2023.05.30 13:27 JohnnyEnzyme Prompted by memories of the late Phil Hartman, u/belbivfreeordie brings up the idea of a "build-your-dream-SNL cast." How would one go about such a daunting task?
If (Phil) isn’t your #1 draft pick in a game of build-your-dream-SNL-cast, then you’re insane. [link]
u/cjones6464 He’s great, but I mean Chris Farley?
As someone who watched the show from the beginning (as a kid), then followed along for many years off-and-on, I can appreciate Farley being a strong choice, but man... there were SO many great comedians who came through that door. Truly, I feel like it would take a team of comedians, writers & fans to even
begin to figure out some kind of sensible 'dream team draft order.'
For example, consider how many similarities John Belushi had with Farley. To my mind, they were both thoroughly brilliant, innovative, and brought a wild energy that I'm not sure anyone else across the show's history came close to. (Belushi of course coming across more brooding & inscrutable, with Farley more ebullient & innocent)
Or take Belushi's best friend Dan Aykroyd. He was the talented glue guy of his day, able to pull off countless roles to make skits work. Yes, I think I /would/ say Phil Hartman had a little more range, but being forced to pick between the two would be damn tough, having watched both of them not just be the backbone of the show, but really crush it in that role.
And of course, there were so many other killer talents of different variety across the show's history, such as: Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Dana Carvey, Billy Crystal, Jane Curtin, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Norm Macdonald, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, and no doubt, several others who deserve to be mentioned.
Then of course, I'd put some of the frequent guests in that same category, such as Steve Martin, Andy Kaufman, Danny DeVito, etc.
Anyway, in terms of how to even
consider drafting such a roster? Maybe aside from pure talent, you'd have to:
- Account for differences between cultural eras and audiences of the day.
- Figure out what era the target audience would be. (the past? today? 10 years from now? 50 years?)
- Determine what a good mix of team players would be. (no Chevy Chase, please)
- What would the key roles be? How about: glue guy, energy person, pure innovator, intentionally awkward person, best impressionist, killer joke-teller, memorable line deliverer, best pure actor. Anything else?
- And of course, who best to fill those key roles, taking everything else in to account.
What else would be important criteria for such a draft?

2023.05.30 13:18 AutoModerator Here's How To Watch 'You Hurt My Feelings' (2023) Online Free Streaming ON Reddit
Julia Louis-Dreyfus Movies! Here are options for downloading or
watching You Hurt My Feelings streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch the anticipated Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Nicole Holofcener team up for a new comedy movie at home. Is You Hurt My Feelings 2023 available to stream? Is watching You Hurt My Feelings on HBO Max, Netflix, Disney Plus or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
A new comedy by A24 is coming our way this summer! You Hurt My Feelings was written, directed, and produced by Nicole Holofcener. The film is also produced by Anthony Bregman, Stefanie Azpiazu, and Julia Louis-Dreyfu.
Romantic comedies are always about finding your true love, but Nicole Holofcener has stood out in her career because her movies often focus on the struggles of maintaining or rediscovering love later in life. That once again looks to be the case in her new movie, You Hurt My Feelings, where she teams up with Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
While the movie is written and directed by Holofcener, it also has another big name in Hollywood right now behind it — studio A24. The producedistributor has long been known for its acclaimed entries that offer something different than the typical superhero/franchise fare of many other Hollywood studios. A24 has been on a particularly hot streak of late, with its 2022 movie Everything Everywhere All at Once winning Best Picture, as well as a slew of other movies earning awards and strong box office numbers. Will You Hurt My Feelings keep that momentum going?
Already intrigued? We know you are, and we also know you're wondering how you can watch and stream You Hurt My Feelings from the comfort of your own home. Luckily, we did some research and have an idea of when this will happen.
Fasten your seatbelt, because here's where you can watch and stream You Hurt My Feelings online.
You Hurt My Feelings release date
After premiering at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January, You Hurt My Feelings arrives in theaters for US audiences on May 26, which is the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.
The comedy is going to be an alternative to the usual summer blockbuster fare, including in its opening weekend, going up against The Little Mermaid and the broad comedy About My Father.
You Hurt My Feelings is also just one of many A24 movies set to come out in 2023, joining Beau Is Afraid, Past Lives and Talk to Me.
Where To Watch You Hurt My Feelings:
As of now, the only way to watch You Hurt My Feelings is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, May 26. You can find local shows on Fandango, IMAX, Regal, AMC Theatres, Cinemark, Cineplex, Landmark Theatres, Alamo Drafthouse and Harkins Theatres.
Watch Now: You Hurt My Feelings (2023) Online Free
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Paramount, Vudu, YouTube and Apple, or become available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Is You Hurt My Feelings streaming?
No, You Hurt My Feelings isn’t streaming right now. It is exclusively available in cinemas after its wide theatrical release on May 26, 2023.
Since A24 is set to share a digital release date, we can only speculate as to when it may be available to watch at home.
Looking at Aster’s previous movies, both of which were also backed by A24, Hereditary had a wide theatrical release on June 8, 2018, while it became available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video and other platforms on August 21, 2018.
Meanwhile, the director’s cut of Midsommar dropped in cinemas on August 30, 2019, before streaming on September 24, 2019.
Aside from Aster’s projects, A24’s Oscar-winning hits Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Whale had a wide theatrical release on April 8, 2022, and December 21, 2022, respectively.
The Michelle Yeoh-starring movie became available for streaming on June 7, 2022, while the Brendan Fraser-led drama didn’t come out until March 14, 2023.
If you put all of these together, this averages out to just under two months – but it’s likely set to follow Aster’s previous flicks, meaning the wait might not be quite so long. We’ll be sure to keep you posted when updates roll in.
Is You Hurt My Feelings Streaming on HBO Max?
No, You Hurt My Feelings will not be on HBO Max since it is not a Warner Bros. movie. Last year, the company dropped its movies on the streamer the same day they premiered in theaters. However, they have since stopped and like many others, started allowing a 45-day window between the theatrical debut and the streaming release.
Is You Hurt My Feelings on Netflix?
No, You Hurt My Feelings will not be on Netflix. However, it is possible that it will make it to the streaming giant eventually seeing as it’s home to other A24 movies like Uncut Gems. Until then, you’ll just have to head out to theaters or wait until it becomes available on digital.
Is You Hurt My Feelings Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie You Hurt My Feelings on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is You Hurt My Feelings on Amazon Prime?

When Will You Hurt My Feelings Be on DVD and Blu-ray?
As of now, there is no set date last to when You Hurt My Feelings will be available on Blu-ray and DVD, but we'll keep you updated once we know more about when the film will be available on physical media.

You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.
You Hurt My Feelings cast
Julia Louis-Dreyfus headlines You Hurt My Feelings as novelist Beth. This is a reunion for Louis-Dreyfus and Holofcener, as the two previously worked together on the 2013 movie Enough Said. Of course, Louis-Dreyfus is best known for her TV roles as Elaine on Seinfeld and Selina Meyer on Veep, but she has also starred in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Downhill, You People and has a recurring role in the MCU as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Playing Beth's husband Don is Tobias Menzies. Many viewers will likely know Menzies from either his role as Prince Philip for two seasons on The Crown or in Outlander, though he has also appeared in big-name shows like Game of Thrones, Rome and The Terror.
Other members of the You Hurt My Feelings cast include Michaela Watkins (Enlightened) as Beth's sister Sarah, Owen Teague (Mrs. Fletcher) as Beth's son Elliot, Arian Moyaed (Succession) as Sarah's husband Mark and Jeannie Berlin (Succession) as Beth's mother Georgia. Also appearing in the movie are David Cross, Amber Tamblyn, Zach Cherry, LaTanya Richardson Jackson and Sarah Steele.
What Is You Hurt My Feelings About?
Nicole Holofcener has distinguished herself in her career by centering many of her works that deal with the challenges of sustaining or rediscovering love in later life. This appears to be the same situation for You Hurt My Feelings which tells the story of a woman and her husband, focusing on their relationship over the years. The couple’s apparent happy life takes a hit when their little white lies are revealed to each other.

2023.05.30 13:13 Afc2022_ Is my height due to genetics or lifestyle?
Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to read/answer my question. I would really appreciate your insights/views on this!
As a caveat:
- I’m asking this question out of pure curiosity.
- I know it’s best to ask a medical doctor about this, but Reddit can still provide lots of informative answers!
- I know there is no definite way of telling the answer, but again I’m curious to see what everyone thinks.
My question is:
- Is my height primarily due to genetics or my lifestyle habits as a teen?
- And, I heard on a Andrew Huberman podcast that men continue to grow until around age 25, do you think I could still grow?
For context:
During the ages of 14-15, I decided that I wanted to lose a bit of weight and get leaner. I started running for over 90 minutes a day and restricted my food intake (never counted calories, but ate what I thought was “healthy”). I got pretty skinny after this (44-47kg at 5’3), but still was not very “lean”, just under-muscled.
Generally, my food intake was: a bowl of oats with fruit (breakfast), a turkey sandwich or salad (lunch), and chicken/fish and rice (dinner) - and sometimes a “cheat meal” of burgers/fries and dessert on the weekends. Given how much I exercised/played sports, I don’t think this was enough for my age/output - but I never counted cals, so maybe I’m wrong. I also read that calorie deficits could decrease IGF-1 (growth hormone). Anyway, this lasted for just under a year before I started to bulk up and hit the weights. Prior to this, I ate what I wanted (lots of junk food lol).
Then at age 16-17, I grew to 5’5; and at 19-21, reached around 5’7. My parents are 4’11 (mum) and 5’8 (dad), so again my genetics could have just capped me at 5’7. However, I’m still shorter than most males in my family and only started to grow a tiny bit of facial hair at 21 - my arms/hands also grew a tad recently lol.
Thanks so much for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

2023.05.30 12:54 dudarino75 Will always be a Dallas Stars fan!
So we didn't make it to the Cup. It isn't easy and is never a given. We did better then 14 other teams in our conference, which says a lot. It may not be said by commentators or sports news, but we do have one of the best teams in the NHL. We will never be given the respect we deserve. I mean they made it sound like it was a mishap that we made it to the Stanly Cup in 2020. We have a GREAT team and am glad to see we made it to the WCF. What I learned this year of our team:
Hintz-This is our star player, sorry Robertson. He showed it during the playoffs. He is our highlight reel guy.
Robertson-Showed us he is our 40+ goals guy a year that ensures we win games. Hoping he learned from this years playoffs and will be ready in future playoff rounds.
Pavelski-Best mentor any team would love to have. Because of him we will have some great young players. Hope when the time comes he stays to coach in some capacity.
Benn-Say what you want, but his teammates love him and that is what you need from a captain. Also, one hell of a year. Glad to see DeBoer put him on the first PP line.
Seguin-Played a different kind of game then we are all use to, but he had a good year learning and not in the same role as before, which can not be easy for any one with the caliber of a guy that he is.
Marchment-Started out the season like an All Star. Hoping he can restart that next year. Though he is in my opinion our most physical forward in the top three lines, which we need.
Faksa-Prior to this season I was not a big fan of his, but the man can kill some penalties and stop the opposing teams top line from running circles on us.
Johnston-Only thing that can be said about this kid is he got robbed of being a Calder nominee. This is one of the great things as we start losing our older players that will continue to keep us in playoff hockey.
Dellandra-I have to remind myself he is only 22 and still has time. I believe he will continue to make a good third or fourth line player.-RFA-We will resign.
Dadanov-What a great pick up. This guy brought it and kept his line moving with him. UFA-Not sure about this one, but do think he could be kept for a fair price.
Domi-I like this guys tenacity and grit and is a great pickup by any team. UFA-Not sure if he is worth the money we will have to spend to keep him, knowing we have some good young players getting ready to move up.
Glendenning-Another great fourth liner and was our replacement for losing Cogliano. UFA-Coin toss on this due to age and also knowing we have guys ready to move up.
Kiviranta-With out a doubt our best player game in and game out of the playoffs. He did not have a bad game.-UFA- this one scares me and I hope we keep him.
Otter-Going to be a goalie every team would love to have, but did show us he does have some cracks. I think with Bishop helping next year and maybe a little more rest prior to the playoffs next year he can hold us through the playoffs. Still one of the best and will continue to grow.
Wedgewood-What you need in a backup goalie, did great all season and when called upon in the playoffs.
Heiskanan-This guy deserves so much more respect then he gets. May not get 100 pts in a season, but as an offensive defenseman he plays the BEST defense then any of the big names.
Lindell-Had a quieter year without being paired with Klingberg, but kept playing solid D. Our number 2 D man.
Suter-Ugh, another 2 years. Buy out his contract?
Miller-Man has a cannon of a shot, just needs to remember to not get burnt going the other way.
Hakanpaa-Our Big Rig replacement. Was nice hearing Messier really hype him up, because he deserved it. Played great for us all season and definitely the big hitter we need.
Lundkvist-Young guy and I think had a great year for us and will continue to improve.
Harley-Was nice seeing him come up for the playoffs and show like he did. Hoping to see much more of him next year. If so though who sits?
Hanley-UFA-Resign this guy. He is always solid on defense as a back up.

2023.05.30 12:53 NitroJ7 Fantasy Bingo Has Helped Me Read More, And I'm Loving It!
| I can’t believe I read this many books in just 2 months! Seriously, I’m a slow reader who manages to read about 20-25 books a year. But since I saw the Fantasy Bingo post, I thought I’d challenge myself and am already done with 9 squares! Fantasy Bingo 2023 Some thoughts about each book that I’ve read [in the order in which I read them]: Coastal Setting: Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson [5/5] This was the nicest book I read all year. Seriously, it left me feeling NICE. A sweet adventure tale with Sanderson’s trademark worldbuilding and magic made this a wonderful experience start to finish. I’ve read that many consider this book one of Sanderson’s best, and I can’t help but agree. Side Note: I was about 35% done with this when I saw the Fantasy Bingo Announcement post. While this book fits the requirements for this square, I’m not 100% confident. If I finish the bingo card ahead of time, I might switch this out with another book. Book Club or Readalong Book: Orconomics by J. Zachary Pike [5/5] I added this to my TBR years ago, and then again when I saw the Book Club post. Finally, when I saw this was a square on the card, I just had to read it. Honestly, I hate that I didn’t pick this up sooner. I loved everything about it. The humour was very reminiscent of Pratchett, and the characters felt very real. I loved how it wasn’t just a mindless parody, but a well-written, thought-out story sprinkled with ample humour, drama, thrill and adventure, almost like a complete package. Self-Published or Indie Publisher: Spire Climbers [5/5] Received an eARC around the time I was finishing Orconomics. I really enjoyed Titan Hoppers, so I dived into this one. Holy fricking hell, this book was such a major improvement. It takes everything good from Titan Hoppers and cranks it to 11. It has none of the problems from TH. Even the character work in this one was significantly better than TH. With breakneck speed and awesome worldbuilding, I think this was the fastest I read a book all year. Set in the Middle East: Gunmetal Gods by Zamil Akhtar [5/5] Zamil Akhtar has a unique voice that just elevates the whole experience. I don’t even want to compare Akhtar to any other author, because that’s how good he is! The blend of Middle Eastern culture with cosmic horror told from opposing POVs is such a brilliant concept, executed to near perfection by Akhtar’s unique voice and storytelling. Features Robots: Robots and Empire by Isaac Asimov [4/5] I started reading the Robots series a year or two ago. This was the last in the series. I always find it hard to review authors from the past. Although this book was first published in 1985, it reads like something from the 50s, which is when I, Robot was first published. From what I’ve learned, Asimov’s books are less about the story and characters, and more about concepts and speculation. In that regard, Robots and Empire is the perfect ending to the Robots series. It envisions a far future where humans, including Earthers, have begun colonising the galaxy and studies that phenomenon from several different perspectives. Every chapter made me think, and that’s what I really loved about the book. Yes, there were dull moments, but all in all a very good read. Bottom of the TBR: The Martian by Andy Weir [5/5] I really liked the movie, and this book had been on my TBR for 8 years. Now, I can finally say, the book is better than the movie by leagues! Of course, the film did its best with the medium, but reading this book was a spectacular experience. Weir’s sharp wit, the science behind Watney’s survival, everything plays out so smoothly. I did feel some parts to be a drag, but I kinda knew what to expect so I just powered through. What I loved most about the book was Mark Watney; he’s such a real character, I wish I had known him as just that and not Matt Damon’s realisation of the same. Druid: Hounded by Kevin Hearne [1/5] Hated it. Hated everything about it. What a terrible book. A passive protagonist who’s a 2100-year-old immature douche who just sits in his shop and does nothing... why? Gods attack him, threats are raised, and then everything resolves itself because of other characterss. Argh! This was such a frustrating read. Everything that I loved about the other eight bingo books was missing here. I can’t believe this book is so highly rated. Apparently, the series gets better, then goes downhill. I don’t care enough to find out. Five Short Stories: Sharp Ends by Joe Abercrombie [3.5/5] As a First Law fan, I loved it. As a regular fantasy reader, I liked. Of course, the collection had its share of hits and misses. Some stories were really good, a perfect snippet of TFL. But others read like rejected chapters/plots, which was really disappointing. I loved Shev’s entire story arc which spans over 5 short stories, but I found the end a little underwhelming. Why did Javre’s encounter with Khalul’s agents have to happen off-screen? I’m somewhat of a completionist, and knowing this collection existed has stopped me from picking up A Little Hatred. Finally, I can get to that book now! Novella: This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone [5/5] Finished this one at breakfast. Holy cow, how do I describe this book? It reminded me of Hearts of Darkness, except this wasn’t a fever dream, it was a highly imaginative trance-like state. This book is so flowery and complex, yet tells a very simple story. It’s not for everyone, definitely. But I really loved how the book made me feel. The puzzling world-building only made the book more mystical, leaving a lot to my imagination. Even though I found myself confused a few times, I kept reading because I was really invested in the two characters. I would highly recommend this book but with some caution. --------------------------------------------------------- I don't know if it's the challenge aspect of it or that I just got lucky with picking up really good books, I'm loving the progress I've made as a fantasy reader in these past 2 months. Some books I'm looking forward to reading for the bingo card: - Lords & Ladies by Terry Pratchett [Title with a Title]
- The Captain by Will Wight [Published in 2023]
- Starter Villain by John Scalzi [Superheroes]
- Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi [Magic Realism or LitFantasy]
- Path of Daggers by Robert Jordan [Sequel]
I’m going to end this long post by just thanking this community. Y’all have introduced me to some of the best books I’ve ever read, and Fantasy is one of my favourite places to lurk on the internet. submitted by NitroJ7 to Fantasy [link] [comments] |
2023.05.30 12:51 Smodder Nparent found out where I live after 5 years going NC..
Gawd she keeps stalking me. But hasn't changed a bit.
She somehow found my adres because the last 2 years she keeps sending me letters on my birthday... sorry I mean HER birthday since that is what the card says.. my birthday is actually her birthday and she demands I congratulate her because she birthed me that day and it is actually HER day... sigh..(in the meantime I do not celebrate my birthday and do not give an rats fluffy behind because she started with that when young so it never was a fun day...)
But my phone broke recently. And apparently numbers get unblocked then. So she also started messaging me..
And it is so... baffeling. And sad. I have 1 friend that understands... but a lot of people seem to... think I make this up. Say stuff like "no, moms would never do that!!!!" etc. I hope I can vent here.
Man I feel so... sad. I told her again that I would like a mothedaughter bond. I kinda really miss a parent. And I kinda keep being clear in the hope it changes. But everything what comes out of her mouth is so... idiotic. It baffled me completely.
I told her; I would like a mothedaughter bond. Talking about stuff. We really look alike; and idk how is/was your life as a woman or something? What can I expect when aging? A real connection with you. Being a mom and daughter.
her answer:
"No you are demanding too much from me, I can't do that".
Me: ?? You can't be a mom? That kinda hurts.
" I don't care about your opinion"
Me: that also is kinda unkind and hurts...
"yeah well, I have an awesome life. I have amazing friends and a lot of hobby's and have 5 times sex a day"
Me: Uh.. wel ok. Congrats. I wish for everyone to have a fun/healthy sexlife who wants it.. but that was not really the question and topic. I askes you for a bond together.
"No I can't, I'm scared of you"
Me in my head tableflipping... due to being raised by her I have major issues with not being a doormath...gawd I am scared of literally EVERYTHING (anxiety disorder) and my hobby's are birdwatching for Pete's sake and all kinds of silent hobby's so noone notices me because I'm too used as child that you randomly could be smacked by her by just breahting.. I can 100% say of myself that it is incredibly hard to be scared of me.. uurgh!!! I did not reply anymore and vented to a friend.
3 hours later she sends a new message..
"Hey, what do you think about the fact I can't love you"
(I need more tables...to flip..)
My baffled dumbass: That really hurts me. And if that is really the case that you can't love people maybe you should do something with that. I think it is quite normal and healthy that people can feel love. It can be a sign that something is not okay if you can't feel love.
Her: No! Everyone has a little bit of autism and I have a great life and am not senile, just completed a marathon and have the best partner ever and still a lot of men want me!!
GAAAAAWD. I did not say that... geez. I always have the feeling with her that she sees me as competition. Which she does because omg how mad did she get when I was a child and got some compliment from someone on a drawing I made.. you know how normal people tell children all the time that their rake-hand-stick figures is the best art ever..she could not handle that. Became jealous. On a child...And it always turns back to that. The amount as child I had to hear from her that she never wanted a daughter because women are stupid and suck not unlike boys..absoltely confused me so hard that I thought I was trans. Because maybe if I was a boy she would love me. And everything with her is so... an flex. Always talking about sex/how young she looks/how cool her life is... it really feels if she actually is jealous of me.. But I don't understand why... how can you be jealous of a child..oh my how mad and vile she became when young when I cuddled my dad.. as if I wanted to steal him away from her.. I'm a fricking 4yo child cuddeling her dad and she gets livid... not because she wants me to cuddle her.. no litterally that she thinks that my dad and I are going to get married or something... I will steal him away from her.. sigh.
Bleh. I so do not understand her. Is she born like that/did something happen in her life? How can you be jealous of a child and see it as competition? Your own child even.. Urgh I don't even have a name. She so not wanted a daughter.. stubbornly. That she made a list of names for boys and none for girls. I came out with a vagina.. which she already knew because doctors have told her that and she kept just saying "no, it's a boy"...My name is now the name of the female child from the woman next to her that delivered a baby..because she had to choose a name fast...and she didn't have any so she just copied that... The only good thing that came out of it that I got so mad/frustrated I typed out certain feelings that I should do more often. I'm asexual. Tried to tell her that loads of times but she never listens. That makes it more dumb and annoying her non-stop weird flexing about how much sex she has.. because I don't have that. Those feelings. her answer " oh...". As in.. she got stuck. Because apparently she indeed thought my whole life that she could "get at me" by having more sex or something.. and me being asexual was not something she thought about and now her weird plan got stuck. Now she does not know anymore how to flex me or something..
I tried so much my whole life. That specific anti-women and sex-focus.. I have thought about if she maybe has something traumatic happened and such and asked a lot. It's not uncommon if you are abused as an child an trauma can manifest like that. Internalised mysogyny or expresive sexual behaviour etc. But no... that is just me making excuses for her. Hoping that it has a reason/explanation so I can put it in a box better and understand her better and I offcourse really want a parent and keep hoping.. but their ain't no reason... this is just how she is. And I'm so tired and done for 37 years begging if she wants to be my mom... and I think this was the final straw and I can close it. It is just never going to happen. But it is scary.. being an orphan with alive parents.. I feel like I finally hit the rock bottom that I can say bye to her forever. And it feels like an relief. A heavy load from my back. But I rather would have had an parent. I hate it how her behaviour fucked up my life so hard.. that I know at age 37 have to learn how to adult. Am now 18/21... I still have to do a study/get a drivers licence/get a job/house/partner and children maybe/etc. everything. Because these people.. they kinda keep you on a leash with loads of gaslighting. Barge now and then back in your life to quickly tell you how much you suck and then go on with their day... not noticing that what they say makes an impact.. for 37 years I'm stuck and crying and my whole life revolves around getting "appreciated" by mom... even when she is not even here.. went NC 5 years ago.. but that is what they do. Keeping you small.
And I hate it all...because I KNOW she is one of those parents that is going to do the switcheroo. Because she already did a hundred times. She keeps telling people "how hard it is for her being a mom of an autistic child". I found that out because we worked in the same compagny.. that she tells my colleagues that... but I do not have autism. I would not be ashamed if I did. Normal human form of having a brain. And the picture that she send me through not accidentally being unblocked anymore.. omg. She did a.. what is the English name. When you walk or bicycle to santiago de compostella or mecca and such. With my face on it... most people that do that over here.. have a shirt with their child's face because it died from cancer and do that walk to raise money for a cancer research foundation so future other children can be helped better.. then this idiot is walking with them with a much alive child... but acting and stealing the show that her life is way harder and exactly the same as these normal kind parents with an dead child.. I feel so incredibly embarresed. I just know she is like that weird mom that is kinda known in the Ncommunity...but I forgot her name.. that she makes blogs about how hard and tough a life as a mother is when your children go no contact... and revert it in that way. That is super hurtfull and the biggest boohoo unfairness ever if a child suddenly out of nowhere goes no contact.. but we all know that she asked for it. The amount of ilnesses I have behind my back, and in hindsight explains why people suddenly act differently towards me, and is especially hard for her.. as mom of... I'm already curious what it will be now... I'm putting my money on being lesbian and somehow that is the reason that I do not have contact with her... since I told her that I'm asexual. But you never know.. it can be anything from the DSMV as long as she can get attention from it..
Thank for being allowed to rant. I understand why people say "no you are lieing/making this up no parent/mom would do that!!" Because yeah. Same. I also feel like I am living in a movie. This stuff you see on tv but never really think it happeneds in your life. It's weird to begin to realise that... you are that person on tv.. When all the times you have been laying on the couch munching popcorn watching "mommy dearest" and thinking.. good movie. That was fun. Good watch. And then when it hits en sets in.. wait....this movie is about me =/ f*ck...
Edit: weird paragraphs because I had to re-do this for using a word that is in my language not a slur lol. A certain word for certain women who like women we reclaim. And you can be proud of. Nothing so cool as a woman going her own way. Wait is butch allowed? I'm not always sure which words in US are allowed or not.. anyway it was the same word but then apparently is that seen as offensive; not my intention to offend. I fricking love these women liking women and don't giving a rats arse about society. Where can I sign up? In my language... where the word comes from lol.. it's an possitive haha! oh gawd automod.. it is even actually my last name lol. Number 1 most common last name over here lol. (hence I can say that.. because it's so common I'm not actually sharing my private info..since good luck finding me in the ocean of people with the same last name lol). (ocean pun accidentally but fitting).

2023.05.30 12:21 abujarock Fruits and Types of Foods That Gives You Energy
| Fruits and Types of Foods That Gives You Energy There are various factors that influence one's mood. Our lifestyle, what we eat, and how often we workout affects our mood significantly. Although external factors can alter one's mood temporarily, these factors have a longer impact on our mental health. Fruits are a very healthy food group. Fruits are packed with numerous nutrients that aid the proper functioning of our bodies. Many fruits have been linked directly to improving our mood. While some foods might reduce stress, others promote the production of happy hormones. Steady energy feels great. To optimize your daily energy level, try adding some of these foods into your meal plan. Oatmeal. The complex carbs in oatmeal mean it’s a slow-burning source of energy. Oats also boost serotonin production which can help us manage stress and enhance learning and memory function. Caveat: sugar-packed packets of flavored instant oats are worth avoiding. Make your own instead and load them up with berries, bananas and a drizzle of maple or honey for a healthy treat of a breakfast. - Bananas.
One of the best foods for energy, whether frozen and blended into a smoothie, sliced onto oatmeal or eaten on the go. They’re full of complex carbohydrates, vitamin B6, potassium and even a little protein. - Yogurt.
The carbs in yogurt are mainly in the form of simple sugars, such as lactose and galactose. When broken down, these sugars can provide ready-to-use energy. Greek yogurt is an especially good choice. Top with fresh berries and a drizzle of local honey or maple syrup. READ MORE submitted by abujarock to u/abujarock [link] [comments] |
2023.05.30 12:07 Yeah-Yeah-Yeah-Yea Binnenkort belangrijk sollicitatiegesprek, wie heeft er goede tips?
Hoi allen!
Ik wil me daarom zo goed mogelijk profileren!
Wie heeft goede tips? Zijn er misschien mensen die sollicitatiegesprekken afnemen (of recruiters) die me misschien in de goede richting kunnen sturen?

By creating a vertically-integrated ecosystem, Onomy combines the best of centralized exchanges with the decentralized ethos of Web3. The Onomy Network: Fast and Secure Proof-of-Stake Blockchain The Onomy Network (ONET) serves as the foundation for Onomy's ecosystem. Constructed using the Cosmos SDK framework, this Proof-of-Stake blockchain ensures scalability and efficiency by leveraging institutional validators like Chorus One. With its fast block time, high throughput, low latency, and low fees, the Onomy Network is designed to facilitate seamless financial transactions. Onomy Exchange (ONEX): A Unique Hybrid Decentralized Exchange The Onomy Exchange (ONEX) stands out as a hybrid, multi-chain decentralized exchange (DEX). It supports various order types, including limit, market, conditional, and stop-loss orders. Traders can enjoy cross-chain trading, advanced charting, and more, while liquidity providers can participate and earn rewards through the automated market-making (AMM) mechanism. ONEX aims to deliver a high-volume trading experience similar to traditional centralized exchanges, but with the added benefits of decentralization and non-custodial trading. https://preview.redd.it/2d993e5yhz2b1.jpg?width=453&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd627aa54eb1ec93d18eb7b5b7ca18ad6eb47df5 Arc Bridge Hub: Seamless Cross-Chain Transfer The Onomy Arc Bridge Hub plays a crucial role in enabling cross-chain transfers. 2023.05.30 12:04 uruboo Barcelona Grand Prix - spend the night in the car
I am going to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by car. My vehicle is equipped for overnight stays, and I will be spending the necessary nights in it. I plan to arrive on Saturday morning and depart on Monday morning. I am looking for a strategic parking location that is easily accessible either by walking to the circuit or by using public transportation. Safety is also a priority for me during the night. Initially, I considered Montmelo, but now I believe Granollers might be a better option.
If anyone has experience spending the night in a car or van near the circuit, I would appreciate your advice. Can you suggest a suitable parking area and the best way to reach the circuit? I would also like to know about the available transportation options and where I can find the schedules.
Last question: can I take my camping chairs to the circuit?

2023.05.30 12:02 HRHPrettyInPink Emotionally exhausted & angry.
Up extra early today bcz the hubs wants brioche. I did all of the baking for the week on Sunday as usual, but brioche is one of those things best made and eaten the same day. So i'm doing a braided Nutella brioche loaf for him to have w/his breakfast & then also likely w/his coffee throughout the day. D.C is causing trouble in Kosovo which they & NATO have been occupying. So Serbs are pushing back and peace there is once again threatened by D.C/NATO. Ukraine is also increasingly attacking inside Russia and Moscow w/drones. This come on the heels of a bunch of Russian neo Nazis armed by D.C & their Ukrainian proxies attacked Russian villages along the border. My inlaws are extra stressed and so I am too. I'm tired of watching the safety & lives of ppl I love endangered bcz of the sociopaths in D.C. Many of my inlaws are still in Belgrade, Some were considering going to Turkey until things there took a turn for the worst in terms of how refugees there are treated. Immigrating to other parts of Europe is hard bcz that requires the help of lawyers, lawyers require payment, and paying them is complicated by the financial war on Russia/Russian citizens.
Whenever I get particularly enraged by D.C's behavior, several ppl tell me that in this world if a nation isn't dominating, that means it's being dominated. So as awful as the shit is that D.C does, it beats the alternative, which is us being the ones on the receiving end of the horrible shit that more dominant nations put out. Is it really like that tho? I mean, I suppose there's merit to that statement. But all of this shit is just so needless & unnecessary. I don't know how this shit w/occupied Serbia (Kosovo) will end. But if there's another war, my inlaws won't be safe. D.C's decision to enter Serbia to stop genocide against Albanians was a good thing. But annexing Serbian territory, calling it Kosovo & using it as a permanent NATO foothold spot is not ok and Serbs are right to fight it. The Serbian president hasn't been adequately anti-Russian. So Kosovo is being used by D.C as a weapon against Serbia as Ukraine is being weaponized against Russia. There's no end in sight to this BS and the Biden regime won't stop throwing gasoline on the fire. D.C is gonna keep pushing Russia and China until bombs end up falling on our cities. With all the warmongering D.C has done, it's amazing that we haven't been bombed yet. But now they're fucking w/countries capable of hitting us directly on our soil. It's so infuriating to watch them intentionally endanger us like this.

2023.05.30 11:41 KingKaihaku What JRPG soundtracks do you think are the most underrated, forgotten, and/or overlooked?
| I love listening to JRPG music in the background while working, while running tabletop RPGs, during a commute, or just whenever. Of course my playlist includes well known series like Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Mana, Chrono, Xeno-Blade/Saga/Gears, and so on. For each of these well regarded series they are dozens of lesser known JRPGs and some of them actually have fantastic soundtracks. Sometimes mediocre games have great soundtracks, Chaos Legion (while not a JRPG) being my favorite example. Sometimes a series falters and dies, leaving an epic soundtrack largely overlooked by future generations of games. Sometimes a game releases on hardware that simply isn't popular and thus is forgotten except by the few who had access. https://preview.redd.it/0y6i7xkd5z2b1.jpg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa0065ad67a6d9653e20930365a27fabe0c22159 Please allow me to share three JRPGs that have soundtracks that I consider underrated, forgotten, or overlooked. Phantasy Star IV A long, long time - in the early days of the genre - Phantasy Star was the third great JRPG series alongside Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. It was known for it's unique setting, deep storytelling, incredible graphics (at the time), and - of course - it's soundtracks. Phantasy Star IV is the culmination of the series - one of the best JRPGs of an era known for great JRPGs - and it's soundtrack is appropriately legendary. From sad to goofy to sinister to epic, this soundtrack delivers it all. The composer, IPPO, went so hard for this game, there are dedicated solo tracks all over this game. For example, there's not just a generic sad theme, each of the most meaningful scenes have their own tracks. I'm not going to talk about all 48 tracks but here are some highlights. - Her Last Breath - This is right up there with Tales of Phantasia's Sad Theme, Dragon Quest 7's Days of Sadness, and Final Fantasy 7's Aerith's Theme as the greatest JRPG sorrowful tracks ever made.
- Pain - Wait... There's another sad theme? Yes, there's another sad theme (and there's even another one aside from this). But this one is filled with tension and anxiety, a premonition of sorrow...a sense of actively losing rather than of having lost.
- Requiem for Lutz - One of the greatest wizard themes ever composed. Slow, sad, yet energized. Like a never-ending waltz, which is quite true to the character.
- Laughter - This one of my favorite boss fight themes. Not just in this game or in the genre, but period. It was great to hear Ooze in PSO2 but they should have gone for Laughter.
- King of Terrors - When you look into the abyss, this is the soundtrack that's playing.
- Jijy no Rag - I'd be remiss if I excluded the game's light hearted tracks. There's also Tonoe de Pon but that gives me a headache.
Phantasy Star IV inspired me to post this. Well, actually it was Gaming Broductions' 8 Great JRPGs That Have Aged Really Well Part 2 in which he made the weird flex of saying, "Though I wouldn’t say that the music is quite as good as the best soundtracks from that generation, it’s still pretty solid overall." Phantasy Star isn't a broadly known series anymore, long eclipsed by it's spin-off Phantasy Star Online, but I contend that IV has one of the best OSTs on the Genesis, one of the best JRPG OSTs of the 16-bit era, and - arguably - still one of the best JRPG OSTs decades later. Hopefully you agree. https://i.redd.it/uaa2dr5l2x2b1.gif Lufia and the Fortress of Doom Long before Rune Factory, Neverland established itself as a JRPG studio with the Lufia series. The second game, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, is generally better regarded than the first (though it's still underrated) but here I want to highlight the first game's soundtrack because it's even underrated within it's own series! So, to be frank, it's true that many of the game's tracks are generic...but those that stand out really stand out! I love how how the composer, who went on to work on Tales Of, weaves rock and classical together. Even more impressive, the composers were working with one of the worst sound fonts on the SNES and they still managed to deliver a few greats. https://preview.redd.it/cvg57m0yix2b1.jpg?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c80f28040b1ba743dac8ce6d66a6b1f2a8d2acbd Stella Glow Now for something more recent than the 16 bit era... The final game before Imageepoch declared bankruptcy in 2015, Stella Glow on the 3DS. Talk about Stella Glow's soundtrack is usually focused on the JPOP sections which were fine but not really what I look for from a JRPG soundtrack. However, Stella Glow has dark plot elements lurking in the background that gave me a Xenosaga and Shin Megami Tensei vibe. Yes, your potential waifus are singing JPOP songs to cast spells...but, actually, there's a lot more going on here than it first appears. The soundtrack is no exception to this. Look pass the JPOP and you'll find some great JRPG music; especially the eerie choral music. - Eclipse - The first time I thought, "Did Yuki Kajiura compose this?" If you know who that is, you'll know that it's high praise.
- Eve Boss Battle -The dissonance in this track is so subtly unnerving... Even more so in context.
- Celestial Hymn - This is another track that's just so subtly unnerving... Even more so in context.
- Xeno's Battle Theme - And this one's just a fun battle theme.
- Spirit World - Appropriately whimsical, threatening, and chaotic for being from the portions of the game where you go full Pyschonauts.
Earlier I mentioned wondering if Yuki Kajiura was the composer... But actually it's another legendary composer, Yasunori Mitsuda from Chrono and Xenogears! Imagine meeting an old friend in a place like this. https://preview.redd.it/2slaza1pbz2b1.jpg?width=290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fa344cbcb4c97e98d06adf3747829b07286db1a So those are a few picks from me, what about you? I could go on...but I'd love to hear from you. Tell me your favorite underrated JRPG music so I can add it to my playlist (if I don't have it already). submitted by KingKaihaku to JRPG [link] [comments] |

2023.05.30 11:13 valakiavilagon High-end gaming build
Hi!I'm building a pc for gaming and work. It is supposed to run the latest games on a 3440 × 1440 144Hz display, like Jedi: Survivor, the new AC, etc. I would also use it to run UE5 for rendering, filming and maybe for creating games. I am also interested in programming and AI, so it might be used for those purposes. However my main requirement for the build is to run UE5 flawlessly in nanite quality.
Unfortunately I have limited experience in building PCs. I did my best to find the components that are the best fits for my needs but I am not quite sure that all of them are compatible with each other and that I won't run into a bottleneck at some point. So I need some help to check whether the all the components are compatible and are not gonna cause me a bottleneck.Thank you in advance! 😊

2023.05.30 10:25 Fit_Trainer1878 Foolproof Guide to becoming a Ruler Designed God-Emperor - 2023 EDITION
This is the updated version of
u/mykeedee's wonderful
guide written with their express persmission.
Whilst most of the contents of the guide are still golden, the mod has gone through a lot of changes since 2020, prompting me to write this update. As such, I would like to humbly introduce the 2023 edition with OP's from the original.
"Ever wanted to be an invincible Mary Sue slaughtering your way across Tamriel and dominating the continent without cheating or dying? Well unlike in Vanilla CK2 Elder Kings has a defined path to success for this outcome with zero RNG involved. Many of us have done this, but there's a bit of inherent knowledge of the mechanics required to do it with minimal headaches, hence this guide.
This is a guide for people who own Jade Dragon, don't ask how if you don't have it because I don't know."
The guide is tooled towards making you a high-stat Legendary Pureblooded Vampire Mage. A legendary mage can remove bad congenital traits, add positive ones, and amongst the many OP benefits of being a mage in the Elder Scrolls. A Pureblooded Vampire is immortal, can sire children, and will never be exposed as one unless if you feed or tell a friend/lover.
AI can be set at extreme handicap, the AI having more money is ironically a good thing for you
Step One: Selecting your starting position.
The strat is going to require an immense amount of cash. As raiding is not limited to certain religions in EK1, you would want to play someone coastal and could raid literally everywhere, a patrician, or ideally both. Whilst you could technically do this strat as genuinely anyone in Mundus, you are going to look real silly trying to raid anyone as a single-holding count in the middle of Alinor.
Step Two: Selecting your natural lifespan.
The ruler designer ages you per good trait and de-ages you per bad trait. Playing as a long-lived mer is obviously the best foil to this caveat and you could simply ignore this guide to play as a 70 year old genetically perfect bosmer. However, the guide also works excellently for short-lived races (if you're not actively trying to age your character) or for starting off as a 16 year old elf.
Step Three: Designing your character.
Traits: You are NOT to gain vampirism and immortality from ruler designer. As such, ignore all of the vampire traits. You are however looking towards becoming a legendary mage. To do so you will start your character,
STRICTLY, as Experienced Mage.
For positive traits, especially congenitals, we recommend the following as they are either impossible or an extreme b*tch to get and are remarkably valuable
- Genius - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Tall - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Lucky - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Left Handed - can't be magicked by Legendary Mage
- Shrewd - an extreme b*tch to get. Practically unobtainable within your own life time
- Daedric Scion - you are some daedric prince's spawn.
- Erudite - an extreme b*tch to get. Practically unobtainable within your own life time
- Any of the character history traits - You will start off as 16 year old child of who knows what. You want to add any of these in, I prefer Former Soldier
- Your preferred Birthsign
For negative traits, especially congenitals, we recommend the following as they are removable, insignificant, or can be dealt with
- All of the bad congenitals (dark bluish purple background in icons) except dwarf, inbred, slow/imbecile, unlucky - can be magicked away by Master Mage and replaced by good congenitals by Legendary Mage
- Bastard/Adopted - get both. A ruler designed character has no parents and the negatives are cancelled by your super high stats.
- Drunkard, Lunatic, Possessed - can be magicked away by Master Mage
- Uncouth - can be removed and even replaced with Groomed by being a member of the Scenarists
- Gluttonous, Arbitrary, Craven, Slothful - will be removed by the passage of time
- Cruel - is actually a positive if you want to become a Necromancer
This is a risky trait to add but if you think you're lucky and will gain magicka early, go take Scurvy which you will be curing ASAP.
Stats: Put a base 10 points in all your stats, then pump your T
otal Learning to at least 30 and put what's left into Martial. Anything north of 50 martial will ensure your char is a nightmare to beat when leading an army. Add 5 clicks to fertility if you want an easier time spawning kids.
If you've stacked so many negative traits, you would notice that your char is still 16 years old. If this is so, go wild in dumping points into Martial until around 90 at most as the designer will Stack Overflow your Martial back to zero if you go anywhere above that. At 80+ martial, your ruler will practically win every single battle.
Here are some more recommendations for the stat dumps after 80-90 Martial, rationale, and ranked by importance
- IMPORTANT - Dump some points into Intrigue until reaching a total somewhere north of 36-40. this will make it easier to do jobs as a member of the Thieves Guild or the local version of it
- Important - Dump some points into Learning until reaching somewhere north of 45-50 for a larger Magicka pool. You will need it. A bit higher if you want to be a Necromancer.
- Somewhat less important - A Stewardship skill of 40-50+ improved by boosts from Black Book quests will give you enough Demesne Limit to personally hold all the tower holdings (White-Gold, Greensap, Adamantine, Crystal-Like), and get an impressive income as a patrician
- Unimportant - Just have a base of 18-20 for Diplomacy. By the end of this guide, your vassals should immensely like/fear you regardless.
Keep dumping points into stats/traits until your character ceases to be 16 years old.
Religion Publicly-worshipping short lived mortals gain a discount for Favor (Ardor ingame) interactions. If you want to save time as a short lived race and is fine with the likelihood of becoming middle aged, start off as publicly Cult of Hermaeus Mora. Elsewise, start off as publicly Cult of Molag Bal. Either works as you are going to be worshipping both of these in sequence.
Why are we worshipping Hermaeus Mora - We are going to use the Oghma Infinium twice to graduate our Experienced Mage to Master Mage then to Legendary Mage. We can also use the Black Book events to boost our stats even further.
Why are we worshipping Molag Bal - To gain Pureblooded Vampirism
Step Four: Playing the Game
To gain benefits from Daedric Princes, we have to spend Ardor. To gain Ardor, we would have to sacrifice a ton of Artifacts. As the PC has no cost-efficient ways to craft artifacts for sacrifice, we would have to steal these from elsewhere in the world.
So upon starting the game, you are to join your local Thieves Guild or version of it. Upon joining, you will be given the option to personally steal artifacts, as long as the target is located in the same continent, as opposed to having someone else doing it for you. If you've started off with an impressively high score in Intrigue, you will successfully steal the following artifacts around 95% of the time and at markedly lower cost. These artifacts are usually the easiest to steal, the most prevalent, and are ordered according to my subjective ranking by cost-efficiency
- Silver Ring - steal for 25-50 drakes, sacrificed for 150 Ardor.
- Superior Mithril Armour - steal for 75-150 drakes, sacrificed for 400 ardor
- Superior Steel Sword - steal for 25-50 drakes, sacrifice for 100 ardor
- Mithril Armour - steal for 75-150 drakes, sacrificed for 300 ardor
As stealing requires gold, gold will be gained either by raiding or trade posts. If you're a patrician near or a non-patrician on the Imperial Isle, slap a trade post on there IMMEDIATELY and forget it until later. In this time of the game, gold is mostly gained by raiding.
Whilst you start off as an unbeatable 80+ Martial god, you will still need the numbers to raid down holdings. I suggest dabbling into Necromancy and summoning up risen dead armies for this purpose, unless if you started out as a King/Emperor with an acceptable amount of vassal levies. Do take care as learning Necromancy quickly, and the Necromancer's Ring and Necromancer's Amulet, comes with a significant semi-temporary health malus. So cure that Scurvy ASAP using Expert Mage.
So the gameplay is
- a loop of raiding, stealing an artifact, sacrificing to daedric prince
- once you have gained what you need from the respective prince (reminder: two uses of Oghma Infinium for Hermaeus, one request for Pureblooded vampirism from Molag), take Scholarship focus, build Observatory, study Oblivion, and secretly convert to the other prince. Alternatively, you can secretly convert if you personally own a county that is the other prince's holy site.
- a loop of raiding, stealing an artifact, sacrificing to daedric prince. if mastelegendary mage, simultaneously improve your congenitals (get brawny, strong, perceptive, agile, powerful/melodious voice, attractive, hardy)
- once you have gained what you need from the respective prince (reminder: two uses of Oghma Infinium for Hermaeus, one request for Pureblooded vampirism from Molag), the world is your oyster. You are now the most dangerous being in Aurbis, a Legendary Pureblooded Vampire mage.
That's it

2023.05.30 10:22 Panisenpai Hiring and recruiting. Pizza places are severely underpaid and understaffed (rant)
I have been a GM for an inner major city store residential/airbnb store a little over two years, been with the company for 4, transferring between each column of volume-base. I'm having an exceptionally hard time hiring, especially delivery experts. my last app for a DE was 6 months ago. my current DEs, they are heavenly and they are the most wonderful people, i've kept them for years but they're dropping like flies because they're burning out, can't make enough to maintain their cars or live, to keep up with the volume.
my area is gentrified, new pizza places are opening up left and right, and while my sales have gone down, i've lost good customers, while some other customers are getting more and more bitter because we're raising prices on the menu when we don't need to. Comparing these to menus of other pizza places, you can get better quality, better service for the same price or less.
cost of living has gone up dramatically, but my franchise has kept the same rate of pay across the board for these multiple stores in outer city areas where cost of living is lower. the stores that are located in these outer city/rural areas tend to be the best performing ones.
We start at 12/hr, but i cant seem to get anyone in the door when the fast food joints and retail stores next door are hiring $6+ more an hour. "employees get paid more at competing recruiters, so there's less hours to give. that's why we pay so low" So....we're just supposed to overwork the hell out of our current employees for less? the logic doesn't add up.
I have 4 delivery drivers for around $28k weekly, strongest is dinner and late night. my best employees are soloing every night because i refuse to let them work more than 5 days. they're exhausted.
they can keep doing Boost weeks, but when you're losing employees left and right and still pushing for this customer retention instead of focusing on what makes the company run in the first place, we are driving employees into the ground. more work/not enough pay/not worth it for either the employee or the company. Yet, we still push this obtuse idea.
Boost Week doesn't even retain customers anymore. customers see the ads, they order pizzas for the week, overload the already crumbling staff and never come back, because that's what we stand for as company now.
Pizza places are struggling so hard. I'm considering leaving because my heart hurts for my employees and i can't help but feel as if it's my fault for representing such an asinine mission statement for a Big corporation.
one thing i remember in my training is people work for good managers. but that's simply not true anymore. Good management only goes so far until you can't pay your bills. I love my job and i love working for my people but i cant keep doing this to them, and it's not going to get better. i've had discussions with many of my upper management but there doesn't seem to be a concern or even the slightest bit of support for any of my neighboring stores. my direct supervisor is aware of the situation but there's nothing he can do. I don't care where this gets me. I'm on probation in my company for repeated offenses speaking up about this. I understand that this isn't something that can resolve at my level. life is unfair but this is just cruel. A company that profits so much, bragging a "recession-proof" company, but yet we don't even pay our driving force that put us on the freaking map in the first place, a decent wage to pick up the slack. embarrassing is an understatement.
