2023.05.30 23:08 BestWerefloof Thinking about starting hormones..

I've been making moves towards starting HRT for about half a year now, thinking about it for over half a decade. Next month I'm thinking about starting, however I have a few things I'm curious about. For some context I've been obese practically my entire childhood, it peaked in 2020 (I imagine plenty of people did considering the year) and was pretty much stuck at 350 lbs (I'm 6'2) till 2023. In the last 3 months I've lost about 40 lbs, but I know that starting HRT will more than likely REALLY mess up the way my body processes everything. I was hoping to get some advice from yall about how anyone losing weight pre hormones continued to maintain weight loss after it. Any tips, reccomended exercises and such?
I'm also just curious how obvious the first year or so hormones are, I don't plan on presenting male until I'm confident in my appearance because I'm just.. overly critical of myself.
Hope everyone is having a lovely week, and that this question hasn't been asked a billion times haha

2023.05.30 22:56 Calm-Image744 What’s the next step for me?

Hi, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read. Let me start by saying I swear I'm not having a mid-life crisis. Everything is fine I'm just super indecisive.
So, my son (8m), my fiance (24f) and I (32m) live together in a 3 bedroom townhouse owned by her father. This essentially means we're getting a brea on the rent (paying $1350 per month when it should be around $1900-$2100). Back when covid hit and I got laid off I decided to leave the union and quit iron-working. I found a government grant that paid for me to go to Hvac school for free.
I graduated and made $100k my first year and around $135k my second. Iron-working I was making about $70k-$75k so this was a huge bump.
The only amoun of "splurging" I've done is paid roughly $30k to build the 1963 Chevy II SS I've been dragging around with me since I was 16, and the upcmoing wedding in October costing around $20k (FIL is contributing $10k and MIL is contributing $5k) so only $5k out of pocket for me.
Now keep in mind, before switching to Hvac I had virtually no savings and was living paycheck to paycheck. Currently I have about $18k in a roth ira account because my new employer doesnt offer 401k and I had to move out of my previoud employers provider. I have about $28k between my checkings and savings, another $70k in cash, about $10k in silver, and another $5k between a robinhood, wealthfront and charles schwab investment account. At the moment im averaging about $3.5k per week in gross revenue.
Heres the issue.
I am bored beyond belief and I dont feel i make anywhere near the amount of money I want/need to in order to retire by 40 (soft goal). I’m super insecure about my financial portfolio. I am chock full of ideas; some of which I feel could easily be multi-million dollar companies if they aren't already. I am hyper motivated but feeling discouraged after three failed business attempts.
The issues is I have zero network. I grew up super poor and was not by any means a model citizen growing up and have worked very hard and spent hundreds of hours in therapy to sperate myself from not only that lifestyle but from the people I grew up with so I dont have many friends left or at least no "lifers" that I've known for 18+ years or whatever.
I just feel like im at a platue now and I cant figure out what to do to take the next step. I want to take the $130k per year and make it $260k per year. That's what I've done my entire life. My entire resume is level-up list where every new Job I've acquired I've made more money than the lasy or at least improved my quality of living substantially compared to the previous situation and I’m ready for that. I want to have more children with this girl that I love. I want to get big ol house with some land and chickens and more dogs and have toys to fuck around on. I refuse to be one of the antiwork people and cower the the climate of hyper capitalism. I’ll do whatever it takes to make it happens I’m just waiting for that one opportunity to come along. I even have an llc just sitting there doing nothing atm. At the very least I’d love some advice on how best to allocate the $70k cash I have and put that money to work.
Any advice or input is appreciated and I'd love to discuss anything further in the comments! Also my location is Lv, NV.

2023.05.30 22:46 jasonjiel People chilling at loading zones

Lemme get this straight - so it is okay for 4-5 taxis to completely occupy a P10 loading dock for god knows how long sipping coffee and having a ciggy; while I - a 6meter long truck get rudely honked at for stopping at a taxi stand for a literal minute?
If you are not picking up your customer, go park somewhere else. I have 80 drops a day and on a salary pay - I do not have the luxury of driving in circles all day.
Yes I admit I am not perfect. I park at bus stops or yellow lines at times - but only when I have no other choice and for that I apologise to other road users. But at least when I do I only choose one of those long spacious bays and I don’t start a fucking breakfast club and obstruct everyone else.
Sorry for the rant and have a great day.

2023.05.30 22:46 norashepard On reporting a therapist (US)

There are a lot of posts about reporting therapists here. There’s a FAQ that outlines the logistical process, but I thought I’d talk a bit about emotional risk, justice, and closure for the specific group of folks reporting therapists who traumatized them. I hope this is helpful for some. Sorry in advance if it upsets anyone. Please be kind. I’m not a therapist fyi, just in the (long) middle of the process.
  1. Remember that the license is a legal agreement with the state, not a professional organization. Accordingly, this is a legal process that could potentially end in a formal disciplinary hearing between your therapist and the state (not you). As in any legal matter, the burden of proof is on you, so you want to gather as much tangible evidence as you can. You may want to give up because you don’t have direct correspondence with the therapist or (one-party state) recordings, but evidence might also include journals, texting or chatting with others about it, social media, or other dated material. Searching through old chats and rereading exchanges, taking screenshots, etc. can be destabilizing (at least it was for me). Depending on the state and/or the violation, you may also need to prepare for a phone call with the lead investigator, which can of course be stressful, and even retraumatizing. You should have plans in place for support. Having my own therapist at this moment was essential.
  2. You need to write a statement that explains what happened. As the FAQ says, it’s good to explain exactly which codes your therapist violated. Some people are better writers than others. While someone can’t write the statement for you, someone you trust can maybe help you with phrasing and grammar, and also help you see where information may be missing. Understandably this may be hard to do because it requires you to share, but if you feel comfortable sharing with someone, I would recommend it.
  3. Despite the fact that this is a legal matter, this is not at all like a lawsuit on your end. All you do is write a statement, include evidence, submit the report, maybe talk to an investigator. That should be it. No defense attorney is there to make you look crazy. You won’t need to see your therapist, though they’ll have read your complaint. After speaking to the investigator (if your case warrants it), that’s likely the end of the process for you.
  4. The disciplinary action may not match the pain you experienced. I see a lot of people telling various OPs to report their therapist because they deserve to “lose their license.” Most of the discipline is rehabilitation. The majority of penalties within recent years in my state are $200-1000 and continuing education, sometimes with a reprimand, audit (ethics), probation, or suspension. For example, one case with multiple ethical conduct violations with clients mandates continuing credits, no fine. One unethical conduct case is simply a reprimand. Another unethical conduct case mandates a few years probation and a course. One disciplined for abandonment had their license suspended for five days. Neglected clients, one year probation. You get the idea. Most unethical conduct penalties allow therapists to continue to practice without interruption. Revocations or surrenders of licenses for unethical conduct with clients were almost exclusively for sexual misconduct. You could check your state records to see how yours handles things (some reports are hard to find or unavailable). All this said, all disciplinary action is public—available for both colleagues and clients to see—and can affect further employment and malpractice insurance. I also imagine reports from multiple clients accumulate. Just don't expect them to lose their license. Ask yourself if a lenient penalty is better than nothing. If my therapist wouldn’t have lost his license, I would have been devastated to the point of severe SUI. Arkansas has an unusually detailed list of actions if you want some idea. For some states you can read the Consent Orders.
  5. As the FAQ says, be prepared to wait. There may be a quick turnaround, but unfortunately more likely it will take many months, even more than a year, depending on the efficiency of your state board and/or the amount of cases they’re investigating. The wait time could even be longer than the statute of limitations period for a malpractice lawsuit in your state (unfortunate because the report is very useful in a lawsuit). My state’s statute of limitations is 2 years and it’s been 1.5 years since reporting. I still haven’t received closure on my investigation. I spoke to the investigator over a year ago and never heard anything again. Since then the case has changed investigators and my therapist has retired. I’m trying to forget it, since he isn’t practicing, but if he were still practicing I’d probably be losing my absolute shit. Consider if you’re the type to obsess. Will you check every month? Every week? Every day? Is the complaint going to interfere with your own healing for as long as it takes to resolve? And is the complaint worth that? It unequivocally may be, but best to check in with yourself.
  6. For your sanity, it’s important to stay realistic about the guidelines under which the board is working, and the limitations of the system. Some violations are obviously easier to prove than others. The grey area is not actionable. For example, emotional abuse is one of the most damaging experiences one can have in life, but also complex and hard to undeniably prove (“were you just misreading or misinterpreting?”). On the flip, something that hurt you very much may not be unethical, at least not under the ethics code. The violations in your case need clear definition. Some members of the board may even be more sympathetic to you than your therapist, but they still need to be careful in adjudicating because, again, this is a legal process with major ramifications for the therapist. How will you stay stable and safe if your very valid complaint is rejected because it didn’t fit neatly into the box?
  7. Because you’re reporting a traumatic experience, it’s really best to work with a therapist if you’re ready and able. A therapist can ask you questions, and you can ask them questions, within an actual conversation. They can help you figure out if a report is warranted, then help you process and understand your goals, if you even want to file, and then consider if it might be potentially harmful enough for you to postpone the report. And, if you do file, they can help with the preparation as appropriate, and to keep you stable during it. I can’t emphasize enough how important my therapist has been in my pursuit of justice and closure. I truly think she saved my life.
I’m sure others here have been through the process and can share their own experiences. Just thoughts from my limited experience of the process.

2023.05.30 22:44 SirDigbyFishCake Why all the basic questions?

I understand this sub is meant to be a place for addicts to come together and discuss things, but I really think at least 50% of the posts here posted on a daily basis could be avoided if people just used the resources available on the NoFap website. Or, even on Reddit, just go to the sub, click About, and find the Important Links.
It’s not a good look for this sub for people to be asking frankly ridiculous questions like “Does watching porn count as a relapse?” and “I just peaked at a porn video and edged for 30 minutes, have I relapsed?”. If you just spent 5 minutes of your time reading the articles specifically written by NoFap to help you, we could have much better and more enticing discussions about this addiction here.
It’s SO frustrating to come here and see these unhelpful posts, and whenever you spark a discussion someone brings up some pseudoscience topic about “life force energy”, or how semen contains your spirit and every time you ejaculate you become a lifeless husk. It’s getting beyond the par recently.
NoFap mods, is there any process whereby if someone makes a post asking a blatantly obvious question, they could be automatically directed to some FAQ’s? Or is there not the manpower for that kind of moderation? Even if the FAQ’s just say something vague along the lines of “a relapse can be anything you deem not to be beneficial for your recovery”, etc.

2023.05.30 22:44 JammyDodger41 Gym crush

So I see this girl at the Gym a couple of times a week, I don’t always train at the same time.
She’s smoking hot, has the face, the body everything, a solid 10 in my eyes. I’ve caught her a few times looking me straight in the eyes once while i was working out and I looked up and there she was staring at me straight in the eyes, I almost jammed my joggers. On another occasion I was walking down some stairs, she seen me coming and went in front of me to go down the stairs and then decided to look back at me straight in the eyes again, I almost lose all composure, and sometimes just stands across me in the gym and gives me a short stare across the room ( I don’t mind at all, it makes my membership worth it’s money).
But we’ve never had anything more than that, not even a conversation. I’m a very reserved person in the gym and not usually good at starting convos but once I get going, i’m good.
Now i’ve been told I look like I have a resting B face by people close to me but I don’t know if she’s interested and she’s showing interest or just thinking “is this guy a creep”.
How do I work up the courage or break the ice? I don’t want to be a creep and just walk up to her and start a random convo or start asking a series of questions, I’ve seen that fail right in this very gym and the bloke who tried, I’ve never seen him since.

Looked in the mirror at work and audibly gasped at how awful I looked. Of course I notice every single flaw and wrinkle. My reaction? Heavily restrict my lunch. For some reason punishing myself this way makes me feel accomplished and a bit better about being so repulsed by my own appearance. Does anyone else do this? 2023.05.30 22:33 Arkler Why people should work in a post-scarcity society, and how 24th ST society can function without money: waiting time as a commodity and the Reputation System.

Note: I am still working on this theory and I know there is a ton of stuff I am missing, but what better place of this one to try and discuss?
It has been discussed frequently, but still something that has bugged me since I've known Star Trek (and that is many many years ago) is the concept of how a society can function if we remove money from the equation.
As far as I remember, it is never clearly stated how people in the UFP carry on with their lives and decide to work when they don't need money. We do however know that "the acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force" and that "humans work to better themselves" from First Contact.
Though this only brings out more questions: are there enough people willing to do every job still needed to be done? What drives people to the less desired positions? Because apparently, if in a post-scarcity society you don't need to work at all, we are supposed to believe one works just because he wants to or out of boredom.
But this leaves out the more tiresome jobs (or less interesting), and automation will only go up to a certain point (We only see in PIC S1 that androids have started to be used as workforce, but we also see other workers of what seems like a tedious job).
I've come up with an idea: what I will call the "Reputation system", though reputation is used loosely.
Assuming that: in a post scarcity society your basic needs will always be met, something like a UBI without the money. You have the right to a house, a bed, to eat regularly, to travel, to see a doctor and so on. And you will just ask for it and receive what you need.
But if you work, any kind of job, every time you consistently do your job you receive reputation points. You do not spend them: they "just" give you priority to request goods or services (for example priority to use a replicator).
In a post scarcity society there are no actual commodities to be exchanged, as everything can be created from energy and recycled in enegy, and energy from M/AM reactors is almost limitless. Only thing of value: your time. So, waiting less for obtaining something might be desirable.
It may not seem much when you just wait in line for a food replicator, as it is quick and will serve everyone in front of you quite fast, but what if you want the parts for a space shuttle and you need access to an industrial size replicator? There are far less of them, and they probably work all the time. What if you want it already assembled? You will also need to require services of the aforementioned workers, who no doubt are working hard every day.
Enter the reputation system, along with waiting time: in this system you have a certain score, and the higher it is, the higher you are in any queue when requesting something. And the more time you wait, the more "situational score" you accumulate.
The situational score is important because otherwise, in certain "markets", you may end up with your queue position always overtaken by people with a higher Reputation Score and never get what you want. But let's say you have 100 RS and waited 30 minutes, and those give you 100 situational points, you now have 200: someone with a Reputation Score of 180 is no longer able to overtake your position. Once you've waited enough, no one can, not even Starfleet high ranked officers with, let's say, 800 RS.
So that's why you decide to work: because if you don't you still live your life perfectly fine, but whenever you want to do something out of the ordinary you will end up waiting. Now, how do you get the Reputation Points? They may work this way: if your customers or "employers" (Starfleet for officers for example) confirm you did your job, you get a certain amount of points. If they value your job as exceptional you get extra. If you fail to do your job within the expected standards, you lose points.
So now you have the choice of what job you want to try to do, and if you become very good in it you will work more and accumulate more reputation points. Not everyone is tailored to be an art performer, or to oversee agriculture. So you tend to choose the job for which you feel you can do your best: maybe you're that good at working in a factory replicating and assembling components for Warp Drives. Boring, tiresome, but you're good and you quickly accumulate RP.
It does not stop here: workers and professionals with high reputations will be in demand. And the system takes care of it too, since the higher the reputation of someone, the longer will be the queue of people wanting to hire him (let's say, a good musician for a concert). But when queues are too long customers may decide to go down the reputational ladder and hire someone with less reputation, that maybe has no queue at all in that moment.
In this sense you "work for the betterment of yourself" and of humanity as a whole: you don't need to work to live and not even to fulfill your dreams. But if you do you'll get things faster, cutting waiting times that nibble at your only commodity in the future: time. No one lives forever (yet), and shorter queue times are desirable and a driving force.
And this is how everyone, by working to better himself, also works for a better humanity: by doing his best at the job he thinks he can do best. And if he want to do another job, he will try to learn and get experienced to do it the best he can.
Now, let's address what could be a weak point: people with impossibly high Reputation monopolizing every kind of request. This could be easily avoided with a limit that says you cannot ask for something new if you have still a certain number of requests undergoing. And besides, even with 10,000 RS you could not get in front of a no-worker even at a food replicator if he's been waiting long enough that he got 10,001 situational points.
Another weak point: no one lives forever but some species live longer than others, and therefore may be able to reach higher Reputation Scores. But even that could be fixed by weighing the amount of score for every job against the average life span of the species. So if an Ocampa and a Vulcan do the same job, in the same way, and both customers are equally satisfied, the Ocampa will get far more Reputation Points. And it makes sense, because by having less to live than the Vulcan, he should be allowed to get the things he needs faster.
Again, this is a theory I am still working on and there may be something around the corner ready to destroy it. But without challenging it I cannot test and improve it anyway so... let me know what you think.

2023.05.30 22:32 ThrowawayJobHunter5 My [M 28] lack of interest in Concerts and parties and Her [F 24] Lack of friends in my Town, makes our relationship, Rocky.

Hi, sorry for my grammar errors.
Right now i'm in very stressful situation. I recently [28 m] talked with my Girlfriend [24F] about activities we can do together. It's been an issue before. My girlfriend was afraid that she might leave my town and go back to her parents that live 260 miles away. It would of course end our relationship but after few months everything seemed to go back to normal.
Going back to the activites, she talked how she wanted me to go out with her on a concert. I am totally not a Concert person but i said i will go with her, and it made her really happy. But unfortunately i had problems with my job, that made me switch positions and now i work the dead-end job that is stressful and i'm trying to get back to some better jobs but it's really time consuming since i need to work on my CV. It made overwork, spend too much time looking for jobs and not taking care of myself or her [she lives nearby , around 15 minutes away].
And because of that i changed my plans and decided i will spend the time on sunday [the concert] working on my CV and looking for job, which was stupid. I told my girlfriend about it and she said ok and became silent for 2 days.
yesterday she responded to me that she feel sad about it and it makes her disappointed that i don't want to go and makes her feel that our life is stale and really enclosed, since she doesn't really have mutual friends and only thing we do is go to eachothers home or go out into city for food or some drinks. She said that it makes her feel sad.
I wanted to fix it and said that it was because of me overstressing a lot and i will go with her but she said she rather go with her friends alone, and don't want me there because she feels like now i'm just pushing myself to do it and it feels wrong, even though she said it felt cute that i bought ticket after i refused going out just to be with her there. After talking for an hour , she said she's okay and not mad , just little sad and needs to cool off.
So now i'm starting to feel like that's becoming a major wall that we can't cross together. She needs socializing but she doesn't have friends and we rarely go out together making me feel like we are on a thin ice with our relationship , that can end by her going to her parents.
What should i do? should do anything or just accept it and move on with our relationship and see what's gonna happen. Will that be a major problem later? We talked about marriage and kids and she wants to live together but the lack of friends makes it really difficult for her.
TL;DR! - Rejected going out on concert of a stupid reason. Made my GF go back to major issue of her feeling like we live an enclosed life without mutual friends, and it makes her depressed and doubtful about staying in my town, which would mean she comes back to parents and we end relationship [distance is too big]

2023.05.30 22:31 OkAmbition4976 Am I wrong for being upset at my friend?

I 26f, am best friends with a guy 25m. Over 3 years ago now we dated for less than 10 months. But became better friends than partners. It took us a long time to move past all the trauma of how we broke up, and admittedly i still struggle personally with healing from it. But he is easily my best friend for a lot of reasons. He has a new girlfriend, of maybe 8-9 months. Im not completely sure. And in the beginning i really struggled with it, in fear of losing him as a friend because i know that at the height of my insecurities, i wouldn’t have been comfortable with a girl best friend for my partner. And despite there being nothing happening between us at all, i still fear that this girl may make him choose. And I genuinely don’t want that for him or i.
Despite all of that, i still think he should have told her from the beginning that i exist. As a best friend. Or at least should tell him now. But he just says that she knows my name exists in his life, but not necessarily who i am or what part i play in his life. And i get really bugged by it, even though i don’t want to be.
He wont ever likely see this thread. So i ask, should i just let it be what it is? Is it weird that he wont tell her? Am i in the wrong being bothered by it?

2023.05.30 22:30 gravygrowinggreen Two companies, two case studies in communication.

Last week, the developers at Ghost Ship Games released previews of a cosmetic DLC pack they planned on selling next month. The reaction to this cosmetic pack was mixed to say the least. People did not believe it was up to the usual quality standard of Ghost Ship Games. In light of that, this week, Ghost Ship Games released a new communications update on a central platform (Steam, with mirrored posts on Reddit and other forums).
They explained that the customers were right, and in light of that feedback, they had redone the cosmetics, with significantly improved details to make the guns stand out a lot more. They included a detailed video and image preview of the new cosmetics. And to top it all off, they promised to include both versions of the cosmetics in the upcoming content drop, with the old version of the paint job being included in the free update.
Note the steps taken in this communication.
  1. Admission of the issue.
  2. Detailed explanation of how the issue will be resolved, that leaves nothing to the imagination.
It is a simple formula. Only two steps. Of course, step 2 requires that a solution for the issue be in the works. Crucially, there were no announcements about the announcement. No "next week's" about how you'll hear more. No countdowns to patch notes. It is a strategy so simple, I'm only able to write this much about it. It is a good strategy. A strategy so good, that I, a very creative complainer and whiner, can't find anything to complain or whine about.
Now consider essentially 6 months of communication by Fat Shark. Let's track one issue. Crafting.
  1. In the first month of release, communications largely promised that a complete crafting system was coming soon. Some week in December (2022, being implied).
  2. What followed was a long period of chained in sequence "next week, we'll tell you more", cementing the phrase "next week" in darktide meme history.
  3. Eventually, after Catfish assumes the duties of community manager, and to her enormous credit, we get the "open letter". This was perhaps the closest Fat Shark has had to having good communications. Unfortunately, old habits die hard. The open letter identified issues (incomplete crafting system; unsatisfying progression loop; poor performance optimization), and at least implied a solution (delaying seasonal content rollout and the xbox series xls launch, while suspending the upcoming releases of premium cosmetics; in order to have a "sole focus" on addressing feedback). Things are looking up. A new communications manager has taken over, and communications appear to be if not great, at least significantly improved.
  4. Unfortunately, soon after this still somewhat vague letter, Fat Shark was back to its old habits. The crafting update came out, along with steady performance optimization. But open, candid communications slowly ceased. After the crafting update came out, Fat Shark has been virtually radio silent on the failure of that update to address the game's issues. If one were to go purely by communications by the company, it would be difficult to believe they even recognize those issues currently exist.
  5. Since the crafting update, the only post by u/Fatshark_Catfish that I can identify which acknowledges crafting is an issue is this But we still have a real lack of actual communication. Outside this one post, barely any mention of any issues the game has.
So what can we learn about Fat Shark's communication strategy? If it doesn't involve outright lies (as it did in December 2022 when they promised a completed crafting system in December), it involves deliberate silence, and a refusal to acknowledge any issues. Apparently, if you don't admit your game has flaws, you don't have to address them.
Compare the two companies. I have a reasonable idea about what exactly GSG has been working on based on their release schedule and communications to players. I have no idea what Fat Shark has been working on. It is left to my imagination, and my imagination suspects they've just been focusing on a console port, past messaging to the contrary be damned. Even if they are working on the console port as their sole focus, them openly, honestly acknowledging this would be preferable to their attempt to string an entire community along with a drip feed of content while pretending they're doing their best.
You know what would be most preferable? If they could simply, openly, and honestly, state what the community's issues with the game are, and whether they plan to do anything about those issues. Even if the answer with respect to our example, crafting, is "no, while the community believes that is an issue, we do not", this answer would be preferable to their current strategy of "silence and let the community fester in false hope". It would be more respectful to the players that they need for this game to survive. It would treat people as actual customers, rather than products to be deceived.
To be clear, I don't think any of this is u/Fatshark_Catfish's fault. If anything, the open letter that occurred after she took over the community manager position indicates that she knows how to do her job right. And her continued silence in the face of the game's numerous issues is a policy set by management. So this is a fat shark problem, not a catfish problem. Fat Shark would do well to actually let catfish do her job, if that is correct.
Anyways, rock and stone lads.
EDIT: It occurred to me that I should do more to explain why open, direct communication is a good strategy for a company too. This is a good strategy for two reasons:
  1. It fills in the gap. If a company chooses to not even address issues in their communications, they leave their customers to guess and imagine how the company will eventually attempt to address the issues later. This is bad. People are cynical. They will imagine the worst in the absence of any evidence to the contrary. People like me will imagine that the company is doing something silly, like porting a broken game to a console in the middle of a virulent community rage storm about the status of that game. Addressing issues, even if you merely address them to say that they are not issues, prevents this sort of speculation.
  2. It builds up credit. A history of open, honest, and direct communication gives you breathing room when you can't actually engage openly or honestly for whatever reason. If a Fat Shark representative posted in this thread that all my issues will be addressed in three months, but they can't tell me how, I wouldn't believe them. If a GSG representative posted in their thread that they had to delay the patch for half a year for vague reasons they couldn't legally talk about, I would believe them. The difference is that GSG has built up a reputation for being forthright and honest with their customers, and Fat Shark has spent the last month avoiding the phrase "next week" in communication, because they've used it too often to weasel out of deadlines without getting memes made.
