Well, well, well. Look who thinks they have the right to spew their misguided opinions about my favorite TV show. Let me tell you, my dear, you are quite mistaken if you believe that your pitiful attempt at criticism holds any weight in this discussion. Your lack of understanding and appreciation for the intricacies and nuances of the show only demonstrates your limited capacity for intellectual stimulation. It is no surprise to me that someone like you, with such a shallow and superficial understanding of what makes good television, would dare to criticize a masterpiece such as this. I can only assume that your taste in entertainment is as dull and uninspired as your wit. But I won't fault you entirely, as I recognize that some people simply lack the ability to comprehend greatness when they see it. Your opinion, while worthless, is at least an indication of your own shortcomings as a consumer of media. Perhaps you should stick to watching mindless drivel that requires little to no thought on your part. In the end, it is clear that you are not qualified to discuss my favorite show in any meaningful way. So, I suggest you take your uninformed and unintelligent commentary elsewhere, as it is not welcome in the presence of true fans.

2023.03.20 22:37 g78to2021 Idiot Wind - A critical look at hero worship
Bob Dylan's song "Idiot Wind" is a complex and layered work that can be interpreted in many different ways. However, one interpretation that stands out is Dylan's critical commentary on the idea of hero worship and the limitations of looking for answers from a single source. In this article, we will explore Dylan's motivations for writing the song, the key themes and symbols in "Idiot Wind," and what the song can teach us about the dangers of hero worship.
Frustration with Hero Worship
Bob Dylan was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, and many people looked to him for guidance and inspiration. However, Dylan may have been frustrated with the expectations and hero worship that were placed on him as a public figure. People regarded him as a modern messiah and wanted him to show them the way, but Dylan was a human being, not a prophet, and the weight of these expectations may have weighed heavily on him.
Inspiration from a Heartbreak
One possible source of inspiration for "Idiot Wind" is Dylan's relationship with a girl who he thought genuinely saw him and loved him for who he was. However, he later realized that she just idolized who she thought he was and could never really know or love him. This heartbreak may have been the driving force behind Dylan's critical commentary on hero worship in "Idiot Wind."
A Playful Critique of Looking for Answers
The title "Idiot Wind" can be seen as a playful or even sarcastic way of describing the wind, and it can be interpreted as Dylan's way of commenting on the idea of people looking for answers and direction from a single figure or authority. The wind can be seen as a metaphor for the idea of something that carries people along, without stopping to think or question. By calling the wind an "idiot," Dylan may be suggesting that blindly following along without questioning can be foolish or misguided.
A Connection to "Blowin' in the Wind"
"Idiot Wind" can also be seen as a reference to Dylan's earlier work "Blowin' in the Wind." By calling the wind "idiot," Dylan may have been drawing a contrast between his early idealism and his more cynical and disillusioned perspective later in his career. He may have been commenting on the way that people can become fixated on one person or idea, without considering the bigger picture or questioning their assumptions.
The Limitations of Hero Worship
The idea that the answers that people were looking for in "Blowin' in the Wind" were truly the words of an "idiot" would be a sharp criticism of the idea of hero worship and the tendency to put too much faith in one person or idea. By casting doubt on the answers he offered in "Blowin' in the Wind," Dylan may have been suggesting that people need to think for themselves and not rely too heavily on a single source of guidance or authority.
Conclusion
"Idiot Wind" is a rich and thought-provoking work that challenges listeners to think about the limitations of hero worship and the dangers of blindly following along without questioning. Dylan's song can be seen as a critical commentary on the idea of looking for answers from a single source and the importance of thinking for oneself. Whether you agree with Dylan's message or not, "Idiot Wind" is a powerful and memorable work that continues to inspire and challenge listeners today.

2023.03.20 22:35 PartiallyCharged Early Access Sorcerer - Recap and Review
Howdy, folks. Long time Diablo-enjoyer here. I wanted to play just a couple hours of the D4 early access weekend so as not to burn out on the early game pre-release. Instead I became totally captivated by the sorcerer and spent most of Sunday digging through everything she has to offer. So now– hours later–I thought it might be fun to organize my thoughts and share them with you all.
Let’s get a few things out of the way first.
1) I played exclusively on world tier 2. I cannot comment on WT1.
2) I dabbled in the other two classes, but I only dug deep on sorcerer. Everything here is strictly in-class. I’m not making any assumptions or assertions about how sorc stacks up to rogue or barb.
3) I didn’t have time to get to absolutely everything. Someone has to clean up this house, you know! (It’s me. I’m the one that has to clean the house. The cats sure aren’t doing it.)
4) Obviously, everything here only applies to what’s available so far. There’s probably a skill I’m going to talk smack about which, with the right legendary aspect, full 50 point build, and perfect paragon board, turns out to be a certified ripper. That’s fine. We’ll get there when we get there. I maintain that it would be cool if stuff was good more or less from the time you can use it, though, and will be operating under that principle.
5) I will express negative opinions toward some aspects of the design in this, but I have deep and abiding respect for the designers of this game. Every game, for that matter. I dabble in design and even the baby card games for babies that I’ve worked on in my spare hours seem overwhelmingly difficult to make at times. People make games. Real people. I don’t ever want to forget that and, if you choose to comment, I ask you not to forget it either.
6) Furthermore, I have deep and abiding respect for you and your opinions. No kappa. I’m not here to yuck your yum or tell you you’re doing something wrong. If you’re having a good time, you’re winning the game and I salute you.
7) What this all adds up to, is that I have spent a lot of time playing, taking notes on, and thinking about this game and in particular this class this weekend. It’s led me to some moderately firm opinions. If you disagree, I think that’s great. I want you to disagree with me. Let’s talk it out. But please be chill and respectful. If something I say about the game angers you, I would ask that you not damage your mental health and mine taking it out here. Thank you, truly.
So, the sorcerer. Pretty nifty, huh?
The tl;dr is that I think the class is very cool, and the game is very cool, and I had a lot of fun.
But.
There are definitely some things that stand out to me as not well balanced. A couple of skills seem to dominate the pack, and a few are outright stinkers. What I’m going to do is go through each skill individually, then fire off a few random thoughts.
And one more time for the back row: I liked this game and I liked this class. All criticism comes from a place of love, and for the desire to be as good for as many people as it possibly can. I wish to see the game elevated, not torn down.
On to the skills!
BASIC
Sad to start on this note, but I think the sorcerer basics are woefully underdeveloped. Spark, Frost Bolt, and Fire Bolt practically feel like the same skill. All three of them are just little baby bolts of energy that don’t look or sound particularly interesting. And mechanically, the impact of their base damage as well as the upgrades are so minimal that most of the time I’d rather just be dodging while my mana recovers.
Arc Lash though? Arc Lash is where it’s at. The numbers are better–as they should be since it’s a close range skill–but they’re much better. Add it to the wide cleave and this is the beginning of a solid basic skill. Also it’s very visually distinct, I love the orchestra conductor animation with the lash whipping back and forth.
I realize it’s probably too late to make such a sweeping change, but the three bolts could actually, literally be the same skill–call it “Elemental Bolt”--and the upgrades could apply different elemental effects, making room for other, more interesting skills basics. (Yes this would break the current skill->improvement->specialization layout followed by all the other skills, I think that’s OK.)
In any case, the other major failing of the basics is that they don’t generate any mana by default. I would really like to feel a bit of a push/pull dynamic between Basic Spell/Big Spell. And right now, they generate no mana, or very meager mana with the right upgrades, in addition to outputting damage that feels insufficient and upgrade effects that feel marginal. I say bump their numbers (generously), and consider adding some base mana regen. Maybe 3-5? Make me feel like I have a reason to weave them into my attack patterns.
CORE
Overall this crop is much better. Thematically distinct, with solid visuals and good game feel. Numerically though, there are some stark disparities. Starting at the top and going counter-clockwise we have…
-Incinerate feels like the worst of the lot. Channeled spells are always tricky to get right; standing still is dangerous and, for me at least, less interesting than bobbing and weaving. I don’t think Incinerate threads the needle. The damage output and mana cost don’t justify the downside of planting my feet. Looks cool as hell though.
-Fireball is… it’s fireball, you know? It’s a classic, and it’s doing what I’d expect it to do here. Pretty middle of the pack in terms of numerical output, quality of life, and visual flair.
-Frozen Orb is functionally a very similar skill. It has more AoE, the utility of chill, and some razzle-dazzle to the animations. But the damage is so much lower than fireball that it feels lacking. I think it needs a damage bump. (But maybe I just look back too fondly upon my days as an Ice Queen in Diablo 2. xD)
-Ice Shards is the core skill I spent the least time with. I tried it in a couple different packages, but couldn’t find the use case. If I’m being honest, it kinda feels like a Basic after a couple of upgrades, not a Core. If you love this one I definitely want to hear from you.
-Chain Lightning, I’m pretty confident, makes the rest of these spells look like chumps. It is good at clear, good at single target, and the mobility it affords is unparalleled. You just fire it and go. Seriously, look at the numbers it does for the cost, and then remember that you press that button once and can’t miss, provided your cursor was on any monster, and you get to duck dive and dodge while it bounces hither and yon, smiting your foes. I don’t think it’s too strong though, I think it feels perfect. Just what I want from a Core. If the others could be brought up to this level. I’d be extremely happy. One complaint though… why doesn’t it look like chain lightning? ;__; Come on, gimme the classic forked lightning, baby! I miss it so much here.
-Charged Bolts: Another Core that probably looks better if it’s put more on par numerically with Chain Lightning. The shotgun spread of random projectiles is another classic, and being able to get bonus effects for dumping them into a single target at point blank range is pretty cool.
DEFENSE
I think these skills are overall in a pretty good place.
-Flame Shield seems almost there. The burn numbers feel a touch low and the cooldown a touch high. It’s not a “true” defensive skill, more of a mixed use skill. And since at least one solid defensive cooldown seems pretty necessary, I’d like to see this one have a bit more muscle as an offensive skill, or a bit more defensive power added in somewhere. Maybe some bonus resistances? But then it starts to infringe on Ice Armor’s design space, so I’m not sure.
-Teleport is a staple for a reason, and this version is great. The upgrades are fine if you want them but they’re far from necessary. A true one point wonder, a classic for a reason. And I love the VFX. 10/10 no notes.
-Ice Armor is a solid defensive option for any build that’s cool (haha get it cool) with standing still and getting punched in the face. I still think that archetype is going to need more support than is currently available–whether through late/postgame stuff we haven’t seen or through some adjustments to skills like Incinerate–but I’m willing to bet this will feature in many such builds.
-Frost Nova is very, very good. Reasonable cooldown, good area. Making it inflict Vulnerable is great, and lengthening the Vulnerable duration against bosses who are immune to Freeze is a smart move. Relevant in all situations.
CONJURATION
I’m just gonna say it up top; Hydra is here, everyone else can go home now. Details follow.
-Hydra is bananapants compared to the other two. The DPS value is good, both against groups and single targets. The damage to mana ratio is obscenely high. The upgrades are great, especially the one that gives a bonus head when healthy. That’s just 33% more damage, straight up, in almost every situation. Honestly this is the one sorcerer skill in the game that could get nerfed and probably still be good, I think.
-Ice Blades makes me so sad. I find it possible that in the late game/postgame, with enough cooldown reduction and ways to make enemies vulnerable, you could do a really cool thing where Ice Blades makes Ice Blades which make Ice Blades… until you have an Icy, Bladed army slicing up the whole map. It’s certainly the first thing I thought when I read the package over. But right now it’s verging on useless. It moves and attacks so slowly, for a pitiful amount of damage. Even if it turns out to be a build-around late game powerhouse, it needs help now.
-Lightning Spear feels like the actually appropriate power level for this group. Hydra clowns on it numerically, but that’s not Lightning Spear’s fault. My one complaint is that visually, it’s insufficiently distinct from Chain Lightning. I’m not 100% sure but I think they’re actually the same projectile! This look is fine for Lightning Spear, so to restate, please make chain lighting look like, you know. A chain of lightning. ___^
MASTERY
This is a flock of strange ducks to me. In essence, Meteor, Firewall, and Ball Lightning feel like Cores in disguise. They’re just nukes. Blizzard set my expectation that these skills would be utility-based supplemental damage dealers. Kinda like how Conjurations are longer-lasting, fire-and-forget, continuous damage dealers. But ¾ feel like Cores; repeatable nukes to spend most of your mana on. In a vacuum this is fine, my only real quibble is that you have to spend points passing through the cluster of Core skills. And in a world where this is true, I would like to see more options for passives to buy in the Core cluster for builds that evolve to use a Mastery instead of a Core as the bread and butter damage button. (Bread and Butter Damage Button is the name of my cottagecore heavy metal band, btw.) Now let’s look at each skill individually.
-Blizzard does what you want Blizzard to do. (The skill that is, not the development studio; I make no claims as to whether or not Blizzard Entertainment is doing what you, personally, want them to do. __). This is the epitome of “nailed it” for this skill group.
-Meteor, man. When I first read the description of Meteor in the Diablo 2 manual I lost my damn mind. Then I cast it, sat there for a minute and said to myself, wait, is that it? Then Diablo 3 gave me the Meteor I’d imagined so many years earlier. Several different kinds in fact! This meteor? It makes the cut. Sorry, that might feel like a tangent, but the A/V, the game feel, the fantasy of Meteor is of particular importance to me. From a usage perspective it seems to fill its own niche, so that’s great, and the numbers seem solid.
-Speaking of Diablo 2, y’all remember Firewall owning the world? Conceptually this skill has never been my favorite. It seems like it should be a defensive or zoning tool, but Diablo enemies have zero sense of self preservation and will happily charge to their death for even the slightest chance to stab you just one time. That’s fine though, I know lots of other people love Firewall as a primary damage dealer. I don’t however feel like the numbers are there. Enemies in this game move pretty fast and I never felt like I found a way to kite enemies effectively for the damage to come out at a reasonable speed, especially for the mana cost.
-Ball Lightning isn’t working for me on any level. It doesn’t move fast enough to reliably hit distant targets; it doesn’t move slowly enough to reliably multi-hit close targets. Also, it’s really infringing on Frozen Orb’s design space. It’s a primary damage dealer in the form of a slow orb that pierces all targets. I actually think this skill would feel a lot better if the basic usage became the immobile version that can proc from one of the legendary aspects. That’s getting close to Firewall’s turf though.
ULTIMATE
Two of these feel like Ultimates to me, one doesn’t. Can you guess which before reading? Try it! Or don’t that’s fine, too.
-Deep Freeze is very, very good. Almost like an upgraded, long-cooldown Frost Nova. Immunity, plus barrier and Chill/Freeze that persist after that, plus (modest) damage in a (huge!!) area. Powerful, versatile skill.
-Inferno also feels appropriate to call an ultimate. Unique VFX with real wow factor, and chunky damage on a long cooldown. Though I do think maybe the vacuum effect should be inherent and that upgrade replaced with something else. It doesn’t feel quite powerful enough without it.
-Unstable Currents leaves me pretty cold. For one, I usually wanna really feel my ultimate when I hit that button. For another, it seems like the lowest impact (and highest variance, thanks to the random spell cast) of the three, but also has the longest cooldown for some reason. I think it’s a really neat idea, But it’s not quite coming together for me, and I don’t know what I would suggest be done with it.
ENCHANTMENTS
There are simply too many of these for me to have spent much time with most of them. But my game sense tells me that, most of the time, Fireball is going to be really hard to beat. Really, really hard. A huge percentage of this game is about clearing packs, and Fireball clears packs. It has limited utility against bosses, but it’s free to switch your Enchantment before a boss fight. At least for now? Maybe in postgame dungeons we’ll be locked in, like a D3 rift? But then again, we’ll get a second slot eventually, so I don’t know. Spending one skill point or getting a point in Fireball from an item right now feels as close to mandatory as anything for Sorcerer.
RANDOM NOTES
Here are a few brain droppings that didn’t fit into the above.
-Why isn’t Stun a searchable keyword in the sorcerer tree?
-Part of the reason I advocated for some inherent mana restoration from Basics is because mana recovery feels a bit too slow. Maybe more than a bit. There are a dozen different knobs that could tune this, from Basics feeling punchier and/or recovering mana, to base mana regen going up, to it being more common on gear, to base spell costs being lowered a touch… You get the idea. I wanna use my cool skills, let me use my cool skills, that’s all I’m sayin’. Probably in the late and postgame this will cease to be an issue, but I’d still like to fire off my main skill a bit more often.
-Please show me the number of points required to reach each tier of skill so I can more effectively pull and replace single points. For example, even after I have two points in Basics, I would like to see on screen somewhere–maybe off to the side, maybe on a tooltip–that it takes a total of two points invested before I can put points in Core skills. (Obviously this is more for stuff way further down the tree, that was just an easy example.)
-We won’t know until later in the game, but is there ever a reason to deliberately mix elements? I’m all for a good Only Lightning, Other Elements Need Not Apply sort of build, but I also like the way D3 had skills and gear that encouraged mixing and matching. Right now it looks like the more you can mono-focus the better, so I’m hoping gear and/or Paragon Boards will open up some builds that combine two or even three damage types.
That’s all I have for now! What do my Sorcerous Comrades think? Satisfied? Underwhelmed? Haha Hydra go brrrr? Counting the minutes until June, but until then, I'd love to hear from you.

2023.03.20 22:35 Emotional-Vacation39 23 [M4F] GMT+1 EUROPE Looking for my soulmate, never been in a relationship before but I want to fall in love and be with my person forever :)
Life is a journey, and sometimes it can feel like a lonely one. I used to think that I needed to have everything together before I could share my experiences with others. But lately, I've realized that waiting for the perfect moment can mean missing out on the wonderful connections that make life meaningful.
I realize I’m not the spitting image of a successful person but I am making progress towards my goals and thought having someone worth improving for would probably be a huge boost to motivation.
A little bit about myself:
I'm an introvert, which has made it challenging for me to approach people and connect on a deeper level. I enjoy spending time alone but I also miss having not a special person in my life, someone with whom I can be a little clingy and pour my heart.
I also love exploring new places and trying new things. When I'm not busy in hustle and bustle of life I enjoy video games, TV shows, movies, and music, but I also enjoy physical activities like hiking and traveling.
One of the reasons why I've never been in a relationship before is because I haven't found the right person who values monogamy, commitment and loyalty as much as I do. I'm not interested in casual or purely physical connections (no offense to those who enjoy such way of life but it's not my cup of tea). I want to find someone who I can grow old and build a future with.
To be completely transparent, I'm inexperienced when it comes to intimacy because for me, it requires having an emotional connection, and I've never had such a connection before. While some may see it as a disadvantage I just hope to attract the right person to build something special with.
I want to fall in love without eventual regret, a love where we share memes, love notes, stories, and interests. We balance each other out and enjoy laughing, crying, and trying new things together.
Our hearts ache when apart, and we yearn for each other's touch. We fill each other's voids and help heal past traumas. We push each other towards success and soothe each other's worries and fears. Our eternal love brings out the best in us and grows stronger through ups and downs, with no judgment or shame, only empathy
What I'm looking for in a partner:
Someone who is kind, genuine, and caring. I want someone who values honesty, authenticity, and loyalty in relationships. I'm not interested in wasting my time with someone who's not serious about building a meaningful connection.
You don’t have to fake being interesting, you can be the blandest person in the world and I’ll still think you’re amazing.
You don’t have to have your life together. I have no right to demand that. We can always grow together.
If you're interested in getting to know me better, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm excited to see if we have a connection and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

2023.03.20 22:33 APoisonousMushroom Was handgun concealed carry ever popular in the US during or prior to the Old West/American frontier days?
In Old West movies and TV, you never see anyone drawing a pistol from concealment, i.e. carrying a pistol in a hidden holster on your person (under a shirt, say). Outside of possibly a derringer-style 2-shot pistol that you see depicted as a pocket gun (or even on a
mechanical sleeve holster if you're James West), the only 'hidden' guns I can recall depicted in old west shows were in purses carried by women.
In pre-modern times in the US, was it basically always the case that you could tell just by looking at someone if they were armed or not because they were open carrying a pistol? If so, why? Wouldn't you want the element of surprise to be on your side if you were in a remote frontier town rife with crime, etc.?

2023.03.20 22:33 wildborgy BTTB or BMSS episodes ACTUALLY worth listening to
Okay, y’all. I’m all for both of these iconic mom podcasts (keep milking the show that abused you for a payday as you deserve to), but I’m just not interested enough in the casual banter between them that seems to fill up a lot of the time in both of these podcasts to listen to all of every episode.
What are the episodes, in your opinion, that offer some new/insightful/interesting information about the show or the cast? TIA

2023.03.20 22:33 SkyFullofHat Suddenly, none of my echoes will play Amazon music
Is this happening to anyone else? I have searched everywhere I can think of to find an answer to this.
It's all three echoes. They will play podcasts which are also coming from Amazon music. But when I tell it to play music (of any type) via the default Amazon music, it says "here's a playlist for you" and then silence. If I go to another echo and tell it to play music, it will say another device is already streaming.
I bought a Fire TV, and this started today when the echo weirdly tried playing music through the TV. Now I can't even get it to play through the TV.
I've done tons of searching, and can't find any indication that Amazon music is down. Also can't find instructions that seem to match how to disconnect the echo from the TV (not through the TV or through the Alexa app). I never paired the TV with the echo, so none of those settings are showing the TV paired with anything. Not sure why this would mess with the other two devices, anyway.
I'm pretty sure I've played music on the echo in my living room since setting up the TV. I have unplugged both the TV and echo, and tried asking echo for music while the TV was completely unplugged.
Mostly I'm just wondering if anyone else's echoes are selectively not playing only Amazon music but thinking they are playing.

2023.03.20 22:33 obl1v1on_SHINNN Diablo IV Beta General Feedback - Early Access Weekend
| Disclaimer: This is obviously just my opinion. I do not expected everyone to agree or disagree with me, but I am curious as to how many people have similar feelings towards certain aspects. It is entirely possible that some of the things that I mention are merely bugs in the Beta version of the game and not necessarily in the release. I've spent the majority of the time that the Early Access Beta has been available, playing it and have an extremely large amount of playtime across multiple ARPGs (Incuding All Diablo games and of course, PoE), so any negative points are with the intention of improving the logevity of the game, not just to trash on the game. I have a large collection of data from the Beta, some of which will be included in this post, this isn't complete and will be finalised in the next Beta weekend. I simply didn't have the time to play that much and also complete this data set. My Beta progression Positive Points Rather than immediately going into the negative aspects and/or concerns that I have from the Beta, I'll start with the more positive aspects. In-Game Visuals (Highest settings almost all round) The game looks visually stunning. It's easily one of, if not the best looking ARPG that I have played to date. The environments in Fractured Peaks are well detailed with a fairly wide colour palette, whilst still maintaining that darker feel without feeling like the colours are washed out. - This was further emphasized whilst going through all the side content and entering all the different Aspect Dungeons, where there were clear themes and differences in certain environments.
Skills Overall, skill generally feel nice to use, especially on the Barbarian and Rogue. There are a lot of visually cool skills (Several Rogue skills, a few Sorceress skills and Ultimate Skills) and a lot of skills that feel impactful in play such as Upheaval (Barbarian). Open World Considering that we only have access to the Fractured Peaks region, the world already feels quite big. There's a lot of exploration within Fractured Peaks itself that kept me busy for quite a decent amount of time exploring everything (It appears that there are some quests and one dungeon unvailable in the beta? At least there were areas that I know quests exist in but simply couldn't do). If the remaining Regions match the size and level of exploration as Fractured Peaks, then I'll be extremely happy with the amount of side content available (I don't feel there should be much more than this, as like any ARPG the game should be based around Endgame, not side content and too much side content takes away from other aspects if they continue to be as rewarding as Renown is - Paragon and Skill points). Overall completion of Fractured Peaks in the Beta Questing and Event details for the Beta (Incomplete and subject to change) Enemy Variety From some of the posts I have seen, I'm not sure that everyone will necessarily agree with this one, however, I felt like for simply being a single Region, there was a very large amount of different enemy types. - So far I have 99 enemy types (Of course some models and monster types are repeated and simply given a slight variation). Some are my best guess as to their types, these are not confirmed damage types.
Current Data Set for enemies in the Fractured Peaks (Incomplete and subject to change) Bosses This part is specifically referring to the Act bosses and World boss, not the dungeon bosses that will be covered in a more negative light, unfortunately. The Act bosses felt great. All the bosses felt like there was a little bit of mechanical thought required, rather than just mindlessly attacking away without any risk associated with them at all. Yes, they are simple mechanics, but still had the need for some thought as to what is happening during a phase. Lilith's Lament feeling the best for me personally from the Act Bosses, followed by Tchorch and X'Fal. Ashava was a fun world boss, which rewards you for learning the attacks and being able to avoid them. The scaling on the poison damage specifically felt a bit off compared to everything else in the Beta, but that's easily overcome by avoiding the attack. Class Identity This is referring to the Combo System, Arsenal System and Enchanting system. Honestly all of these felt quite good in their own way. I think it's too early in the game to be making judgements about how strong they are or how one plays over another in the endgame, but all systems felt enjoyable to engage with in different ways. I do think that, whilst Barbarian and Rogue's systems were enjoyable, Sorceress feels like it's the best of the three systems, simply because it opens up more build variety that the others somewhat lack. This might make build variation later feel a little bit lacking in other classes, or it might not make any difference, remains to be seen on release. This is pretty much where I will end the positive notes. There are other smaller things that don't necessarily fit into a category and just take up a lot of space for relatively little impact. Negative Points Unfortunately, we reach the point where things weren't so great and simply due to the nature of them being more negative, they will be more detailed in certain areas. Skills / Skill Usage On the flip side of the above comments about Skills, the main negative I have is that none of the skills felt particularly impactful. There was no "oomph" or impact behing a large majority of the skills. - Barbarian didn't have much weight behind its skills, neither didn't Sorceress.
- Surprisingly, Rogue felt like it had the most behind its skills as at least the movement that it provided felt like you could make some good combinations with the skills (Dashing into Evading into Caltrops etc).
In regards to Skill Usage itself, it felt a bit clunky with certain attacks and I could really feel the console aspect of the game behind the way that targetting on skill usage and general flow of skill usage feels. - This is very much a point that I think PoE does so much better than almost any ARPG in existence and that is having the ability to set individual skills to use without moving.
- Yes, Diablo IV has Force Stand... yes, this is a very good thing. However, why is there no option to tie this and a skill usage together like PoE?! Surely at this point, this should be almost a standard if anything. It simply makes the flow of skill usage feel better, rather than having to push a Force Stand binding and a skill
- This is further emphasised when the mob density increases, as the game seems to struggle to determine which target you want to go for with several targets moving in quick succession. This feels like it's going to be an even bigger problem later on.
I honestly expected a bit more from the feel of the combat/skills considering how good the engine feels in general. I'm not sure whether it's trying to feel more/too realistic and deliberate in its movements or not, but it somewhat takes away from my exprience at times. Tooltips / Calculations At first, I thought this was a really good addition... however, it appears that the Multiplicative and Addictive indicators on items are not as clear and concise as they may appear. The Barrier source is supposed to be Additive from the UI display Before and After activating Barrier The above example, shows two Sources. The Barrier activation is supposed to be an additive source of Lucky Hit Chance, however, it is Multiplicative. - Legendary Power Barrier = 1.26
- 3.5% Lucky Chance item prefix = 0.315
- Total Lucky Chance = 1.575 (The game is round this to 2 on the tooltip display for Spark).
I never expected it to be Additive in the first place, otherwise you're going to be allowing for potentially 100% Lucky Hit Chance builds, which I'm sure they want to avoid or limit to some capacity. To put it simply, if this tooltip display is incorrect though, what else is? - I have been listing everything related to Legendary Powers, but at this point, I don't know what's correct or not with the Multipliers.
We're going to have to go through every interaction in order to make sure now... which makes the [+] and [x] additions somewhat irrelevant. Legendary Powers listings and values User Interface Probably the point that is going to have the most contention In my opinion, the User Interface is FAR too Console influenced... I understand that consoles are the largest market... and that it's inevitable that Blizzard are going to enter it, given the Activision-Blizzard relationship, but it's honestly too much. - Why are all the interfaces such as Map, Collections, Social, Clan etc taking me OUT OF THE GAME?!
- When I click on my collections, achievements, social and clan... I want them to be a pop-up and still be able to move freely in the background if something happens in the game or I want to continue running as I view a particular menu.
- Even Diablo 3 did this better in some aspects, it simply feels like a step back, not a step forward.
- WHY IS THERE NO MINIMAP OVERLAY?!
- Pushing Tab should display a minimap overlay, like almost every ARPG in existence. I should not be taken out of the game just to view where I am going better whilst I'm moving and/or in combat and the minimap in the top right takes away from your view of the game more often than not, including being too zoomed in anyway.
- Once again, Diablo 3 did this better, why is it going backwards rather than forwards?
Achievements Page Achievements Page UI I like the left hand of this, no issue there. However, the right hand side is not fitting for PC players at all... or even really Console players with a large TV/Screen. Why exactly are we limited to 3 achievements show before scrolling? - I would love the UI to be scaled smaller and display significantly more per achievement page, why can't we view 5, 6 or 7 achievements before scrolling? Or have multiple achievements displayed side by side.
- If they want to keep the same view as now, then Lost Ark is a great reference for this as the Achievements page is laid out in a similar way, with the tabs on the left and achievements right, except it's scaled so you can view significantly more per achievement page before having to scroll.
It all simply feels too large and in your face for what is a base 100% UI scaling. The Character Profile Character Profile It's simplistic, yes. It's straight to the point in some aspects... however the main things I dislike with this: - Why are Gems a part of the Equipment inventory?
- This is a very outdated concept, imo... and especially with all items taking up the same amount of inventory space, I feel like this should either go in its own tab at this point or be a currency that isn't even displayed as an item (I would prefer just a separate tab though since it would take away the feel of socketing a gem if it were a currency).
- Why does the "Profile" part exist under my Character and Title... it's pointless.
- If I want to go to my Profile, I can do this elsewhere. It's something that people are rarely ever going to use in the first place and it's just taking up useful real-estate on the character profile, imo.
- Why does the "Materials & Stats" default to Materials?
- I can see the majority of materials at the vendor anyway, but surely this should default to the option that is more useful to players, which I would argue is very obviously the Stats page. I don't click that button to see what materials I have, I primarily click that button to see how certain item affixes will influence my stats.
Storage Space I can already see storage space being an issue... with only 50 slots at 5x10, it's not going to be long before you run out of space. This was very easy to do just in one Beta weekend by storing Legendary Power Aspects, Gems and some Rare item drops ready to be imprinted on. Bosses Circling back around to bosses, more specifically the Aspect Dungeon bosses. They all just feel... the same. I understand that bosses are going to be repeated often, that's just natural with an ARPG and game like this, but none of them feel particularly unique or feel like you have to think about anything that they do. - There are certain bosses in games such as PoE for example, where whilst you enter the boss area and destroy the boss in a matter of seconds, there are certain attacks they can do or mechanics they have that are more dangerous if you don't eliminate it quickly. On top of the fact that the bosses just have more variety to them.
This could very much be just the limitation of Fractured Peaks and therefore significantly improve with all regions and the Nightmare Dungeons / Endgame in general. Movement A lot of the movement just doesn't feel very natural. After teleporting with the Sorceress, or evading on all characters or dashing on Rogue etc, the recovery animations seem... off. It feels like the recovery to perform actions following a movement skill is slightly too delayed and therefore makes the action feel clunkier rather than a fluid motion into the next skill. This may just be a Beta issue though and unrelated to the launch version of the game. Itemisation I'm not going to go into this into too much detail, this horse has been beaten to death far too many times at this point... instead, what I want to mention here is how none of the items feel unique. The ONLY item that I can recall and tell you exists is the Dark Sword, because it stands out and has a unique glow. I cannot name a single Legendary item that I had drop, because they don't really mean anything. - There's no Stone of Jordan, or Mempo of Twilight, or Echoing Fury... or Tabula Rasa etc so far.
Sure, this may once again be an early game / Beta content issue and not a full release issue, but it's concerning that I don't feel like anything that I dropped really stood out to me, only their powers. On a slightly separate note, can it be decided what it happening with items on the ground? Either you want them to be unidentified and we go and identify them with scrolls or a tome as usual and then vendor them, or you just let us see the item so we know what to pick up. Right now there's no real distinction between what drops. Conclusion Overall, I did enjoy my experience so far with the Beta and I'm sure that Necromancer and Druid will be fun next weekend as well. Whilst there are a number of positive aspects to the game, there are many factors that are overly concerning to me this close to release and that I feel won't change between now and release if they ever change at all as some of them are clearly design choices. It very much feels like in a lot of areas, we're taking a step back, not a step forward and considering some of the competition in this space, yes PoE especially (As much as you don't want to compare the two, they are in the same genre and space), is that really the direction that is best? I'm sure that I'll get a good couple hundred hours total out of the game in its current state and come back and check on things season to season, there's enough to do in each region to occupy a good amount of time... but that's not what's going to keep me playing long term, the endgame, the QoL and the systems in the game are. I do not think it's fair to make comments on Endgame and comparisons of things like builds at this moment in time, the Beta simply doesn't provide enough for us to make appropriate judgements. I don't know how much longevity it's going to hold based on some of the things available to view in the Beta that we can compare now. submitted by obl1v1on_SHINNN to diablo4 [link] [comments] |

2023.03.20 22:30 Emotional-Vacation39 23 [M4F] (EUROPE) Looking for my soulmate, never been in a relationship before but I want to fall in love and be with my person forever :)
Our eternal love brings out the best in us and grows stronger through ups and downs, with no judgment or shame, only empathy.

2023.03.20 22:29 pluviometer [TOMT] [book/show/movie?] [2010-20s?] media with the quote "i only remember joy"
I'm not sure if it's from a book or TV show or movie; maybe slightly leaning toward TV show because I feel like I remember it being visual media. I think I saw it in the past 1-2 years. I don't usually consume media from before the 2000s so it probably also came out somewhat recently. I'm a little afraid it was a random artist's comic on Twitter because that's going to be even harder to find lol.
What I remember from the scene is it's two characters with a conflicted relationship history, and one of them is in bad shape (like old age or illness). They're talking about their past and the old/ill character says that despite their past relationship troubles, when they think back on the relationship, all they remember is the good parts. The line the person says is either "I only remember joy" or "I remember only joy" -- pretty sure about this part!
The two characters might have been an older relative + younger relative, or two people who dated and broke up in the past, I can't remember... I think the character who says the line is male and the other character is female.
It's not this line from Avengers Endgame, but similar sentiment: TONY STARK: I thought my dad was tough on me. And now, looking back, I just remember the good stuff, you know.

Note that these are likely an undercount as I have noticed people missing from several pages.
This table shows the percentage of each school's class of '24 made up by these sponsorees, sorted highest ot lowest:

2023.03.20 22:27 metabrewing How to enable foreign-only "forced" subtitles for a Plex shared server on Shield TV Pro?
I'm encountering an issue where TV shows/movies that are played on an Nvidia Shield Pro seem to not play the foreign language portion of a TV show from a shared server. Is there a way to adjust the settings on the Shield Pro to automatically select or play forced subtitles?
When playing the show, I can go to the playback settings and find a subtitle track, but they usually show subtitles for everything, not just the foreign language portion.

2023.03.20 22:27 Small-Grey-Dog Question about DSM and using NVMe M.2 as a second storage pool.
This isn't so much of a question as it is me wanting to confirm that I'm on the right track, and understand this correctly.
I have a DS920+ with 2x 12TB WD Red Plus in SHR. I recently added 2x 500GB Samsung Evo Plus NVMe, and configured them as a second storage pool.
My plan is to migrate all of my docker containers to storage pool #2, while my data (movies, TV shows, etc.) remains on storage pool #1.
From what I read, it's my understanding that no action needs to be taken when it comes to DSM. ie: installing/migrating it over to the NVMe drives. It mirrors itself across all drives, correct?
My goal is to maximize speediness and snappiness of DSM and all of my containers. Forgot to mention that my RAM is maxed out at 20GB as well.

2023.03.20 22:27 Gibons1 Build Showcase: Poison Cleave & Alchemist Mark feat. Echoforge
Good afternoon!
I'd like to show my build that I played in 3.20. This build does a number of cool things that I thought the community would enjoy.
This build features very large poisons by using 6x Low Tolerance notables in our cluster jewels. We have a ton of "Faster Poison" stats across our character to bring our poison duration down to around 1 second. Alchemist Mark scales off the damage per second of the largest poison on the target which makes the ground effect do most of our damage. We are running Grace+Determination+Defiance Banner for defenses as well as being Suppression capped.
Other interesting notes:
- Most of poison chance comes from Herald of Agony alt quality with Ashes of the Stars.
- Leap Slam is linked to Brutality so that you wont accidentally poison enemies while hopping around.
- I got insanely lucky with my Relic. It gives 12% mana reservation efficiency and 8% increased curse effect. This scales our Despair and boosts the damage of our Alchemist Mark. Without the relic you'd have to pick up the Grace Reservation Efficiency node in the Evasion Mastery.
- You have to wait for poisons to fall off before hitting an enemy each time due to Low Tolerance. After a while you get a hang of how long your poison durations are.
- To maximize DPS, I would hand cast Despair, use Withering Step to apply Wither, Cast Alchemist Mark, Hit with Vaal Cleave or Cleave. It is important to use Withering Step before Cleave so it goes on cooldown.
- The duration of the wither stacks applied by Withering Step last 3 seconds and the cooldown is 2.97 seconds. You won't always have it applied but so long as you always hit right as you press Withering Step you can approach 100% uptime.
- Since Echoforge doesn't allow us to do Physical Damage, we have to convert all Phys to Chaos to make use of all the Damage on the weapon. We have 100% Phys to Chaos conversion from Ascendency(40%), Chaos Mastery(40%), and Eater of Worlds Glove Implicit(20%).
- We are immune to all elemental ailments, hinder, corrupted blood, stun, and bleeding.
- This build would be unplayable without Poison proliferation from pathfinder ascendency.
- All the rare items (not including jewels) were crafted by me! Let me know if you have any questions about how I made them. Oh...not the belt actually. I tried to craft it but gave up after spending way too much. Then some guy was selling this one for 3 divines.
- This character cost a little over 400 divines.

2023.03.20 22:25 StarBsGrl Is this normal behavior for a 13 week old kitten?
Our kitten play-bites a lot when we try to pet her. The only time she won't do this is when she's sleeping and we pet her. Then she'll start purring in her sleep while allowing the petting. When she's awake she's a lot more aggressive and treats our hands like a toy/prey. It has gotten a little less than a couple weeks ago.
I wanted to know if this is typical kitten behavior or if my kitten is particularly aggressive. Her tail is often in an up and curved position indicating that she's usually feeling playful. However, she will also occasionally attack our heads when we're watching tv and not paying attention to her and run away as quickly as she can. She will also attack my fiance's face when he's exercising on the floor. It is a little bit disconcerting. She will sometimes also swipe towards us in the air while we're passing by and make a silent spitting-type sound (without any spit coming out). I don't know what this means but it looks aggressive when she does it.
We show her a lot of love and affection and play with her a lot. She reciprocates the affection but it's usually when she's in a half-sleeping state. I wanted to know if we're doing something wrong. I honestly get fomo when I watch youtube videos of kittens of similar age who don't behave this way and don't get annoyed when the owner merely tries to pet them.
Only constructive comments please.

I recently starting watching tv shows on the YouTube app on my IPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ve been watching using data because I don’t have access to WiFi. Randomly throughout the video it will freeze the frame and then continue the sound as if the video wasn’t frozen. I’ve tried to lower the resolution all the way down to 144p but it still continues to freeze. Is this normal for tv shows/movies while using data instead of WiFi and is there a fix?

Wayne Williams - Do you love water restrictions? Do you love traffic? Do you love the establishment? Do you love puppet politicians? Then you'll love Wayne Williams. Directly in the pockets of developers, Williams is the choice for anyone who wants unregulated growth that will force those in charge of our water infrastructure to make difficult decisions when our supply reaches a critical point. In his defense, he may actually be a good guy but a ventriloquist dummy is only as good as the person with their hand up his ass.
John "Tigger" Tiegen - You know that family member that ruins every thanksgiving dinner with endless schizophrenic rants about the deep state? This is who they would vote for if they weren't so woke to know that the voting machines are being controlled by the spectre of Mao Zedong. But they know a workaround to ensure their candidate gets into office: drive around with flags flying from their truck. And obviously if that doesn't work then the back up is just claiming election fraud.
Kallan Rodebaugh - The only good candidate. Not tainted by any Facebook narratives. Doesn't attack his opponents. All campaign donations go to Springs Mission. He has way better hair than any other choices. Can lift more than any other choices.
Daryll Glenn - This is the only candidate who will end the COVID lockdowns that Obama has inflicted on this country. Okay, sure, they have ended, but he'll travel back in time and end them. And sure, Obama isn't in office, but anyone who likes Glenn knows that Obama is teamed up with George Soros and Bill Gates to implant 5g chips in the populace and control them. Glenn will also fight back against the controllers of the Jewish space lasers that have been the cause of wildfires. Voting for him gets you a coupon code for MyPillow, so that's awesome.
Yemi - You know that warm fuzzy feeling you got when you voted for Obama because of all the hope and change and what not, then under Obama we drone struck a Yemeni wedding and it and we all were just like, "yeah, I definitely believe that I'm a leftist by voting for that" and then you were all like "orange man put kids in cage, I'm voting against him" and then the new guy just got nicer kids for the cage and you were all like "yeah, that's awesome I definitely think I'm a leftist for that"? Remember? Pepperidge farm remembers. Well, you can revive that feeling of neoliberal fetishistic disavowal by voting for a guy whose business was involved in wage theft and ignored sexual harassment allegations. Thank God (who he has personally spoken with, so there might be some collusion there) his supporters are telling people he wasn't to blame for those incidents because I haven't seen any evidence of him addressing the issue and clearing the air.
Christopher Mitchell - Finally, a candidate who has briefly skimmed the cliff's notes of the Constitution and is running a campaign based on a 4th graders understanding of said Constitution. He claims he'll handle things objectively, which, one can very well infer from reading about him that his version of objectivity will hew so close to subjective that you'll question the definition of either term. Also, wtf is the cowboy revolution? Does that mean this guy owns a Ford f-150 that's never left concrete?
Andrew Dalby - The dude took out a $400,000 loan for his campaign and his largest expenditure, the largest single expenditure among any of the candidates, is a $275,000 transaction to Dark Money Advertising LLC. The joke writes itself folks. A true caricature of politics. And listen, as a straight white male, I'm just as excited as the next straight white male for the possibility of the ideals in Handmaids Tale being the law of the land, but dude, chill. Side note: When Yemi claims he talked to God he was actually talking to Dalby.
Lawrence Martinez - I feel like if I try to add any coherent thoughts to this guy's platform, people will accuse me of being involved with his campaign. Considering that incoherence has been the preference for the executive branch of our federal government since 2016, he should be the frontrunner. But it's very likely that reading this is the first time you've heard of him.
Sallie Clark - The "i WoN't vOtE fOr cArEeR PoLiTiCiAnS" crowd aren't voting for her, so that is one out of two good things going for her. Of the viable candidates, she's probably the best choice when it comes to the real issues Colorado Springs faces (the ones Wayne Williams will make worse). But, as evidenced by her attack ad on Williams (which, by principle I don't vote for candidates who run attack ads) which juxtaposed Williams as someone who would dare reach across the aisle in bipartisan fashion, she is representative of the plague that is American entertainment politics. In a race that is supposed to be non-partisan, she has assured us that she is a conservative republican who is fine with alienating an entire voting demographic. I also heard a rumor that she talks to Margaret Thatcher with a Ouija board but I can't prove that.
Jim Miller - Jim Miller will increase the distance that sex offenders can live from schools. Jim Miller will increase the distance that sex offenders can live from playgrounds. Jim Miller will increase the distance that sex offenders can live from Chuck E Cheese. That's pretty much the platform. Oh, he doesn't like potholes either. We can all get on board with that, right? Just deport the pedos to Teller county and fix the potholes? We should probably just vote for this guy.
Longinos - You know that joke, "How do you know if someone's vegan? Don't worry, they'll tell you." Well, that's how Longinos is with his military career. And just like any panhandler that makes a dubious claim about being a veteran on their cardboard sign, he knows it's a strategy that works in this setting. He also makes the noble claim that he is the candidate for "the people" while being adamantly against everything half of "the people" want. He'll get up to 3% of the vote, which will at least beat Tiegen so that's fun.
Strand - Again, this is probably the first time you've heard of him. I think at this point it's probably a waste of time to waste my breath on someone all of us just heard of today because of this post. (The joke is that you all should have heard of him but he's been pushed far aside in this election)

2023.03.20 22:18 StarBsGrl Is this normal behavior for a 13 week old kitten?
I was walking in my neighborhood today and came across someone's cat that got loose. When I put my hand out he started nuzzling it. I thought to myself how much I wished my own cat was friendly like this...
Only constructive comments please.
