep up with just a stroller? Will Izzy even be able to keep up with her disadvantage?"
"How in the name of Lono will any of them get here for the finale?" Josh added.
"Find out the answers to those and a lot of other questions next time," Dawn said as the season's blaring title music played, "on Total! Drama! World Tour!"
(Roll the Credits)

(Bonus Clip)
The clip opened to the Hawaiian beach. Ella was reclining on a chair in her swimsuit as Ron and Luna accompanied her.
"Now remember, Bruno will join the animal shelter, so do your best to make him feel welcome," Ella advised the hawk and rabbit, who nodded in agreement.
She then saw Sadie walking up to her. "Hello Sadie. The episode is over, so you're free to converse with me," Ella said.
Sadie sat next to Ella while Ron and Luna left in order to give them privacy.
"You were right about Mal being in control over Mike, and I didn't believe you because I didn't think anyone could be truly evil," Sadie began her apology.
"You never took into consideration my words, and that really hurt me as we were friends," Ella responded.
"You were right. I was so mean to you, and you were just trying to help me," Sadie said. "I'm sorry for doing those things."
"I should apologize as well. I was too fierce in trying to get you to believe me, and that made you irritated," Ella apologized as well.
"So can we go back to being best friends before the Mal fiasco?" Sadie begged.
"No. BFFFLS!" Ella spoke jovially before they embraced each other and stayed that way for a while.
The camera cut to the left to show Ron, Luna, and Bruno smiling and wiping tears at Ella and Sadie's reconciliation.

2023.06.01 01:33 More-Head6459 DEFENDING the DRAFT: 2023 WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Defending the Draft: 2023 Washington Commanders 8-8-1
Preface:
Hope.
This 2023 season will be the most interesting for the Commanders franchise in a long long time. We enter this season with more uncertainty than I have ever been a part of, however, the one thing the fan base is certain of... is the future is brighter. Dan Snyder purchased the franchise in 1999 and subsequently done nothing but run a blue blood franchise into the ground. This team has lacked direction for a long time and a large part of that was due to Dan Snyder's meddling in the day-to-day football operations of the team. Starting his ownership with signing washed up HOF veterans, to then overspending in free agency (Albert Haynesworth is arguably the worst free agent signing of all time), drug scandal with thetraining staff, the mishandling of the RG3 and Kirk Cousins situation, Not resigning Trent Williams, and lastly we've now reached tumultuous time where his off the field issues have hung a dark cloud over a once proud franchise. Although, lol, his most egregious mistake may be hiring Jim Zorn as head coach. It's egregious that his only punishment is a 6 billion dollar payout for his franchise. I hope the banks bury him and he faces the deserved legal actions. As of now there had been an agreement to sell the franchise to 76'rs and NJ Devils owner, Josh Harris.... and is 20ish members of his parliament. We await to hear news of the reviews from the NFL financial committee to close out the process. Last news I came across was he has cut down the number of minority owners to 20. It will be a pleasure when this agreement is finalized. He could be a terrible owner, but it would still be an upgrade from Synder. Harris, seemingly has been a hands off owner and properly allows the people he's hired to operate the team. This last sports season he's had both of his teams deep in the playoff hunt. This season will be interesting. A lot of questions all around: Sam Howell? Chase Young? Ron Rivera? Eric Bienemy? Josh Harris? I'm not sure of those answers, but I'm very excited to find them out.
Coaching:
HC- Ron Rivera OC- Eric Bieniemy DC- Jack Del Rio
Key Additions: Eric Bieniemy
Ole' Riverboat Ron Rivera is back and going into his 4th season with the Washington Commanders, hopefully his last. I believe Ron Rivera is a leader of men, but I highly question his actual coaching skills and team building. I've currently seen enough of this coaching regime and front office to safely say let's move on. There's been several things that I believed were firable offenses.... the Carson Wentz trade. Some rumors have said that this was a Snyder push. Not entirely positive, but Ron bragged that it was his call. Our team at that point was not a qb away from being really good, let alone a Carson Wentz level of qb. The next fireable offense was starting Wentz over Hienke when the playoffs were on the line. Wentz ended up being benched for Hienke, but it was too little too late. The next fireable offense was not realizing we were eliminated from the playoffs. Going into the last week of the season Ron planned on starting Hieneke. Pretty odd to not know you're out of the playoffs, let alone to test Sam Howell out for next season. Additionally, there's been some pretty questionable roster creation decisions. I absolutely hate the versatile secondary and offensive line philosophy. We currently have a patch work offensive line that has the means to fluctuate between average to below average. Not a single player on the line is top 5 at their respected position. Two years ago we had a top 10 o-line, but that had Brandon Sherff playing like a top 5 guard and Charles Leno having his best season. Our o-line took a significant step back this past season and now looks to be our biggest weakness. Ron has shown to trust his own board and has reached (according to the consensus big board) with every single pick so far. People mistake 2019 as one of his drafts ( Sweat, McLaurin, Holcomb), but he was hired at the end of the season. Take this with a grain of salt as it takes at least 3 years to properly review a draft. Rons 1st round picks have been the following: 2020 pick 2 Chase Young- the correct pick at the time, but hard to botch the 2nd overall pick, 2021 pick 19 Jamin Davis- hated the pick at the time, too early for a linebacker... let a lone a project. On tape he looked lost a lot and made up for it with his elite athleticism. He's shown progress, but nothing showing he's worthy of the pick. 2022 pick 16 Jahan Dotson- looks to be an absolute baller, had him ranked above Olave in the pre-draft process. Was a slight reach above the consensus board, but flashed high end ability. Davis has been the only mistake in the 1st round thus far. When I say mistake I don't necessarily mean player, but the roster building philosophy. Whether reaching on Phidarian Mathis in the 2nd round of 2022. Lol, he was older than Payne coming out of the draft, one year of good production, and was taken a round too early. In the next round Brian Robinson was taken and was really just a body. Haven't really seen anything elite with him so far and was a meh pick. John Bates in the 4th round was egregious. Now I have to give credit where it's due. Kam Curl was an absolute steal and can solidify himself as top 5 safety this season if he continues to play this well. Our other starting safety in Darrick Forest also had a lot of bright spots playing this past season.
Arguably, our best offseason move was signing Eric Bieniemy. I'm absolutely excited. Forget everything about him not calling the plays. Reports from OTA's shows his hands on approach and full control of the offense. One of my favorites things I've heard is he is using OTA's to see what the players can do and crafting the offense to their abilities. Time and time again (Scott Turner) you see coaches say this is the offense and not change anything to match the players strengths. We don't know for sure how the offense will look, but if it's anything close to the motion west coast offense the Chiefs have... boy lessssss gooooooo. Jack Del Rio has been up-and-down in his time in Washington. He's had two very slow starts with the defense to start year, however, they've finished strong and kept his job safe. This is really the no excuse year and everyone needs to show up amd show out.
Free Agency:
Key Departures:
Taylor Hieneke- signed with the Falcons
Cole Holcolm- signed with the Steelers
Bobby McCain- signed with the Giants
Carson Wentz- TBD
J.D. McKissic- TBD
Trai Turner TBD
Andrew Norwell- will be released when he passes a physical
Summary:
In my personal oppinion, the only player that hurt losing in free agency was Cole Holcolm. Linebacker is our one weak spot on defense, however, not resigning Holcolm shows Ron's belief in Jaymin Davis's progression. Cole was limited to 7 games last season and has yet to truly break out. Always played very solid and losing him downgraded the position. We've moved on from both starting guards from last year in Norwell and Turner (previously on the Panthers). Both players were liabilities last season and the guard position was easily upgradeable. Bonny McCain was a solid do it all for is player. Lined up at corner, safety, and nickel throughout the season. Hieneke was a big fan favorite, but was never the answer. We thank you for your service though. Carson Wentz, fuck you. Loved J.D. and his time here, suffered a major injury. Not sure if he gets picked up hy another team.
Key Additions:
Andrew Wiley- 3 years for 24 million, 12 guaranteed. Previously on the Chiefs
Nick Gates- 3 years for 16.5 million, 8 million guaranteed. Previously on the Giants
Jacoby Brissett- 1 year for 8 million, 7.5 million guaranteed. Previously on the Browns
Cody Barton- 1 year for 3.5 million, 3.5 million guaranteed. Previously on the Seahawks
Summary:
Simple. In free agency the Commanders did not overspend and tackled positions of need. None of the players signed are top 5 at their position, however, they could all possibly end up being upgrades to what we have. The most interesting is Andrew Wiley. He allowed 9 sacks (tied for 3rd most)... but man he put on the performance of his life in the superbowl. Another stat that favors him is pass block win-rate, which measure if a lineman can sustain a block for 2.5 seconds. Wylie ranked 9th in that stat last season. I translate that stat to mean can a lineman sustain a block against thr initial rush and counter move off the snap. After that 2.5 seconds the ball is thrown or the play breaks down. Another key factor to this signing is it kicks Samuel Cosmi inside to guard. Cosmi has shown flashes being a high end lineman and I expect him to be even better kicking to guard from right tackle. Guard was our weakest position on the line and Wylie signing helped to upgrade the RG position. Nick Gates is expected to he our starting center. He's coming off of a brutal leg injury that made him consider retirement. Has played guard and center and has some positional flexibility. Jacoby Brissett is the best backup qb in thr league. A solid signing if Howell doesn't pan out. Just a solid game manager that doesn't commit many turnovers. Cody Barton is another unproven guy. Last year was his first year with significant reps. Bobby Wagner leaving in FA and Jordyn Brooks injury made em the guy. He showed flashes of coverage abilities and had a lot of tackles. The tackles weren't necessarily a product of his abilities and more so of cleaning up on a bad run defense team. I've read some notes that he has trouble getting off of blocks. Honestly, haven't watched much on the guy, but reports were he played solid down the stretch.
The Draft:
Link to all RAS scores for our draft class
https://commanderswire.usatoday.com/lists/2023-nfl-draft-ras-scores-for-the-washington-commanders-7-player-class-emmanuel-forbes/
Round 1:16 Emmanuel Forbes 6'1" 174 lbs. Mississippi St
Stats: 58 targets, 31 catches allowed for 284 yards (23 yards a game), 3 tds allowed/ 6 ints, 9 forced incompletions, 2 dropped ints, 46 tackles.
PFF Grade: 87.2
If being a 160 pounds is your only knock then I think you're doing something alright. The word on the street is he is already up to 174 pounds. You wouldnt realize hes only 174 pounds by the way he plays the run. Hes not scared to hit and flies ro the ball. Although, he does struggle to get off of blocks. Emmanuel Forbes, per PFF, had the highest rating in man coverage last season, albeit the snap count was very miniscule. Emmanuel Forbes is a lanky corner than played a lot of zone coverage and is a very good scheme fit for what we do. I like the pick and I'm not upset about taking him over Gonzalez, who also had his own question marks. Forbes set a NCAA record with 6 pick sixes. A lot of those were the right place at the right time, but when you have that high of a number than you're doing something right.
PFF:
Forbes is one of the best ballhawks in this class. Over the course of his three-year career, he came down with 13 interceptions. That’s four more than the next closest Power Five cornerback since 2020. Forbes was unbelievably dominant in man coverage in 2022, giving up only three catches while also snagging three interceptions. He also only allowed a 20% completion rate in man, the lowest among FBS
PROS
Remarkably lanky frame. Limbs for days — ideal for a corner.Has bounce like a hooper. He can challenge any catch point necessary. Elite ability to locate the football. All six of his interceptions came in man coverage.
CONS
Still a stick. Not much mass on his frame. Has eyes that get him in trouble. Some freelance tendencies on tape. Can get bowled over in the run game. Mediocre tackler over the course of his career.
Round 2: 47 Jartavius "Quan" Martin 5'11". 194 lbs Illinois
Stats: 74 targets, 42 catches allowed, 611 yards allowed, 3 tds allowed, 3 ints, 15 forced incompletions, 2 dropped ints, 4 missed tackles, 64 tackles.
PFF Grade: 73.2
Quan is a beast. I thought he was the 2nd best nickel prospect in the draft and a better deep safety than Brian Branch. Martin absolute rockets around the field in the run game. He started his career at cornerback before transitioning into the safety/nickel position. Another elite athlete that is a perfect fit for our Buffalo Nickel defense.
PFF:
Martin came to Illinois and immediately started as a true freshman in 2018. He originally started off as an outside corner before becoming more of a slot corner recently. He had arguably his best year in 2022, as his 15 forced incompletions were tied for the sixth-most among Power-Five corners. Martin’s 91.0 run-defense grade also led all Power Five cornerbacks. While he played corner at Illinois, we project him more as a safety for the next level.
PROS:
Explosive flat-foot breaks. Tremendous burst. Forceful and reliable tackler - 7 misses on the last 129 attempts last two seasons.Fills like a mac truck in the run game. Wants to come downhill and play in the backfield.
CONS:
Pure man skills are work in progress. Overagressive and liability to bite on fakes. cons On the lighter side for an around the line of scrimmage player. Gets caught with his eyes in the backfield on run
Round 3: 97 Ricky Stromberg 6'3" 306 lbs Arkansas
Stats: 9 impact blocks, 11 qb hurries, 0 qb hits, 0 sacks allowed
PFF Grade: 82.4
Nasty. Another guard experience player that spent his last two years at the center position. Award winner of the Jacob's Blocking Trophy for the SEC'S most outstanding blocker award. This is a solid player that has started since he was freshman in the SEC. He's been battle tested since he was kid and has improved every year. He has some knocks about his play strength, but a NFL program should get em to where he needs to be.
PFF:
Stromberg was a three-star recruit in the 2019 class and started for the Razorbacks as a true freshman, mostly at right guard. He moved inside to center for his sophomore season and spent his final three college seasons there. Stromberg’s 82.4 overall grade and 83.7 run-blocking grade in 2022 both ranked fourth among all centers in college football, and his nine big-time blocks were tied for fifth among FBS centers. Not to mention, Stromberg had an incredible performance at the NFL combine.
PROS:
Does not want to let blocks go. Can see him straining his butt of to stay engaged on tape. Tons of experience against top competition. Four-year starter with 3,121 career snaps.
CONS:
Forward lean gets going on the move, making him liable to topple over. Has wide hands to initiate contact in pass protection before resetting. Leaves himself open for stronger rushers.Unimpressive musculature, which leaves questions about how he'll anchor against NFL strength.
Round 4: Braeden Daniels 6'4" 296 lbs Utah STATS:
0 sacks allowed, 1 qb hit allowed, 14 hurries allowed.
PFF GRADE: 72.2 at tackle, 2021 84.4 at guard.
Braeden Daniels is another tackle/guard hybrid, with starting experience across his college career. This guy is on the lighter side but that allows him to be an Explosive athlete. Very raw at the tackle position and will be a developmental guy. I'd like to give em a try as our swing tackle and see how he performs. He was one of the quickest offensive lineman I've seen off the tape and that athleticism will let him climb to the next level. Even on the lightweight side I'd hate to see this guy running at me on the second level.
PFF:
Daniels is an experienced veteran who commanded the Utes’ offensive line for the past few years. He originally started as a guard before switching over to tackle. His best season came in 2021, as he put up an 84.4 PFF grade. Given his time on the interior, Daniels is at his best when run blocking, and his run-blocking grade in 2021 was an elite 89.1. He still held his own as a pass protector, allowing only five sacks in his Utah career.
PROS
Explodes out of his stance. Arguably the quickest get off in the offensive line class. Linebackers don't want to see him climbing. Gets on them before they can even react. Drive in his lower half to still move the line of scrimmage despite being under 300 pounds.
CONS
Wild into contact. He approaches blocks with the adjustment ability of a freight train. consDoesn't bring his hands with him. Clean engagements are rare on tape. Very light by NFL standards (294 pounds at combine).
Round 5: 137 KJ Henry 6'4" 260 lbs Clemson
STATS:
51 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 FF, 6 pass deflections, 50 qb pressures, 31 qb hurries, 14 qb hits.
PFF GRADE: 83.1
Loved this pick. Henry was a 5 star recruit coming out of high-school and decided to attend Clemson University. With Clemson having deep lines it took him a couple of years to get on the field. The stats look odd when you only see 3.5 sacks, however, the 50 qb pressures is the key stat. Seems more like bad luck that the sack numbers weren't high. Clemson's whole d-line underperformed (Bresee, Murphey) and they should have picked up more sacks from Henry who was the best DE on that team last year. The team clearly liked him as we traded back up for him. He's not elite athlete, but he is an elite hands guy. Almost had that veteran presence in college. High motor and will immediately make an impact as a rotational de, a position that sorely needed an upgrade.
PFF:
On a team with Myles Murphy, you can easily make the case that KJ Henry was Clemson's best defensive end this year, as he posted better PFF grades than Murphy in every category and even generated 19 more pressures. The only problem is That Henry is 24 years old while Murphy is only 21. Therefore, Henry was expected to produce this well against younger competition. Nonetheless, this doesn’t mean that he can’t still improve. If Henry's play this season is any indication of his potential, he can still have a great NFL career as an edge defender.
PROS:
Heavy hands that are so well refined. Uses them independently to use combination moves.Utilizes hesitations and head fakes so well to catch linemen off-balance. Coaches rave about the type of teammate he is. He is the type of player you want in the locker room.
CONS:
First step that's unimposing for a rusher on the smaller side. Late bloomer. Wasn't even a starter until this past fall. One of the oldest prospects in the class. Already 24 years old.
Round 6: 193 Chris Rodriguez 6'0" 217 lbs Kentucky
STATS: 8 games played, 175 attempts, 904 rushing yards, 6 tds, 5.2 ypa, 5 catches, 41 rec yards.
PFF GRADE: 90.8
Chris Rodriguez is a PFF darling and was rated as the 7th best running back. This guy's is a pure one cut, run you over, power back. There's not much finesse to his game, but there's highlights of dragging guys 10-yards down the field. He does not posses break away speed, but he will get you 40 yards. He was suspended 4 games due to a dui and he may have been drafted higher on am abysmal Kentucky team. An extra 4 games of stats against SEC competition and no suspension may have jumped him into the 4th round. This was an Eric Bienemy guy and they brought him in because of that. Isiah Pacheco was another EB guy.
PFF:
Rodriguez is a powerful runner, but he lacks the burst and creativity to become anything more than a downhill grinder. He has the size and mentality to do the dirty work between the tackles, but it could be a challenge for him to get to and through the hole quickly in the NFL. He’s a physical blitz protector, so teams might envision a role for him as a second-half battering ram and third-down quarterback protector.
PROS:
Two-time team captain. Thick frame with ability to pick up tough yards. Makes tacklers feel his size at impact. Stays square getting through downhill cuts. Low success rate guaranteed for arm-tacklers. Stays on his feet through heavy angle strikes. Allows lead blockers to do their work. Steps up with force against incoming rushers.
CONS:
Below-average burst getting through line of scrimmage. Lacks finesse to navigate tight run lanes. Change of direction is heavy. One-speed running style is easy to track for linebackers. Pad level is a little tall as run-finisher. Inconsistent finding assignment versus blitz.
Round 7: 233 Andre Jones 6'4" 248 lbs Louisiana
STATS: 7 sacks, 5 qb hits, 20 hurries.
PFF GRADE: 77.2
Andre Jones was another hybrid de/lb player coming out last year. He possess 34 1/4" arms which is an elite number for his size. May move to LB, but I'm not sure that's the right move with a 4.71 40-yard dash. He doesn't have much a pass rush move set playing a hybrid role, but does use length to his advantage. A solid developmental pick.
PROS:
Shows a natural feel for setting up blockers and getting them off-balance. His hands are active and violent, and Jones quickly disengages with blockers and counters when his initial move stalls. Possesses accurate snap anticipation and timing to beat blockers off the edge. Offers some versatility, rushing from a two-and three-point stance with the playing speed to stand up in space.Flashes strength as a bull rusher and his energy doesn't plateau. Showed initial quickness and good flexibility to dip and bend. Jones has active hands and suddenness to his movements, demonstrating the ability to counter inside. Has fluid footwork to redirect, reverse momentum and close with a burst. Regularly first off the ball with good snap anticipation. He’s a high-effort pass rusher with an impressive combination of length and speed.
CONS:
Jones has to develop a counter move or two in the pass rush, and Jones needs to make better use of his hands. He lacks the speed of a chase and- tackle guy. He lacks twitch as a pass rusher and lacks the feet and flexibility to threaten around the edge. Jones also shows some stiffness when trying to bend the edge, often getting pushed past the pocket — he seems more comfortable countering back inside.
Draft Summary:
This was my favorite Ron Rivera/Martin Mayhew draft thus far. Going into the draft, offensive line, cornerback, and quarterback were our three biggest needs. Drafting in the middle of the round really took us out of the olineman race. The last one that interested me was Broderick Jones and he went off the board when the Steelers traded up. At that point in the draft it really left us with going cornerback. The Forbes pick was received negatively due to Christian Gonzalez being available. Both players will be viewed under the microscope throughout their careers. I'm fine with Forbes pick though. Another lanky cornerback who was an elite athlete. I did have Gonzalez rated higher going into the draft, but he slid for a reason. A lot of his tape shows him not necessarily being an elite cornerback, but being an elite athlete that plays corner. Forbes actually showed the athleticism, corner skills, and ballhawking ability. Some additional knocks against Gonazalez and his love of the game. Quan Martin was our biggest surprise pick of the draft. A lot of people had him going in the 3rd round, but I think the 2nd was a fine spot. Mayhew after the draft said he wish we were more aggressive at times, which I translated as not getting Brian Branch that went several picks before us. I think Quan was the backup option, but I like him as much as Branch. I think Quan will be a better deep safety and Bramch will be a better nickel. Liked Quan alot, but felt we should have gone o-line at this pick. Ocyrus Torrence would've been a sweet pick here. I think if that happened, the consensus view on our draft would shoot up. Quan will immediately via for playing time as our base defense is essentially a 4-2-5. Kendall Fuller was our only above average corner and now we turned our secondary into a strength. Ricky Stromberg and Braeden Daniels were our next two picks. I like Stromberg’s tape a lot and think by next he will be a solid starter at guard or center. Braeden Daniels will be a nice depth piece and if he's able to tame his play he could develop into a starter. Fun player to watch. KJ Henry was an awesome pick and can see him being a nice rotational piece. Good pick at an underrated area of need on our defense. RB wasn't a pressing need, but it's an underrated area of weakness. I think Brian Robinson is about as average of rb as you will see starting in the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised if Rodriguez slowly cut into Robinson's role over the next two years. Antonio Gibson has had some solid season, but has a severe fumbling problem. Andre Jones will be a depth piece that will need development moving forward.
Offseason summary:
The biggest question of our offseason was our owner, which now appears resolved. Our second biggest question... was who was our starting qb? Sam Howell. Ron preached all offseason that he was going with Howell and I'll be damned, he did. Brissett was good qb to bring in, not someone that would necessarily turn the offseason into a battle, but can be a starter if called upon. Really a true backup qb. I'm all in on the Sam Howell train. I love it for a multitude of reasons. One, he balls out and we have our qb of the future, two he plays well enough we give him another season and maybe Ron is out and we get a high draft pick, three he bombs and we fire Ron Rivera and go for Caleb Williams next season. If anything, it gives us a direction for our future. I'm ready for Ron to go and think he's only as good as his coordinators. I'm concerned that EB AND Howell turn the offense around Ron gets resigned and EB takes a head coaching role... then the offense regressed. Additionally, I don't want Ron to get credit for drafting Howell. It was 5th round pick, you and every team passed on him for 4 rounds. If Howell is that good... it's not because Ron was a genius and drafted him. Very similar to Seattle taking Russel. I am excited about EB being here and think he's the real deal. I will give Ron credit for allowing him to run his own offense as he sees fit. OTA's have shown that EB is pushing his guys hard and is trying to see what he can do with the offense. We really do have elite playmaker and I'm most excited to see what he can do with Antonio Gibson. I can see his role being that of Jerrick McKinnon, with more athleticism. Sam Howell has shown a lot of progress since his rookie season. Had issues with his foot work, but has shown vast improvements. We only have 1 preseason game and 1 NFL game of tape on him. I liked what he showed. When watching tape you could see him going through his progression, man absolutely saved the day wish his escapability- was under pressure the whole game, threw two beautiful deep passes, and won the game. He did throw one bad pick, but was under pressure and playing hero ball. He had one week of practice with the starters, now he has a whole offseason. Our defense should be a top 5 unit next season and we only got better. Chase Young should be fully healthy and he's the X-factor for the number one overall defense. He comes out plays to his full potential then he could be a mid teens sack guy. If we have that sort of production and Sam Howell plays well than we can compete for the decision. Big if though. Our secondary really lacked a 2nd option, Benjamin St Juyce has shown some flashes but didn't seeze the role last year. Now on paper he's the number and that's very solid. We return two top 6 defensive tackles and Montez Swear is one of the most underrated players in the league. He's yet to have a high sack season, but is very much that Jadaveon Ckowney type of player in the run game. Big question mark season for Jaymin Davis. We knew he needed development, but it's been slower than previously thought. Down the stretch he showed flashes that he was coming into his own and now is his year. He's one of the best athletes at linebacker in the league and his ceiling is very very high. Overall I predict we will go 10-7 and challenge for a wild card spot. That record can fluctuate each one, but I'm calling the improvement now. We went 8-8-1 with bottom 3 qb play. The defense got better, we hired a better offensive coordinator, Howell will at the minimum be slightly better than Hienke last season, we didn't lose any major pieces and had a solid all around draft. I'm truly excited to watch how our future plays out.

2023.06.01 01:29 More-Head6459 Defending the Draft: 2023 WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

2023.06.01 00:22 ButWhichPandaAreYou Raising Difficulty with Self-Imposed Rules

So I thought I'd share some ideas I have for some self-imposed ways to up the difficulty level a bit for those of you who like realism (and suffering).
For starters, we already have all the good difficulty settings in place - £50,000 start, hard fight difficulty, low recovery, high taxation, plateauing, etc. There's already a setting by which amateur recruitment is based on reputation, but I thought I'd start a new save that took this to the next level.
I'm based in England, and so I've set myself the rule that while my gym reputation is sufficiently low (say levels 0 - 3), the only fighters I can sign are amateur, and they must be English. I also have a rule that I have to sign one new amateur, each year, and I can only make offers on week 1 of each respective year. Are the only available English fighters crap ones? Too bad, I have to take one on. The only way I can dodge this responsibility is if there are no available fighters that fit the location rule, or if recruiting the one with the lowest financial demands would result in immediate bankruptcy.
When I get the gym level up to 4 - 7, I can start to sign amateurs from the wider UK and Ireland. Levels 8 - 12, I'm finally a big enough deal that European youngsters would be willing to travel to train with me. Levels 13 - 19, I get access to the Anglosphere for those talented Americans and Australians. Only when the gym is truly a huge deal - level 20+ - can I start to buy established professionals and amateurs from worldwide. And even then, still, one and only one per year, on week 1. There's nothing I can do when an Olympic gold medallist turns pro on week 2 of a year and then immediately signs for my biggest rivals.
As I said, I view this from an English perspective but you could easily do it for other countries - perhaps you might start in the US, add in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, and then as the levels increase, add in Mexico, Canada, then the rest of South America before finally going global at level 20 as before. Or you might start in Asia - say the Phillippines, then gradually include boxers from Hong Kong, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and mainland China, before expanding into Australasia and Eastern Europe.
Or, if you fancy a different self-imposed rule challenge, you could start a new gym with the same self-imposed rule of one-fighter-per-year-on-week-1, but rather than restricting yourself to countries, you could limit yourself to only signing new 18-year-olds who are up-and-coming prospects. This way, you'd have a gym full of steadily emerging talent, but enough competition from talented fighters who turn pro from 19 years old, because they can only ever sign for your rivals.
What self-imposed rules have you included in your own games?

2023.05.31 23:55 ItzEnzy Mario Kart DS retros but its actually likable

Mario Kart DS retros but its actually likable
SNES
I’ve replaced DP1 with DP3 and moved it to the leaf cup since the water counts as an out of bounds section (for example, frappe snowland at the bridge), which is harder for the player.
I didn’t want to overwhelm people with 2 koopa beaches in a row so i just moved down KB2 in the banana cup
CI2 becomes 1 since its the easiest course besides MC1 in SMK. (also put it in the shell cup since its an introductory retro course)
As a reference to MKWii’s lighting cup with MC3 being the first track for it, i’ve decided to put in MC4 instead since the tight turns and nearly hard to dodge pipes can be a challenge. It also keeps the music without having to completely remove SNES MC from the game in lieu of a different track.
N64
Koopa Troopa Beach makes more sense than Moo Moo Farm since its the signature for the SHELL cup. however MMF’s music wont go to waste.
No change to FS a pretty good course that has yet to be remade (besides tour touching and ruining its graphics)
No change to CM. another good course.
YV seems like a good course instead of BB since its not a straight line. Its a course with alternative paths! and MMF’s music stays!
GBA
I’ve moved Sky Garden to the Shell Cup since this course is the easiest course in the game if you minus the original circuits i moved. But without them, it looks easier than most GBA courses. it retains its original layout unlike the 8dx version/tour version (which i would still prefer DS over)
I hate the fact that DS (besides gba. no, choco island 1&2 aren’t desert tracks) the only game without a retro desert track. MKWii has Desert Hills, MK7 has Kalimari Desert and MK8, before cheese land and kalimari desert, has Dry Dry Desert.
So, instead of Luigi Circuit, i’ve replaced it with Yoshi Desert. Originally, I wanted Cheese Land and Sunset Wilds, But i wanted to stick with the desert feel, and tone as well as the desert like music of the track. But let me know which GBA desert track would you put instead of YD.
for BP, It has YET to be remade. thats why its in the leaf cup; the turns look tight with the broken gaps and the boos in the track can be troublesome. Its a highly underrated track that deserves its spot in tour someday.
BC2 can be the 2nd last track like in the special cup of MKDS. so it was moved from banana to lightning to keep it simple. it also keeps the tradition of GBA BC’s. 1 in mk7, 2 in DS, 3 in wii, 4 in tour or 8dx (maybe).
GCN
Mushroom Bridge is fun, deal with it (Moved to the shell cup since it’s the easiest GCN course if you minus the circuits).
DKM can be more chaotic than Baby Park. it also signs off the banana cup since well… you know… DK likes bananas… (it was like that pre mk8 dlc for dk jungle)
The ultimatum of coolness and wario. Not much to be said since this track is pretty sick (and is possible due to CTs). I like this course since it actually is challenging and fun.
GCN RR has yet to be remade in tour or MK8DX BCP so it get its spot in DS instead. its a good sign off for the lighting cup since both DS RR and GCN RR are really hard in their og counterparts. so why not port GCN RR instead of SNES, GBA or N64 instead??
Thanks for reading, sorry for any spelling mistakes, i typed all this on a phone and it was laggy. I don’t really like MKDS’s retro selection due to the influx of circuits and straight lines with 1 gimmick tracks so i made this as a lil concept. what tracks would you have in mind or do you like DS’s og retros?? what tracks would you replace or keep?? let me know in the replies below!! i’ll maybe even create a retro track selection for arcade gpdx or dd!! maybe.
